Spacious Skies French Pond Campground is a family-friendly campground located in beautiful southern New Hampshire, 5 miles north of Pats Peak. We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate any size trailer. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 20/30 or 50-amp electrical service, and sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome. Our campground is nestled deep in the forest, right on French Pond. Beach access offers swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boating, and fishing. We also have a salt-water pool for additional cooling off, and we can heat it too. A historied pavilion is available for activities, dancing, and more. Our rec hall is a callback to pure campground nostalgia-come in for the classic camp atmosphere, complete with vintage player piano. ATVs are welcome for rides on local trails.

This was our second stay at a Spacious Skies Campground and we had a great experience. Our site was a deluxe site and had a newly renovated fire pit, a nice cement pad and was a large site with grass. However, the grass was not mowed which was concerning for possible ticks on our kids and dog. We loved that the campground had activities for the kids (sand castle building contest) and a live band and food truck! The campground was busy but quite quiet for a long weekend. The office and pool area were extremely clean. However, the bathrooms by the safari field could use more cleaning attention. Overall, I would plan another weekend there.

We are visiting NH and thought about renting a trailer for a few days. We rented a Retro camper that slept 3 people, we only had 2 in our group. Checkin wasn’t great but we were a few minutes before closing time. We were a little rushed. The next morning we had many questions about wifi and how to work the stove. Plus the tub was dirty. They did send someone to show us how to do what we needed and cleaned the tub. The rest of the trailer was clean. Camp store hours are not good. They open at 9am, which is late and not convenient. They close at 7pm which is also very inconvenient. Overall it wasn’t bad just a few things.

Just to set the stage, my husband and I have been camping for over ten years, we go every other weekend from mid-May to the end of October to different parks; we have NEVER had an issue packing our travel trailer. When we arrived at the site my husband attempted to park the trailer, after almost an hour in four wheel drive trying over 6 different angles avoiding trees, stumps and backing up hill, we became extremely frustrated. I went to the office and asked if there was another site and it was impossible for us to get into the site. I was told the site was rated for a 40 ft. unit, ours is 24. The attendant contacted two employees and they came over to help us. After an hour and 15 minutes we were finally in the site. On Sunday when we were ready to leave we developed our plan of attack and started to pull out. Once again we were faced with an unbearable situation; two fellow campers came to our rescue. After about a hour and coming within 6 inches of two trees we were finally on the road. Now just to let you know we were not the only ones to have difficulty, the Camper 2 sites down from us were in the Office when I went into the store asking for a different site because they could not get their unit parked, once again the employees were called and they were able to get into the site, hopefully they made it out without to much difficulty.

10/10 would not recommend. Pay for things you never receive like wood(not allowed to bring in wood from outside the grounds though!) / Propane/ etc- If you go and ask about the things you’ve paid for the guy in charge (Bob) curses and disrespects you… Place is run down and looks nothing like the pictures. All of the “boating” options listed aren’t even available (all broken and sitting at the docks) Mini golf course is run down and looks nasty. Pool is never clean and certainly never heated. Lake is not swimmable as it’s all overgrown with weeds and hasn’t been cleaned out in years. Playground is none-operational (Everything is broken) Don’t waste your money as it’s all none refundable (I wonder why)

If you go there, make sure you don't cancel. They will charge you big time. I did drop by the campground and it was pretty ratty. The swimming area, beach was over grown with weeds so there is no swimming. Tight spaces, all crammed in. Just not a very nice place. I would not recommend.

This is our second time staying here. We love the mostly wooded spots (a few are open), concrete picnic table area, new fireplace and the quiet. They have a pond and pool but we don’t use either. The playground looks great. Wood chips and plenty of toys. The entrance is a cute country road surrounded by trees and then you see the office/store area. A rustic building with a porch. There’s a little store, sitting area and game room. Looks very new. The campground is clean. Spaces are generous. We had an issue with the sewer hookup but the gentleman came out right away and fixed it. Another very nice man was leveling out sites after the winter. We asked if we moved our trailer would he do our spot, he said of course. He kindly waited while we hooked up and readied the site. The office staff are wonderful. Very friendly and so helpful. We are enjoying our stay so far. Planning to stay for the summer. There are a few what looks like full timers but their sites are neat and clean. There are plenty of things to do and places to eat and shop.

