This hotel is in a great location for access to American Dream Mall which was the purpose of our trip.
Front desk: check-in was smooth and quick. We had a few packages delivered throughout our stay that we were able to collect easily. Staff were friendly & helpful
Breakfast: basic options, yogurt, cereal, toast, bagels, pastry. Each day there was an option of egg, potatoes and a meat. I only tried the meat, the links were fine the patties were salty. The potatoes honestly could have used a little razzle dazzle. On weekends they have toaster waffles but they were all gone by the time I got there. Breakfast ends at 9am during the week and 9:30 on weekends which is not ideal when on vacation. I would also suggest they get another toaster, it was really busy on the weekend and everyone was lined up waiting on the 1 toaster.
Common areas: lobby area and breakfast area were always clean and well looked after. I did not use the pool or the gym but also looked good, pool is a bit small.
Rooms: it was myself, a friend and 2 kids. The room size was perfect, we had 2 queen beds for the adults and the couch turned into a trundle bed which was great for the kids. The room had a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. The desk has somewhat of a partition so it separates the room giving the kids their own section. There was no bedding in the room for the trundle so we had to go to front desk and it was very late so somewhat of an inconvenience. My biggest and really only issue with the room was the barn door for the bathroom. Not a great idea, the privacy is minimal. You can hear everything that happens in the bathroom as the door does not seal. In addition, when the door is closed, there are gaps on each side that give a clear view into the bathroom. As the kids lay on the trundle bed they can see directly into the shower (glass door). I had to hang a towel over the shower door to block any views.
All in all, this was a great stay and would definitely stay again.

Hotel was in a perfect location for an event at Met Life Stadium. We requested an early check in and were thrilled when we received an alert at 9:45 that we had a mobile key ready. Much appreciated. Room was clean (except for the closet floor!).

A few reasons why I only gave 4 stars:

The mobile key disappeared from my phone on checkout day at 8am. The Front Desk agent tried to send it back to my phone but was unable to. The actual key cards we had for the room consistently deactivated. Kind of a pain when you are on the 4th floor and have to go back to the desk to have them recharged. (and no, we did not put them near a cell phone or a magnet)

On Friday morning around 11am, I went to the desk to get a key and the Front Desk agent asked ONLY for my room number. No name check, no request for id, not a single thing. This is a HUGE problem. It made me very uncomfortable knowing that at anytime during his shift anyone could ask for a key to any given room. We also asked him numerous times about the bus station, which we could clearly see were located out the door. We only wanted to know what side of the street we should be on to head into NYC, but he couldn't be bothered and just kept saying "it's right outside." Needless to say, we missed the first bus. I will say that every other time the keys stopped working the staff on did a security check before giving a new key.

Saturday morning I came down to get a cup of hot water as our room had no paper cups in it to be able to use in the in room coffee maker. I was scolded by the breakfast attendant for this, because breakfast didn't start until 7am. It was 6:45 and all I wanted was a cup of hot water. It was clear that breakfast was ready to go and they were just counting down the clock till 7, which frankly is just dumb. If the food is ready, let the people eat. We ate breakfast both mornings at the IHOP down the road because of this interaction.

I booked for a three weeks stay and this is my third day here. Overall, i am happy with this hotel. The check-in was quick, the room is neat and spacious with 2 beds and a convertible couch. There is a fridge, microwave and a coffee machine.
The bathroom is spacious but the shower head is fixed on the wall.
Another con is the tub water; i personally like to shower with relatively hot water and i need to adjust the tempreature  as i like..but unfortunately this option is not available here as the maximum water temp is set by the hotel and not my fav temp of course but might be ok with other guests.
Also the bathroom door is a sliding door and designed in a way that you can see people inside from both sides of the door so dont expect much privacy 🤷‍♂️.
The coffee machine does not off automatically so you have to watch it or else the water will pour everywhere.
Another little disappointment is the breakfast. The menu is limited and fixed. The main daily dish is scrambled eggs and beacon, with no consideration for people who need to keep healthy life style or people from cultures who dont eat beacon. The breakfast doesnt include any vegetables, just bananas and apples. They serve prodige, oatmeal, jam, nuts, yogurt, chredded cheddar and cupcake.
I really wish they consider diversity.

Aside from the coffee machine issue, the water temp and the breakfast menu, the staff here is very friendly and verrrry professional. I liked my room and the huge desk was really a big plus to me.
With free wifi and a spacious lobby i liked to sometimes work downstairs.

