Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This park is under new management. We see a consistent effort to make improvements. All the roads inside the park have been paved. There are even some new sites being developed that provide more room for large rv's.
Internet is significantly faster than it used to be. That's a rarity considering there is a greater demand for better internet. The park is relatively quiet in spite of its proximity to the freeway. The office has been totally redone and is much nicer.
Keep up the great job!

Nice, clean park. Not sure why it’s higher priced than most campgrounds. Had a pool, playground and a little mini golf. Staff was friendly, easy check in, but again, not sure that it was worth the $91 price per night

This is the old Jellystone Rv park as I remember. Really nice place well off Hwy 93. Lots of big rigs but I had a nice back in spot with shade. Great bath house facility and friendly staff at the office. It's close to Interstate exit for Hwy 93. Easy access to gas and food services.

This park has changed ownership and is now Granite Peak RV. They used to be $48 a night and we had stayed several times but now with the new owners they have raised the rates to 60 something. We booked ahead of time for a 55 foot space ( the biggest they had ) for our 44 foot toy hauler. We pulled into our space which was a mud hole because there hasn’t been any gravel put into this park for years and with recent rain it was a quagmire. The spots are not 55 feet. My toy hauler went from driveway to driveway so I was forced to park my Dooley on the grass next to my RV. 9 o’clock at night we were approached by the park manager telling me he was personally insulted that I parked on his grass and told me to go park my truck over in the mud. This is an old park with small Spaces and rude owners. I’d stay at Jim and Mary’s across the street if I have my choice

When I entered I asked, "Is the pool available?" Yes, until 9:30 PM, she said. I returned at 8:30 PM. "Sorry," she said, "we just put chemicals in it." I was already suspicious when I arrived because you can sense "indifference." They had an add,"We love seniors," or something like that. I didn't feel much love. They certainly didn't mention any discount. I don't like going to places where I sense it's all about collecting the cash. There was just no sense that they were interested in serving me. The only vibe I got was, "what's the payment, checkout time is 10:30." "How is the wifi?" I asked. "Not very good, too many people use it." I thought, "well how long does it take to realize you have to improve the wifi if too many people use it." They didn't wear masks, either, a clear sign they didn't care about my health, though I wore a mask making is clear I cared about theirs.

If you want to relax, not bother anyone and not get bothered by anyone, this isn’t the place. “No”signs posted every 5 feet about something and they call you if something isn’t perfect to them. We were called because our 2nd car wasn’t allowed to be parked by the trailer, even though we did not block anyone or impede into the road or etc. Additionally, various landscaping and others machinery was going on all day during a weekend.

Response from Granite Peak RV Resort, General Manager at Granite Peak RV Resort

Hi Jesco88, thank you for submitting this review! I actually like this one, because most people who travel appreciate accommodations where dogs aren't allowed to bark all night, cars aren't allowed to park all over the road, and rules are generally followed/enforced. I believe this review will be attractive to those kinds of people. Furthermore, to those who don't want to follow the rules, your review serves as a fair warning to them. We post rules on our website, you agreed to them when you made your reservation - were you not expecting us to enforce them? Also, yes... we do maintenance and landscaping here. Thank you for telling the users of Tripadvisor that we have a well maintained park! I bet you also would have complained if the grass was an inch too tall. Great review! We paid premium money for what was to be a level site. This park admits most of their site are not level even though that is probably one of the most import features of a park but when you have 52,000 pounds floating in the air some 8 inches off the ground, this is joke right. The staff even said they have spent a lot of money leveling their sites but the work must have been done somewhere else and their mt e staff must be sleeping as well as lazy. Remember this park is basically a level field yet somehow almost all their sites are off substantially. We moved after the first night to another park and are making sure to avoid Granite Peak on any future trips.

Response from Granite Peak RV Resort, General Manager at Granite Peak RV Resort
Responded 26 Jun 2022
Hi Brian, we are sorry to hear your experience did not live up to expectations. We understand some folks are more sensitive to sites being level than others which is why we try to be really up front on our website about our sites. All that being said, I do want to say that we attempted to rectify the situation and we were prepared to use any and all resources at our disposal to make a happy customer. You denied all assistance and resources that were offered. Also, we have never experienced a fully grown adult having a crying meltdown in our office before. All I can say is you must be living a really good life for a slightly unlevel site to generate that type of reaction. We wish you all the best in navigating the many challenges that must lie ahead of you in life! Welcome to Montana :)

We are asked all the time if we can make exceptions to our polices. The answer is no. If we make an exception for one guest and not another it is simply not fair.
Do not store ANY items underneath or adjacent to your RV. Examples of items that are allowed to be left outside your RV include: camp chair, one (1) ice chest, one (1) storage bin, one (1) BBQ and one (1) portable (propane) fire pit. Exact words off your paperwork. Your rules state one has to leave these particular sites for a day after being occupied a week. Never left . Do you want to stay next to this?
Picture is worth a thousand words. Why was this allowed?

Hi happycampernot2017, Thank you for leaving not one but two reviews on this matter using two separate accounts. These folks were temporarily re-arranging some items to take their rig to the dump station as they were staying in a non-septic spot. The picture you took (which by the way, is an invasion of their privacy and has been reported to TripAdvisor) does not reflect the condition of the site when they returned with the RV from the dump station and cleaned everything up. We have informed the guests in question of your invasion of privacy.

My wife and I recently travelled to Montana from British Columbia, on our first big roadtrip since owning an RV. We did not know what to expect in booking an RV spot in a resort not associated with one of the big organizations, but we were beyond pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
The resort is well-run, clean, well laid out, and the spaces are generous. The staff were very accomodating and pleasant. The shower and toilets were well maintained.
The setting is gorgeous, with rolling Montanan hills, and a nice dog walk area.
If you're a rockhound or geology nut, then the rocks at this resort will enchant you - it has some beautiful specimens around the sites, and many more on the perimeter.
We loved our stay at Granite Peak, and can see that the new owners are putting their hearts into making it even better.

About 5 miles out of town, but a GREAT park. It's near the interstate, but minimal noise. Good wifi, super nice bathrooms and laundry room. Roads are paved, sites are gravel with decent amount of grassy 'yard' between sites. Nice pool, playground & mini golf. Staff working the front desk were friendly, mask were mandatory in office.

We stayed on site #54. Decent site, level with good grass between neighbors and wifi was good from our coach.

The office does not use a computer to book their sites and keep account of availability. Makes it a challenge. They walk the park around 11am to determine what's available. So if you call for reservations and they are booked, keep calling every day. Something may open up. Great park. Highly recommend.
