We stayed only 2 nights (unfortunately!) in West Yellowstone and we are delighted to have chosen the Alpine Motel, which turned out to be one of the best accommodations of the whole trip. Everything works perfectly here. Its location is very central and convenient for entering the park and to reach the restaurants. The car is easily parked near the room and in a moment you unload your luggage. The room, with two double beds, is large and comfortable, spotless, fragrant and equipped with everything you need. The rates are very competitive, almost unbeatable for the services offered. The added value of the Alpine Motel are Brian and Patty, two loving and caring people, who love their work and know the art of hospitality very well. Brian welcomed us, an excellent host, illustrating everything with a wealth of information and giving us valuable advice on places to dine or have breakfast. Hot drinks and many tasty snacks are always available at the reception. If you need ice you ask for it and Brian brings it already sealed in the cooler bags. Rarely have I found so much availability and customer focus, Alpine Motel has been a home away from home. Reservation was made directly with the property, everything very simple. Thank you for finding availability having booked with little advance for August. I can only (stra) recommend this Motel to everyone!

We had a fantastic stay at the Alpine Motel as our base for our trip to Yellowstone. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations in the area. My kids enjoyed the personalized instruction on how to find the kids’ shows as well as where to locate the lobby snacks. We had the kitchen unit which was stocked with the dishes and pots and pans needed for our stay. Everything was immaculately clean. The location was centrally located in West Yellowstone within walking distance of everything we needed in town and as an added bonus, very close to the parade route for the July 4th celebration. We would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

The small Motel is family-run. The owners are super friendly, helpful with everything and very eager to provide their guests with a small but fine and really clean accommodation. Unfortunately, this is not a given in the States. No Motel on our three-week trip made me feel more comfortable than here.
By the way, from early in the morning until late at night, hot drinks (coffee, tea and cocoa) and small snacks are available free of charge at the reception.
Restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

Look no further, unbeatable value for money.
First the welcome 5.5 * Brian is super friendly he accompanies you to your room and explains everything: how the air conditioning, heating, TV, where are the restaurants.....
Nothing luxurious in the room but everything is functional. At the reception there is a microwave, if necessary, coffee and lots of treats and snacks for the day. The wifi works very well and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is small (for usa ) but the shower is invigorating.
Nights are quiet, no noise after 10.00pm guests are the picture of the place.
We park outside the gate and the city of West Yellowstone is around you, the entrance to the park is two miles away.
In short we had booked for one night, we stayed there 3 nights and left the motel with many regrets.

The best lodging if you want to visit Yellowstone for a few days. We were here for 4 nights in early August after reading reviews here. Brian & Patty are the hosts everyone would love to encounter when choosing a small inn for lodging. Some of the amenities we most appreciated include: fresh coffee in the lobby; complimentary ice for small cooler; complimentary snack bars in the lobby; and probably best of all -- Brian presenting us with a map of the area highlighting nearby dining options. This is not a fancy hotel, so no luxurious bathroom, but you won't find lodging that is as clean and well-maintained anywhere. It's clear that this lovely couple take great pride in providing a superior product at a very reasonable cost. This was a fantastic choice for early entry to Yellowstone each day, where we were blessed to see much wildlife, including the special treat of seeing a couple of momma grizzlies with their cubs. We spent 3 full days visiting Yellowstone and honestly could have gone a couple more days. P.S. - Don't forget to bring some decent binoculars with you to the park. We would not hesitate to reserve lodging here at the Alpine Motel in future travels to Yellowstone. Helpful tip: Ernie's Bakery & Deli has a website for pre-ordering great lunches to bring along with you to the park allowing for a lovely lunch at one of the many picnic areas throughout the park.

My husband and I stayed at the Alpine Motel. It was absolutely wonderful. The price was reasonable. The owners were great. The room was nice and clean. We weren’t there much just to sleep and take a shower. The owner gave us great advice on places to go outside of Yellowstone. It was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend staying here for couples individuals or families very affordable centrally located to everything and you’re right by the park entrance

A superb, older motor motel with very clean, modern and quiet rooms. I was looking for a smaller property outside the west entrance of Yellowstone and found this little gem. The rooms are very spacious, with very clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice overhead fan for air circulation and the rooms are warm when heat is needed. The owners have a great little office area with fresh coffee and hot water for tea or cider available at all time and small granola treats, candy and small goodies for a snack. Well worth the stay. Super friendly owner.

Managers are the strong point: good, nice and helpful. Kindness is the norm. The rooms are discreet, have more or less everything you need and parking in front. The price is high and breakfast is not included, although snacks and coffee are available to taste. The location is great for those staying several days in the park.

"Hi Buddy" is the first thing you hear when you enter the lobby; after reading other reviews that seems to be Brians trademark ;-)
To summarize (and repeat) our experience and those of previous guests:
- spotless clean room (we have done a 9 week road trip through 22 states, I know what I'm talking about!).
- the room is not a ball room, but you have everything you need.
- parking in front of your room.
- any questions are promptly answered, wishes fulfilled.
- within walking distance of restaurants, bars, breakfast opportunities, shops,...
- 3 minutes drive to the West entrance of Yellowstone NP.
- ice, snacks, coffee available in the lobby.
- quiet rooms to get a good nights sleep after a long day of driving and hiking in the NP.
For us this was the perfect stay with the feel of being near a NP: a cabin with no fuss but still all the comfort you need.
If there was a place like this in every city/town/village we spent one ore more nights, I would always go for it!

This was our 2nd time staying at the Alpine Motel. We were so impressed with everything about our stay last summer, it was our first choice when we planned our return trip to the area this summer. The location is perfect for walking to stores and restaurants. The rooms are cozy and very clean, the AC and ceiling fan work quite well during the heat in July, and the small frig has a freezer section to refreeze your ice packs. The owners, Brian and Patty, keep the entire area so neat and happily provide ice, extra supplies, and great restaurant recommendations. We can’t say enough about how helpful and accommodating the owners are! They make you feel so welcome - just perfect for relaxing and enjoying a peaceful evening after a busy day exploring the area. Tom and Lisa

We were just there from 9/30-10/3. The first 2 days were great - sunny and 60's, but the last two days were chilly with a cold rain. The lack of crowds is great but many of the park restrooms, visitor centers, etc close mid Sept. Also I believe many West Yellowstone businesses close for the season the second or third week of Oct.
