This place and its location are awesome. It is in a smaller town though still has what you need.
There was a nearby liquor store though they also have a very good restaurant and bar in the lobby of the hotel, though it is a full size restaurant.
All of the employees including front desk personnel were very professional, friendly, and helpful.
The room I reserved exceeded my expectations and had all I needed in addition to being comfortable and clean.
I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel. I stayed as a midway point between where I landed a Bozeman/Gallatin Field Airport before leaving to go Jackson Hole, WY the next day.

This is one of the nicest Holiday Inn hotels I've stayed at in recent years. I was immediately impressed with the service and cleanliness of the hotel and the location near many shops and restaurants in "downtown" West Yellowstone was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is also just a few miles away from the West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

The hotel was very open in their communications about the services that were provided or not provided due to local restrictions for the COVID-19 pandemic. The hotel's efforts dealing with the pandemic made me feel very safe while staying at the hotel.

My room was spacious and clean, and very comfortable. Although the hotel is located on a main street, it was very quiet inside. Service was excellent by everyone I came in contact with during my stay.

The Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone looks like many of the lodges in West Yellowstone, except for the Holiday Inn sign. The hotel sits on the extended centerline of the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. So, all you do is drive out of the hotel parking lot and get in line for the park, which is only about a mile away. Nice rooms and friendly staff. I was there three nights and since they were doing room service on request, I was able to do a daily towel exchange without issue. Dinning was through an adjacent restaurant, The Branch Restaurant and Bar, which you could have your meals put on your room tab. There was an inside swimming pool available for guests.

Big clear signs on how they are being careful with COVID-19. Awesome— hand sanitizer!! They are so sanitized they threw customer service out the window. I am paying full price for just a bed and bathroom.

While never beneath me, we had to make our own beds, throw out the trash, go and find fresh towels, not have access to the very limiting and random pool appoint process, the gym, or even morning coffee. But that is not the worst part.

The worst part was the poor customer service from their front desk staff. I get we are in odd times, but this is when you have to flex your customer service muscles and be fans of your guests—not that they acted with indifference and rude attitude!

The part that hits me the worst is that one of the reasons why we chose this hotel was for the pool. A great way to get two boys to cool off and chill after long days at Yellowstone park. But we ended up not being allowed to reserve despite the pool barely having full usage. I checked multiple times during any of the given “fully booked” pool times and found that we could have had access despite the front desk saying it was booked. A waste and two really bummed out boys.

I run multi- million dollar operations and am familiar with what it takes to serve customers. There are so many “you could’ve dones” and still have a chance to do. But I have lost faith as it seems that management must be blind to the effect this is having on your guests.

I’ve been an IHG member for years and this is worse overall experience ever. I will be sure to tell world.

From a veteran and experienced hospitality professional, I am alerting you, that it will be best that anyone looking to stay in West Yellowstone put their time and money elsewhere. This Holiday Inn is not going to deliver! If you wish to contact me to discuss, reply and I will oblige.

Hi Eduardo P, I'm sorry to hear your disappointment about the pool being closed and with the limited service offered during your stay. Our hotels are well-equipped with training and additional COVID-19 related guidelines to ensure the safety of the guests and employees. I'm concerned that you saw us on a different note. No worries, I went ahead and prompted the hotel's management about your concerns. In line with this, do know that I sent out a private message to further reach out to you. Despite the setbacks mentioned on your review, I hope you find your way back to us should your travels bring you again to the area for a chance to make your stay better than the last. Best, Ronald R. We stayed in a family suite on the 3rd floor. We had to use the elevator when we arrived to take our luggage upstairs. After waiting for a few minutes an employee came out of the elevator with several bags of trash. Liquid from the trash stayed on the elevator’s floor when he left and the elevator stank. The elevator stopped on the 2nd floor and an employee with bottles of shampoo wanted to enter the elevator. He smelled the elevator and decided to use the stairs. When we arrived at the 3rd floor an employee with carts of towels was waiting to use the elevator. There does not seem to be an elevator for staff and housekeeping keeps supplies by the elevator. We tried to use the elevator one more time and had a similar experience so we gave up and used the stairs.

The room had 2 beds and in a separate room there was another bed. One bathroom as you enter the room. The setup could have been better if the bathroom was in the middle because if people in the master bedroom need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night they wake up those in the main room.

Also, someone decided to place the smoke detector with a fairly bright light over one of the beds which made sleeping difficult.

Wallpaper was coming off the wall. The room needs to be updated. The vent in the bathroom was extremely noisy. I found the room somewhat gross.

In addition, I thought that the town was too touristy. Next time we’ll start our Yellowstone adventure in a different town.

