I don’t really know how to describe the beauty of this place and the fabulous people who work there! The sounds of nature surround the ranch and you can see forever just stunning! It only has 7 rooms which makes it so intimate ...the staff is small and they are always available to help with anything ,arrange fishing, hikes etc. we love hiking and they were knowledgeable with what was available due to weather conditions. Chef Chris is amazing he accommodated my dietary needs, very flexible and the food is fabulous! They will pack you a lunch if you are going to be gone all day. They have snacks out all day and water always available . Great wine list and beer selection. Jill and McKenzie are very attentive servers so sweet. Chris the manager is amazing rook us up to the top of the mountain in his Jeep to witness the incredible views on the ranch! It really is a special place . About a 40 min drive from Bozeman which is a great town with lovely restaurants and shops. We stayed one night at the Kimpton Armory which was fabulous !

Unforgettable vacation! We rented the entire ranch out for a bachelorette party weekend, and it couldn't have been any better. While I don't expect the staff was likely used to groups of 13 girls coming to visit for a bachelorette, the welcomed us warmly, and took amazing care of us. Chef Chris kept us extremely well fed, and the rest of the staff whipped up incredible Margaritas, and shuttled us to a wide variety of activities including tubing on the local river, skeetshooting, flyfishing, and even hosted a pottery class.

The house itself is gorgeous, so many bedrooms I've lost count, with several porches, comfortable couches to enjoy the view from, and even has a small gym. The house is extremely remote, off of a paved route, so if it's the perfect place to truly getaway. We constantly saw deer, rabbits, and wildbirds, and relaxed in the evenings in the hot tub, having a drink on the beautiful wrap-around porch, or taking walks along the road to watch the sunset.

Great place for a family reunion, and for taking a break from city life. Would absolutely recommend staying here for the beautiful views, amazing staff, and top notch accommodations.

This out of the way ranch is truly a gem! The lovely accommodations, surrounding property, and array of activities are only part of the story. The amazing staff at the ranch are make truly special, along with the extraordinary service and well-prepared gourmet level food. I won’t name all of the standouts because each team member was a stand out from the fishing guides to chefs, housekeeping and all others.

We enjoyed fly fishing (a first for our family), horseback riding, a pottery class and plenty of games with other guests.

So happy we found this place! We will be back!

GRC is a wonderful place to stay…close to the airport…but feels miles away from civilization!
The 8 or so guest rooms are unique but equally lovely and comfortable…and the surrounding property seems to never end. Great hiking/walks and mountain biking are right outside the door. Beautiful vistas and wildlife sightings are frequent from the verandas.
As a first time fly fisher, I didn’t know what to expect and had nothing to compare with…but doubt I could have had a better experience.
Kendra is a great guide and teacher…and watching her handle our boat in the current…wow!
A “must-do”is a fun float trip down the Madison. Our group did one every day and had a blast every time!
Chef Lisa’s banana coffee cake and Chef Chris’ barbecued bison short ribs were alone worth the trip!
Go and enjoy the wide open spaces at a 5 star
Spot!

Just got back from a fabulous vacation at Grey Cliffs Ranch. This ranch is top notch, from the rooms to the decor to the amazing views! Situated on over 5,000 secluded acres, GCR is a peaceful, relaxing paradise. We stayed in the two room suite. The beds were so comfy, I slept like a baby. We enjoyed horseback riding, shooting and fly fishing while we were here. Every meal was made with love and so delicious, the type of food you’d find in a 5 star restaurant!! Everyone working at the ranch was so nice, friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to come back again!!

We just hosted my wife's 60th birthday gathering over 3 days at Grey Cliffs Ranch...what a great place! Feeding and watering 18 guests from all over the country over the 3 days, dealing with a group of experienced travelers, while remaining friendly, personable, and upbeat, the lodge people (staff seems too impersonal) were simply wonderful, and worked together like the proverbial well-oiled machine! Top-notch food and drink, fishing, hiking, pottery, massage, horseback riding, and a great time in very, very comfortable and beautiful surroundings...I couldn't recommend it more highly! #greycliffsranch #greycliffsranchmontana

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the GCR in the bunk house and had the best of both worlds. Completely private with a full kitchen and wonderful views of the property and just steps away from the lodge and wonderful hospitality, chef and bar. The lodge host MacKenzie went out of her way to accommodate our every need and Chef Chris was wonderful and created a variety of dishes beautifully presented. Five stars to both! Fishing was outstanding as was touring this incredible 6000 acre ranch. We highly recommend GCR for a peaceful getaway and only 40 minutes from Bozeman.

We were inspired to visit Grey Cliff after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. From the first phone call with Chris, we knew we were in great hands. He and Licia make this a phenomenal guest experience.
Driving in, the ranch was more remote than we expected. But it's a gorgeous drive along the Madison River. And once you see the lodge, it's totally worth the drive.
We happened to be there during an unusual weather pattern with rain and clouds for a few days. We made the most of it by doing pottery with Licia in her studio, shooting clay pigeons with Chris, and generally hanging around the lodge to relax. When the sun came out on our final evening, we quickly ran out to take photos around the two lovely ponds.
We had a temporary chef during our stay, Rex, who cooked delicious meals and provided a lot of personality. The food, wine and service were excellent!
Last, the bed, bedding, bathroom products and towels are all of the highest quality. There are nice laundry facilities if needed and a hot tub to enjoy.
We really hope to return to this very special location, and we truly thank Chris, Licia and Rex for a wonderful stay.

Even given your fondest dreams, you will not believe what awaits you at Grey Cliffs Ranch. From your first contact with Chris, the manager, to when you wave "goodbye" to first-class lodging and gloriously relaxing scenery, you'll be hooked.

Inside the immaculately kept residence (thank you, Mary!), furnished with comfortable and tasteful surroundings, you'll feel like this is truly your Montana home away from home. Peace reigns along side the elk, coyotes, and eagles. Not a rapper on a boom box for miles!

The GCR staff is without peer. Rory, the superb and jovial chef, prepares cuisine to die for. Carefully selecting his meats, fruits, and vegetables, he performs gustatorial magic before your very eyes! Tracy, a seasoned guide who knows trout and how to catch them, can show you where to see the abundant wildlife and wide-open landscapes bathed in fresh air and sunshine.

At first blush, the total cost appears on the higher end of most budgets, but when you factor in the fabulous meals, professional service and attention, elegant accommodations and the blissful isolation from traffic and hassles, it's the deal of a lifetime.

No doubt in our minds, Grey Cliffs Ranch ranks at the top of the list for the best staff, accommodations, and deal within hundreds of miles of the Bozeman area.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful! We enjoyed the amazing meals Chef Chris prepared and visiting with the ranch staff before and after meals. They have binoculars and a telescope to watch the wildlife. My teenagers had a blast clay shooting and we went white water rafting another day. Thank you to everyone for an amazing vacation!
