This particular Days Inn gets into Very Good status, based on a very helpful and friendly front desk staff, both at check-in, and different people at breakfast. THANK YOU!
The property is adjacent to a big truck stop, and might have been noisy but it wasn't at all. The room was small but big enough, with a good comfortable bed and bathroom with HOT WATER (see a prior hotel review in Newport OR).
While not a comment directed at the Days Inn, the adjacent truck stop restaurant is CLOSED, so plan on eating dinner before arrival or going back out on the road to find dinner.
The room was comfortable but the perfume deodorizer used to cover the cigarette smell didn't really make it better. I was able to enjoy the smell in my C-Pap for 2 more days when I returned home.

Checking in after 6PM we were given a key to a room. The room was not ready in any way. Sheets were crumpled on the bed, garbage over flowing, bathroom filthy, food still on counters. This happened with the next room and the next. This happened THREE times--THREE! It was after 7:30 when we could get into a room and that was a room that had to be made up for us as well. By the time we could get into our room, it was too late for us to even get a pizza. Also, the room we did get had no safety latch, no fire escape plan, and no information regarding check in/out as legally required. This breach in safety protocol made it impossible to get any rest that night. I was truly worried for my personal safety. The eye hole in the door was stuffed with toilet paper to keep people outside from looking in. (There was even a room on our floor that stayed wide open and unmade all night long.)
Breakfast was inadequate to say the least and I’m certain in violation of health codes.
Placed in 'smoking room' despite profile specifying 'non-smoking', verified by Front Desk Clerk. Was told this was the only one of two smoking rooms available, even with reserving the room much earlier in the day.
Guest checking in right after me with no reservation, was given a non-smoking room. (Grrr!...)
Would not claim hotel is unclean, just very old carpeting, facilities and paint make it seem 'unshiny', and suspect.
Will search for other options in the future, and drive further if necessary to avoid.
