So glad I found this gem for the Labor Day weekend in 2022.

Prices: The prices were really good compared to other motels/hotels in the area.

Staff: Excellent. Everyone was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Wanted to shout out FDL (Front Desk Lady - she knows who she is) because she is awesome and funny (great sense of humor)!!!!!!

Wanted to note: It is on the quieter part of town, beach front, and walking distance to food, the convention center and Washington mall.

Got the efficiency room - the kitchenette was great, the entire room was recently remodeled. Love the the lights in the main room area, the AC unit was nice, the little backyard area was clean and well kept, free ice and the room was cozy. It was exactly what we needed for our vacation. It is not far from Wildwood as well (15-20 minute drive) We will definitely be back!

Thanks so much!
-Savira and Sam

My friend and I stayed at the Buckingham Motel. It is not a 5 star hotel, but reasonable for what we wanted to spend. It reminds me of the old motels of the 70s but fresher and updated. My first impression was "beachy". This is family owned and do what they can. The beds were comfortable. The little kitchen is not equipped with any utensils or dishes. There is a coffee maker and toaster, microwave, oven and refrigerator. No coffee or filters provided. We bought snacks and water to keep in the refrigerator. No shampoo or lotions provided, but I always bring my own. Ran out of toilet paper and to request it. Was delivered in minutes. Great porch outside the room. Also has grills, picnic tables, and lounge chairs. The notices as others have listed, are to save avoidable expenses for the family. Most family volunteers their time. It is such a quaint little place. If you don't need whistles and bells, it is very comfortable and affordable. It is right across the street from a great area of the beach and walking distance to restaurants.

The best thing about this motel is location. We had booked a room months in advance. They gave us room 7. The room was ok, but the worst was the bathroom!! It was disgusting! The bathtub was so stained, mildew everywhere. The faucets and shower so old and mildew as well. Toilet kept backing up..... We had no choice because they had no other rooms.
I hope they update the bathroom for the amount of money you pay in summer season.

Stayed here in late September. Interactions with the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, Inside it was a mix of old and new (some of the updates were very nice). We felt safe here but would have preferred a more substantial lock on the door.

Comfortable room with a gorgeous view of the Atlantic. Decent amenities in the room, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Pillows very hard. No ice maker and no house keeping except between guests. Office never open. Decent parking off street at the back of the hotel.

My young family and I decided to take a few days off and headed to CApe MAy with out a reservation. I was looking for something clean and affordable. I checked out prices of many large hotels and couldn't believe how high they were. Then I noticed this simple looking property and thought they can't be to expensive. I was right! My wife and I looked at some rooms before we made our desison. So CLEAN!! The rooms are up todate and really nice. They also have a one bedroom apartment that is amazing. We could have lived there! The staff makes you feel like one of the family. I think one of the owners was there the days we were- Crystal. She is a sweet woman that has a gentle, kind auroa about her. Our maid, Janet, made our kids feel like she was their Aunt! The Buckingham turns out to ALWAYS have cheaper rates. The desk women said they want people to be able to escape from home affordablely and for The motel- to be able to pay their mortgage!. It is nessesary for people to relax AWAY from home. With rates like theirs it makes it easy! We will be back to this simple, clean, friendly and affordable family run Motel on the Beachfront.

Can't beat the price or location of this one. Rooms all have kitchens, which was a huge bonus for us since we brought our small children. Motel is right across from the beach and a short walk into town. We'll be back for sure!

OK, so that's more than 1 word, but who's counting?

Anyway, don't overlook this place because it's quiet and unassuming..it'e exactly what you want in a getaway. The rooms are among the cleanest we've ever stayed in, and the front desk staff actually appears to be enjoying their guests, what a welcome site. While I was checking in, I saw the gentleman from the desk rush out to sweep up a broken baby food jar that an arriving guest had dropped..the guest offered to clean it...and the clerk said.."you're on vacation, that's my job" that's the kind of thing you remember in choosing a motel, we'll be back again, that's for sure.

Also, the rates for a Beach Ave. property are simply amazing... this place is a real find.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Buckingham Motel this past weekend. The place is a simple motel on the beachfront. They have great rates! The rooms are the cleanest I have Ever been in. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Don't overlook this place just because it is so plain on the outside, the inside is just right! We will return often.

My wife and I stayed at this small motel which is a little less expensive than others in town and in a quieter location. However, this was a bonus for us and with a great balcony sea view the sunrise was fantastic. Add the dolphins swimming offshore and beautiful sandy beach this is great place to unwind and relax. We found the room very clean and the beds comfortable. Our only disappointment - no coffee / milk provided and no hairdyer in the room. Would certainly go back again.

If you like beaches go across the street to enjoy the main cape may beaches. Soft white sand nice and clean. Turn left out of the motel and follow beach drive all way down to end - will take you to poverty beach. Another favorite but not as many people. Do you like history - go to sunset beach and stop off at the WWII fire watch tower. Stop at the state park and visit the lighthouse and get to see the WWII bunker they built up close - right on the beach.
