Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We needed a place to stay on a road trip to Death Valley, and this was just that. No frills, believe me. Beds comfortable. Room smelled heavily of air freshener. Check the towels. One of ours was not clean. Also noticed TV set was taped to hold it together. Convenient to our travel route, and we had a car, easy for us to get meals. But this is no place to stay for long.

If you don't smoke make sure you get a non-smoking room, they put me in a smoking room (I'm not sure why) and it just completely stunk. Old TV sets, very unreliable internet and it's a 15 minute drive from the strip and my first night cost me $80 and the second night cost $100. Not worth it at all. Download the Air BnB app if you're looking for Accomodation in Vegas and all the big hotels are booked out. Life is too short for stays like this. The guy at the front desk was very nice to me though.

I wrote a rather bad sounding review last time, more than a year ago, and would like to re write with new thoughts in a rather formal way, not really.

My family and I would stay here every time we came to Vegas, because my dad knew the owner even before he had us as family. But anyway...

The rooms are a-OK, sometimes clean, sometimes there would be hairs, filth, and dirt, but I cannot complain since, it has a lower price and it's more of a truckers' motel and stay-one-night-on-the-way kind of motel. There is free Wi-FI though, a rarity in Las Vegas.

The area is good, there's a TA across the street, along with a Subway, Burger King, and some taco place. Going to Blue Diamond Rd, there's a Jack in The Box, and a little after it, there's a little shopping center with Target, Ross and a whole lot of stores in it. Good options for food and nessesities and a convenient distance.

Now, with management, every time we came, the guy in charge would treat us like if we were gonna rob the place or something. Same thing each morning whenever I would go get donuts (yes in the lobby there's donuts and coffee in the mornings).

Why am I giving this place 3 stars? For the management and the fact that at times the rooms would be filthy.

They should change the room types from "smoking" and "non-smoking" to "smoker" and "non-smoker."

Since the clerk saw my wife smoking as we were walking up to the office, he would not allow us to book a "non-smoking" room. In fact, he was quite terse and rude about it. When I told him that I was a non-smoker, and that she does not smoke indoors, he still could not allow us to have a non-smoking room. He snidely said that smokers make the room smell, just by being in there, and that they especially breathe into the pillows, making them stink. When I told him I thought that was kind of a stupid policy, he told me it was not stupid, and that maybe I was the one who was stupid. I wonder, since a lot of people sweat on them, why they don't just clean the pillows? Yuck!!

He also refused to give us room rates, or to even tell us if a room was available, until after check-in time, which is at 1:00.

How do you run a business successfully if you are rude to your potential customers? I can tell you that this pair of military veterans & truck drivers will NEVER pay a penny of our hard earned money to stay at this place. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Planning on staying here think again. Front desk people won't accomodate you. I'm a single woman traveling alone. I took a cab from the mgm grand back to this hotel. My fair total was 17.50 to pay the cab. I had a 20's but no 5's. I had a 10 and two 1's. I asked the cab driver to exchange four fives for a 20 to give him correct change. He got mad and said you owe me you have to pay. I told him I was going to pay but needed change. He started cussing at me and calling me names. He drives around the other side of the hotel running meter to 18.50 on purpose. He asks how much money do you have screaming. I said I'll just run to the front desk for change. He started yelling. I yelled back at him he was very disrespectful. Then he said ok give me the 20. I gave him the 20 expecting change of four fives back. Therefore I'd give him a ten, five, two ones, including 50 cents. He snatched the money did not give me my change. He called me names I can't mention on this site telling me I have to pay. AFTER I JUST PAID HIM. He only gave me 1.50 back in change when he was supposed to give me 2.50. I went off back on him myself and cursed him out. He comes over to my door telling me to get out getting in my face like he was going to fight me. I got back in his face and cussed him out. He was trying to hustle me. He wanted the whole 20. The drive from mgm grand to highland inn was only 5 minutes. Think about this 17.50 just to drive you down the street not fair.

I called the front desk and asked if he heard anything he said no. I told him what happened and asked if they had security cameras to obtain cab numbers and company name and report to las vegas taxi authority. The guy at the front desk told me there were no cameras. HE LIED! Cameras were everywhere. Camera computers were right at his desk.

Next day I went to the front desk it was a different person. I told him what happened. He didn't want to help me he was rude. He didn't care told me to call police if I wanted something done.

Later on I spoke to the manager he did not want to help me. He was rude and walked away from me. This incident happened on his property he refused to investigate it.

To add to it the toilet seat in my room was broke. I asked for a non smoking room they gave me a smoking room. The room was filthy. Customer service was deplorable.

To anyone thinking of staying here because its cheap I wouldn't recommend it. These people are very disrespectful especially to women.

It isn't a four star property. BUT, it is a great value. It is about three miles from the strip. But priced right. If you have a car and aren't all about being on the strip. This is a great place. All rooms open to the outside. The 'look' of the hotel may not be fantastic - it is near a truckstop - but the value is great!

We have been around a bit in Nevada, Arizona and Utah, and this was possibly the worst Motel of them all, a bit run down, no coffee in room. The noise was dramatic with an airplane passing overhead every 2 min until midnight and started again at 0600, in the quite hours there were lots of noise from trucks, motorcycles and cars, so if you want to rest don't stay here. The Wifi was hopeless and only functioned part of the time. On the positive side the person at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful.

We were laid over for a day and found this place across from the TA. Clean room, fridge, working tv and great water pressure are just a few of the perks. Nothing fancy but we weren't looking for that. Just a room to stay in so we did not have to run our semi truck. The front desk gentleman was very accommodating since we have a 70 lb Boxer dog. They usually only allow pets 25 lbs and under. But all in all, a very nice place dispite some of the negative feedback that I read.
Silverton Casino is within walking distance. Burger King, TacoTime and Subway are across the street in the TA.

I have stayed at this motel a few times...
I think its a great little place if your just looking to lay your head down
The rooms are clean the bed was comfortable!
The front desk guy is very nice!!
The internet works but I did have an issue with it cutting out quite a bit....
It is about a 10/15min drive to the strip so If your not driving that can be inconvent!!!
Over all its not bad for the price $45