Just note that room service doesnt include free water; you have to either purchase a small bottle  for $4 from the hotel or shop elsewhere. So you better be ready to deal with this issue on your own.
Also there is no supermarkets or stores near and dont think of walking because the hotel is on a highway. You need a car/taxi.

To sum it up, i really like this hotel for the overall satisfying experience, the safe location and professional team.. and i hope they consider the points i mentioned in my review. A small change can make all the difference. Thanks a lot Marriott.

We just returned from a 3 night stay here. After much research a lot of the hotels in the area had recent bad reviews or mentioned they weren’t in the best area. Even though this hotel only had a few reviews and none really recent we ended up here and are so glad we did! I travel alone with my teens often and felt very safe staying here. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself is new so everything was updated and clean. Upon arrival we were told that they were short staffed and not offering room service but that is very typical of hotel stays lately and was not a problem. As of now, the pool (although on the small side), gym and breakfast is open. Breakfast itself was just ok but offered a variety of your basics (breads, toast, bagels, cereal, eggs, bacon, yogurt, sausage, coffee and juices) but we were just happy it wasn’t a grab and go!
The room itself was spacious and clean. We had a great view of the city although not all rooms offer this. Instead of a pull out couch they offer a trundle which is a fun touch. Our only downfall to our room was a very heavy barn door into the bathroom. My 15 year old daughter actually got stuck inside but it was fine and funny although I can imagine it would not be with younger kids. This could have just been our room though and was not such a big deal that we needed to complain but did tell them upon check out.
As far as location, it is great for the American dream mall or a trip into the city. Please note you do need to drive about 10 minutes to the train station and it’s another 10 minute train ride into Penn Station. Be careful though because parking can range from $12-$30 depending on entrance times so take note.
Overall we had a great stay and if in the area again this would be our hotel of choice.

From the pre-arrival information from assistant manager Brian to the swift check-in by Alana, we had a great experience arriving at the hotel. Our room was ready for our check in and we instantly noticed how clean, bright & spacious the hotel was; it was very inviting and relaxing.

We chose a room with a city view and it was fantastic, the views of the sunset/sunrise were breathtaking. The room was super clean, all new and modern features (like usb ports close to the bed) and everything you could need for a comfortable stay (fridge, microwave, tea/coffee, hairdryer, toiletries). Our room was extremely spacious (2 queen beds), desk, huge sofa (sofa bed), lots of drawers for storage and a walk in closet big enough for 3 of us. We had our beds made and towels changed daily. The free WiFi was very strong in our room.

We didn't use the on-site gym or pool during our stay but they looked clean and bright. We enjoyed free breakfast each morning. There was plenty to choose from.... tea/coffee/juice, yogurts/fruit, cereal/oatmeal, bread (bagels/waffles) & 3 hot foods which changed each morning which included eggs (scrambled/omelette), crispy potatoes, bacon/sausages. Everything was really tasty and was enough for what we wanted.

The location was perfect for parking the car and using the bus (160/163) in & out of NYC. The stops were literally outside the hotel. $4.50 20mins trip to Port Authority ... It was great! We also checked out the neighbouring American Dream Mall (Met Stadium beside it is too), which was huge & had a great food court.

All the hotel staff members we interacted with during our stay were so friendly and really made us feel welcome. We will definitely stay here again when we return to America

I would have liked to have given this hotel a 5 star rating but I could not. We stay at the hotel from 8/24-8/27. As a retired hotel worker from The Park Lane Hotel (NYC). I know what is expected from GSA (guest service agent). Upon my arrival we were greeted by Shakira who I must say was the exemplary face of Spring Hill Suites. We arrived early and she was able to get us into our room with an easy process. However, the room we were assigned to was not made up. Again as a retired hotel worker I know that this could not have happened unless it shows in the system that room is vacant and clean and it really isn’t. Shakira was very nice and even cam up to see the room she gave us and she too was in awe of the fact that the room was not cleaned. She gave us another room and before letting us enter she went in and checked it out for herself. To me she did her job very well. She also notified HK of the situation and they were on it right away thanks to Shakira. The overnight GSA who I had the pleasure to interact with, was also very nice. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name. I interacted with her from Wednesday evening to Thursday evening. No complaints she was also very helpful. The gentleman that I encountered on our last evening at the hotel however was rude and unprofessional. When I came in from my day at the Nickelodeon park with my family I approached the desk and said good evening not once but twice and even then I had to say to him, did you not hear me say good evening and he still was not responsive as a GSA worker should have been. I also did not get any of my trash taken from my room or fresh towels each day of my stay. Let me state that this was all I asked for from housekeeping department. My last evening at the hotel I requested fresh towels and the same gentleman working the front desk told me to come down and get them. I found this a little bit off because the previous nights before this gentleman came on duty, when asked for these amenities, they were delivered right away to our room. I think he needs a little more guest service training. Great place to stay and I would stay again. Just hope I don’t have to go through this again. Thanks again Shakira for your pleasant smile and awesome guest service 🙂

The hotel is brand new (also looks like I’m the first review). My wife and 1.5 year old daughter stayed here on opening day in a king room. We had our travel crib for the little one.

