Detailed Reviews

First saw the pictures of the beautiful flowers and booked a room for 4 days for our anniversary... The owner was very friendly telling me about places to eat and things to see in the area.. rooms were small but clean. Bedding could use some updating. Had a great time!!

I have stayed at the Sunset Motel and enjoyed my stay immensely! The owner-operators, Mike and Amy Miller, are extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They truly care about their guests and will do whatever they can to make one's stay enjoyable and comfortable.
The two downstairs rooms have been redone; everything in them is nice and new, done in an appropriately stated western theme that fits the locale. The upstairs rooms are older, and have not yet been redone.
Every room comes with a microwave and a small refrigerator. There is an excellent coffee shop, "Cowboy Coffee", right downstairs - in house. Additionally, there is a gas station, a cafe, and a laundromat right across the street, and a grocery store a block or two away. These nearby services help to make an extended stay very convenient.

We were traveling from Glacier to Missoula and I decided in advance I didn't want to go all the way to Missoula on our last day so was looking for a hotel 30 - 60 miles N to stay on our way there. The website for this hotel makes it sound like a paradise on earth. The reality is it is an old hotel on a hill in the middle of a tiny down on its luck town. The hotel was clean, basic, very reasonably priced, staff was friendly and remembered we needed a rollaway bed without us asking. It was definitely nothing special but probably the best you are going to get in St. Ignatius. One gripe is that there are no coffee makers in the room (although it did have a fridge and microwave) because they have a coffee shop downstairs (also promoted on their website). Well that's great except they weren't open in the morning. We left at 8 AM and I think they were just opening up. Excuse me but we don't all sleep in all morning, we are on vacation and have places to go!

Keep on driving! If you don't...
check out the filth in the bed rails. We encountered so many crawling bugs in the room the kids were afraid to go to bed. The entire complex is in dire need of some major attention.

The guy is very strange, the room barley adequate, but the price is low. I suggest you drive a bit more to Ninepipes.

The place is great. The rooms clean and nice. The staff and owners are extremely helpful, go way beyond to make sure that your stay is pleasant. Highly recommend it and I travel a great deal. The location, the St.Ignatius valley is fantastically beautiful. The owners are a great source of information on what to see in the area.

Keep in mind this is a motel built in the 70s. If you are looking for a Holiday Inn, you wont be finding that in this little Montana town. Clean, friendly owner, and walking distance to most of St. Ignatius. It also has an espresso stand in the lobby. Nice view of the Mission Mountains.

We looked online for a stopover in Mission Valley on our journey through Canda and the U.S. and found Sunset Motels website - booking by mail was quite easy (thanks Amy!) and we found two clean and comfortable rooms with fridge and microwave at a moderate price. We asked Mike if we could make our own breakfast in the coffee shop - and he kindly agreed. So we had not to go outside, enjoyed his coffee and our breakfast. Thanks, Mike!

We enjoyed are stay there last year for a week and have already reserved our room this year. As for the person who said the owner was weird. Is deffinately wrong, the owner has some disabilities due to an accident. He is a very nice man. I am planning on bringing my own coffee pot on my next trip, but the coffee there is very good in their shop. If you like nature and old home town appeal this is a great place to stay. We saw two deers and a fawn right out the back window of our room, where we watched them for quite awhile. St Ignatius sits between Beautiful Flathead lake and Missioula. No, this is not a Big star fancy motel. But it is clean and the people are great.

Great place to stay. Very comfortable and very safe. Love going to saint Ignace and staying at a campground. Cheaper than any hotel but it was still very very clean. Look forward to going there again soon.
