Detailed Reviews
Henniker House had a cozy, homey feel. Alison makes you feel right at home and makes plentiful breakfasts. They are thoughtful about COVID protocol and had different parts of the house sectioned off. We were the only guests staying in the “Victorian” side of the house, in the Front Room, and always felt safe. A pity that we could not hang out in the solarium, due to COVID, because it is a very pretty room. If you have well behaved kids that won’t break stuff, this is family appropriate, but do be careful because there are a lot of breakable decorations.
The Front Room is lovely, and we had a look at the other rooms, which have stunning views of the river.
Ted the poodle is fun as well!
We stayed so we could be close to Pats Peak to ski. It’s about a 5 min drive.

My son and I had the pleasure of staying overnight at Henniker House in the course of a long distance bicycle trip. We were glad we did. The location, right on the edge of a bend in the Contoocook river is delightful and our hosts were at once welcoming and helpful.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Henniker House. The house is beautiful and impeccably clean, and our room was very comfortable for four (clean, spacious, comfortable beds, fluffy towels, pretty view, quiet, etc.). The inn is conveniently located and Alison is a warm and welcoming host. We stayed there while skiing at Pats Peak and Alison went above and beyond to help us with our tickets and rentals. The filling breakfast is served in a sun-drenched room over looking the river and the food is delicious - my children are still talking about Alison's baked oatmeal! I highly recommend a stay at Henniker House!

What a beautiful place; a perfect getaway. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and the entire house is kept very clean. I recommend bringing your favorite pair of slippers to wear during you stay since your shoes are left at the door! The town is adorable, the people are nice, and their are lots of activities year round! We can't wait to go back.

We recently stayed @ Henniker House B&B for 2 weeks to be near family & a new grandchild, & enjoyed our stay immensely. Allison is a gregarious & welcoming host, & an accomplished inn keeper. The Balcony Room is large & comfortable with a/c, multichannel TV, & lovely view of the river. Breakfast is simple, but delicious: eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes, fresh fruit & very good coffee. Located in “downtown “ Henniker, close to shops, restaurants, ice cream & New England College. A good choice that we hope to visit again.

My 89 year old mother and I stayed there for a family wedding weekend, and Henniker House exceeded my expectations. The rooms are spotless and quaint. The breakfast is SUPER delicious. The grounds are beautiful. The Inn has a quiet and relaxing environment, and the hosts were very accommodating and fun to chat with.

We only stayed one night but could have enjoyed it for much longer if we didn’t need to move on. Our room was clean and furnished with old New England dressers and bed. The mattress was firm and comfortable. The sitting areas were interesting with all the historical items and art. There’s a large outside deck overlooking the river which is perfect for lounging and snoozing. The host were welcoming and accommodating. Excellent all around. Ted, the resident standard poodle, is also a great friendly host. We had a wonderful full breakfast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely inn in this charming town! We were here during foliage season, and it was just gorgeous. The Henniker House sits just above a river, and has a deck overlooking it, which I'm sure we would have enjoyed had the weather been warmer. Alison and Ray provided great information about the area. Breakfasts were delicious, filling, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the Henniker House.

The spacious River Room overlooks the Contoocock. Super. And Allison's breakfasts were so generous, we had to ask her to back off our portions. We barely had room for our family feasts.
Bonus - a mah-johngg lesson with her friends.