The room was very nice. When we walked in, there was a little coffee area with a mini fridge underneath (pretty sure we forgot our Segovia restaurant leftovers in that fridge :/). To the right was a huge couch that I think pulled out and a nice desk with the expected outlets and USB ports. The desk was spacious and had a frosted glass divider to the bed area which was nice. You could work at this desk without the bed in your Zoom background :). There was a mounted TV that pivoted from the couch/desk area to the bed (maybe like 42-48in screen? Guessing).

The bed was very comfy with little end table sections and reading lights as well as more outlets and USB ports.

The bathroom was separated by a barn door and it was pretty spacious. Toilet area, sink area with plenty of counter space and a glass shower. One little thing I liked about the shower was that the shower control was to the right and the shower head was opposite, so I could turn the water on without being in the water.

Parking was free and I imagine it’s more than enough spots.

Our room could see the NYC skyline but obviously that only applies to half the rooms.

I saw the indoor pool on the way in and peeked in the gym but didn’t use either. Considering both are brand new, I’m sure they’re both very nice. The gym apparently has a Peloton bike if you’d like to do a virtual spin class. Again, didn’t use the gym, but we have a Peloton bike at home and love it.

Tip: Since the room is big, adjust the temp to what you want when you first get there since it may take a little longer than a small room. I slept on the side next to the AC because I run hot :)

We stayed 2 nights during a long road trip to Florida from original starting point of Nova Scotia Canada. We chose this hotel as our base for a little bit of NYC sightseeing.

This hotel is In great shape and the room is spacious and very comfortable (room 317). The beds were so comfy and the pillows were as well. The bathroom is spacious and the walk in shower had excellent water pressure. The bonus of the room is a couch is included so it was nice to have somewhere to sit that isn’t a bed. And yes, the bathroom has a sliding door which isn’t flush to the wall but it does not impede or ruin the stay in the room.

Hotel is quiet in terms of no highway or traffic noise. During our stay there were no large groups so the hotel overall was quiet. I don’t think we ever heard hallway noise or slamming doors during our 2-night stay.

The breakfast is simple but it’s convenient to have it. Basic egg sandwiches and a cheese omelette were the hot choices. There is oatmeal (which my mother said was delicious) with lots of toppings to add as well as cereal, muffins and bagels. There is also juice and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. No fresh fruit.

Staff was courteous and prompt with service. They gave us a good restaurant recommendation (Redd’s) following our arrival (super easy to get to). Basic pub/bar food but it hit the spot.

Hotel has easy access to highways and the Secaucus train station is just over 10 minutes away with easy access to NYC.

Will definitely stay again next time we visit NYC.

I only stay in Marriott's and this location did meet the general standard, however there were a few things I did not like. Hotel room at check-in smelled very strongly of perfume. Noticed same smell in lobby and I believe this is something they are spraying. I'm not a smell sensitive person but it was not what i consider to be an attractive odor. The bathroom door! Marriott, I've noticed this at a few locations. Barn style sliding doors are not for bathrooms. Almost inch gap in the door. All smells and sounds are shared by all occupants of the room. I went for an NFL game and discovered there were several extra costs. First the hotel rates are jacked up because of the stadium event, criminal. But they also charge $10 hotel parking? They advertise a Shuttle to the stadium but it is run by a third party and pricey, 2 minutes away and it's $40 round trip. This is annoying because I was debating hotels farther away and taking the train but when I called this Marriott I was told the hotel runs a free shuttle. FYI, if your researching if you can walk o the stadium I would not recommend it. It's all highways around the grounds. Very strange city planning to not incorporate sideways and pedestrian bridges? Obviously not Marriotts fault.

Next time I go to a game I'll likely stay farther way. No advantage to being close when you can't walk.

This place is only 6 weeks old so everything is in brand mew condition. Hotel is conveniently located near the Secaucus train station to go into NYC. Custer service is consistently excellent. Only issue is with breakfast which the selections did not change during our 3 night stay. Staff said they would be expanding breakfast as their occupancy increases. Makes sense to me. I would st as y here again in a heart best.