Hello VioletPurpl, Thanks for staying with us and for leaving a review. I am sad and sorry to learn about how housekeeping staff use the elevators. I also regret to learn about the room layout that affected your overall satisfaction. I have taken note of your comments and shared them with management for review to make necessary actions to address these concerns. I hope you give us a chance to host you again in the future. We stayed here from 4/24/21 to 4/29/21 for 5 nights. Rate was reasonable at $130 per night. It was fairly full but still very quiet most of the times since Yellowstone had just opened up the week prior. We couldn’t be happier about the location, since it’s less than a 5 minutes’ drive to the west park entrance on the very same road. You can also walk to the small downtown area where there are souvenir shops, restaurants, a museum, a visitor center and easy access to gas station and a supermarket. Nearby is a McDonald’s where we got our drive through breakfast and coffee daily before venturing out into the park. The hotel itself has a restaurant near the lobby called The Branch that we tried once. We stayed on the 3rd floor as that was the floor with minimal noise. The hotel and rooms were warm inside (around 70 degrees) even though it was 20-30 F outside. We stayed 5 nights and get only one housekeeping service, available on one requested day maximum. No breakfast was provided, not even grab and go or prepackaged meal, so plan for McDonalds or one of the nearby restaurants to start your morning each day. Also, you need to call the front desk to ask for additional supplies like towels or toilet paper and then pick up at front desk. The toilet and stand up shower were decent sized and there was a spacious double sink with lots of counter space outside of the bathroom, which was a nice plus. The only minor complaint is one night during a heavy snow and rainstorm, there were loud noises from the rooftop but it went away after a while. Also, the bedsheet had some stains on it and the bathroom had some rusted and dirty areas on bathroom doorframe that needed cleaning and maintenance. The hotel has a heated pool and 24 hour gym that we didn’t use. Late April travel to Yellowstone was a great experience for us since it was not crowded and we seemed to have the whole town and whole park for ourselves (though some park roads were still closed). Our original choice for lodging was the “1872 Inn” down the street, but they didn’t open until mid to late May. I often stay at 5-star hotels during my birthday week , but I enjoyed our 5-Star Yellowstone vacation in the park each day with its stunning views with great help from the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone which made access the park a breeze!

During Covid, room cleanness and convenience to finding food are the most important factors during our trip to Yellowstone. Glad that Holiday Inn West Yellowstone meets our need for a clean family room. The family suite was on the first floor as requested with an easy access to entrance. A second room was quite small, and connected to a typical double queen bed room. The bathroom was also on the small end but with a tub -- great for our toddler. The double sinks were outside the bathroom and close to door. The hotel even offered free grab and go option for breakfast (water + granola bar + orange), which was much appreciated. Many great restaurants were close-by within walking distance. My biggest complaint was the thin wall and floor that noise can be easily heard. We had barking dogs next to us and busy steps above us at 10 pm, not fun. A minor thing is that heater/AC worked well but can be loud during night.

Loved it! It was our first time in Montana visiting Yellowstone park. I can’t wait to go back.

I found this hotel because we are IHG members and it met my expectations. We always request a room by the elevator and stayed in a two queen bed standard room on the third floor. Our room was fairly large and roomy. (Room 310) I was told that the ground floor rooms are for those with pets. I also used our AAA discount and received a better rate.

Everything about our room was above board. My only observation was that the two sink vanity was not located inside the bathroom area. There was a good sized walk-in shower and a toilet in there, so no room for a sink. I’m not sure if this was the original design or if it was renovated this way but it’s a distraction having the sink in the main room only because the lighting was bright. I usually complain that the vanity lighting isn’t bright enough but in this case it was (overly) efficient!! This is not a big deal since we only stayed for two nights. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’d rather of had the sink inside the bathroom.

I did notice that the toiletries they provided all came from different brands, as if they were trying to use up whatever they had on hand. Not a big deal. What I mean is they provided lotion from Bath and Body Works, conditioning shampoo from Pure and some other brand’s conditioner. This conditioner looked as if it had been partially used because the bottle didn’t appear full, but maybe that’s how it is. I posted pictures, so you can see for yourself, it’s the little green bottle on the left in the back. I am thankful that they also provided make-up remover wipes, one bar of soap, Purell hand sanitizing wipes plus Purell individual hand sanitizer. That was cool!

The beds were comfy and there were 4 pillows on each bed. The neat thing was that they labeled each pillow as firm or soft right on the pillowcase! See my picture. The TV had DIRECTV with many channels to suit anyone’s fancy. There was also a microwave and refrigerator.

We also ate at the Branch, the restaurant located in the hotel. We had mozzarella sticks, a Philly with homemade cheese sauce and chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. I also had Huckleberry cheesecake, which was fantastic! So I ate two slices. (Not all at once!) The Philly sandwich was salty but the chicken fried steak was delicious. It came recommended by Chuck, the bartender and I had it his way, with mashed potatoes and vegetables on the side.

Overall, a great hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff. It’s close to shops and other restaurants. I recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

My husband and I spent 1 night here after spending time in YNP. This was an ideal area to stay just right outside the west entrance of the park. We were welcomed warmly checking in. The restaurant was not open due to Covid 19 but there were restaurants within walking distance. Though the room was a bit dated it was comfortable and quiet. The room was a bit pricey but I felt more comfortable booking at a chain during these Covid times as their cancellation policies are much more generous.

Bonus was when we were pulling out if this small town we saw a beautiful fox run across the road!