I would not recommend this place unless you need to stay for just a night. Dirty bathrooms and laundry area. Not kept up at all. Not in a great location, out in a rural area. Go elsewhere in my opinion. We stayed 5 nights paid ahead of time so we were stuck.

We like to try different campgrounds in the New England area. This one looked very nice on their website. Upon arrival: you pull up to what appears to be an office located in someones home. The grounds are not well kept, the office was sub-standard and the office staff was friendly. The pool was not very clean, surrounded by unorganized chairs that are in disrepair. Beyond the pool is a pavilion area with picnic tables that need some TLC, pieces of broken bricks, concrete blocks, broken broom, and a dirty grill. The pavillion could use a little TLC and would be very nice. The restrooms were o.k. We had hoped to play miniature golf but it appeared as though it hasn't been maintained in quite some time. Approximately 90% of the campground seems to be for seasonal campers. The majority of the sites are very wooded and dark with very little grass. The only open areas are in what is called the safari sites. One would assume that safari sites might mean grassy area? Not so! The safari sites are in a gravel parking lot. Behind the safari sites there are some grassy areas for tenters with woods beyond that for more tenters. There are horseshoe pits located near the gravel safari sites. The grass in mowed however nothing is trimmed so there is high grass around your hookup, the builidngs, horseshoe pits, the pool, etc. There is supposed to be a quiet time.....11p.m. However, we had to listen to loud music and people talking around a fire until 12:30 at night. Needless to say, our stay here was not a restful relaxing camping trip!:(

Could be a nice place but the current owners are more concerned with simply making money than about the guests. They didn't care about enforcing their own rules (unless it is about only buying their wood) The owner showed up at a neighboring site inebriated and using such foul language i had to send my six year old niece into the camper. He was threatening to kick out these people for bringing in wood even though the wood he sells is still wet. 2 fire starters and a bottle of lighter fluid later and I barley had a fire going. Not to mention the pond was closed by the state due to a toxic bateria and the campground continued to rent canoes and didnt post any signs informing people to stay ot of the water.

My family stayed here almost 3 months. Initially told our site wouldn't be under construction until 9/1. Lived in an ongoing construction zone around us, however, for most of our stay, sometimes within just feet of our RV. Woken up on countless occasions to loud construction, our water being turned off with no notice/communication, no working laundry facilities, etc. Then 9 days before our planned departure date, we were told to move sites. With 2 days notice. But my husband was working all weekend at the hospital and I was sick with strep throat. Didn't matter to Howard, who informed us to be out or he would call the police. (he said the cement truck was scheduled to be at our site, but very interesting that they hadn't even built the wooden frame to pour it into yet????? So that seems a blatant lie) Never even gave us a new site number to move to for the remaining week we had already
paid for. After being treated so poorly, we left the campground a week early, with of course zero compensation. In 4 years of fulltime RV'ing across the country, we have never ever experienced anything like this. Appalled to be threatened by the cops when we did nothing wrong!!! Their communication, customer service, and hospitality are all deplorable. Will
never stay at any Spacious Skies again. Save yourself the aggravation and steer clear!!!!!

Chris, it is understood, based on your public reviews, that you are dissatisfied with the decisions we are making with our campground. As we continue to state, it is our intention to complete projects as quickly as possible, while ensuring they are done properly. We do understand that changes of all sorts can feel very challenging especially during a transitional period. The transitions we are making are for the benefit of our campers by making improvements to facility offerings, site quality, and amenities. We wish you and your family the best at your future camping locations. Camp on!
