We're a small, off-the-beaten-path collection of contemporary cabins and one exceptional five-star gourmet restaurant, tucked along the banks of the Yellowstone River on a ranch style property in the Paradise Valley of Montana. Our passions: Falling asleep to the sound of the river (we've also got a weak spot for high-count linens, fly-fishing, and microbrews—you'll see.), anything locally grown (if Chef Marcos prepares it, it's good) and showing off Yellowstone National Park (and the Valley's other endless outdoor opportunities). With our local knowledge, upscale amenities, and taste for both fine food and outdoor adventure, we're a natural base for your Yellowstone-area experience.

BEAUTIFUL location! We had a two bedroom cabin right on the Yellowstone River where we could fish and swim right off our back deck. Management was always helpful and responsive and even provided us with a free room upgrade. Location is perfect for fly fishing various spots along the Yellowstone and Livingston is a short drive for groceries and restaurants. Breakfast at the Lodge each morning was homemade and the Yellowstone Valley Grill was EXCELLENT! The food at the Grill was by far the best food of our entire 10-day trip.

My family recently stayed in one of the two bedroom cabins and I must say this was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Our cabin was beautiful and the view spectacular!! When we arrived we discovered the air conditioning was not working and it could not be fixed. It was supposed to be in the 90’s everyday so I thought it was going to be awful. The manager, Kevin, went out of his way to make sure our stay was still incredible. He hooked up fans in each of the rooms and it was cool enough at night to cool the entire house. The porch with the view of the river was definitely one of the highlights!! Thank you for a perfect week!!

Hands down, YVL is the best of all places to stay in the area. The big selling point is the Yellowstone River flows by (right to left) about 100 yards from your cabin. It's expensive, but very competitive for the region.
Another selling point is the dark, dark night sky. Bring a blueooth shutter release and a tripod for your phone camera for best effect.
Many cabins are duplexes so you can sometimes hear people with a heavy foot walking around. If it's exceptionally quiet you can make out sentences early in the morning. This only happened a couple times. Generally, your schedule will be different from your neighbor and you may never interact at all unless you choose to.
The back deck has a partition that extends about 90%, so you can expect visual privacy, but you can very easily hear each other. By no means should this discourage you from staying. It's entirely possible the could be an empty cabin next to you. The place is so inviting, you may end up making a new friend.
All the staff are as nice as can be, and are hard workers. The entire place is super-clean and I get the impression that everyone working here is very proud of this wonderful little gem.
They serve a very nice breakfast in the mornings with eggs, or sausage, or bacon, or cookies, or muffins. The proximity to the North Gate at Yellowstone is also a good selling point.
We absolutely loved this place and would love to come back to it some day. I almost don't want to tell anyone about it so I can have it all to myself. :)

Close to Yellowstone Park, I wasn't expecting much because candidly so much of nearby Park lodging is just so disappointing. This hotel is an exception. The young couple who run it are very conscientious, friendly and helpful. Their dog made our dogs feel right at home and showed them the way around the place (my one and only complaint would be for them to eradicate the nasty burr weeds on the river hillside!). The cabin was comfortable with a jaw dropping river mountain unobstructed view and private deck space with two chairs. We were very happy here and plan to return on our annual road trip this way!!

We stayed in one of the larger cabins which was quite comfortable, clean and quiet. We dined three times at the Yellowstone Valley Lodge Grill and each meal was excellent. We had excellent service from the front of the house. Our servers, Sage and Morgan, we’re friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The restaurant facilities do not equate with the excellent quality of the food. So, do not let that fool you! We had nearly every item on the menu over the course of our visit. No losers, only winners. We especially enjoyed the pork, salmon, rock fish and shoshito pepper dish but all our plates were clean. The ingredients are seasonal and sourced locally whenever possible. Excellent experience.

This place is simply paradise, with views that cannot be beat, and the sounds of the river and the wildlife serving as a live meditation video. It's in the perfect location, not only for the position right on the river, but also for how easy it was to get into Livingston, Chico, Bozeman, and the park. While I spent most of my stay on site working, the lodge made that incredibly easy. I had fast, stable wifi, and a clean, comfortable room with a kitchenette and even a gorgeous porch in the sun to work on. As a bonus, their complementary breakfast was different every day, and always delicious (highly recommend the muffins!), which always helped to get the day started right.
One of the best aspects of this lodge is it's staff. Every time you pass a member of the crew they are smiling and helpful. They all have great advice about places to visit in the area, and helped to guide me to some new activities and shopping nearby. There is clearly a great atmosphere here among the employees and they use that to make you feel right at home. Additionally, if you're a dog lover, you've found your spot. Maple, the lodge dog (and my favorite employee), can usually be seen helping the staff with their rounds and convincing them to play quick games of catch between tasks.
Do yourself a favor and book a stay here the next time you're in the area. You will remember this place forever!

We had a wonderful stay at YVL! We were in an Absaroka Deluxe cabin (#18) and it was perfect for us. 2 bedrooms with a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. Back patio with Adirondack chairs overlooking the Yellowstone River—the best!
Kevin and Danielle, the managers, are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast offerings were delicious and a great start for a day of fishing. Read reviews for the Yellowstone Valley Grill, the on-site restaurant, and book your dinner reservation WELL in advance—it’s fantastic!
My son and I enjoyed a float from a launch upriver to YVL. Rubber Ducky rentals in nearby Livingston provided all the tools for paddle boarding/rafting—highly recommend. Also enjoyed fly fishing from the bank on the grounds of the lodge. Great time all around!

We rented on of the deluxe cabins. Because it was during COVID the restaurant wasn’t open however we could order from the menu and pick it up to eat in our cabin. The food was excellent! The views were amazing all of the cabins face the Yellowstone River.
I didn’t care for the beds (too hard) but the cabin itself was comfortable and smelled and looked very clean.
We would stay here again! Staff was very nice! They also welcomed our small dogs.
Again... amazing food. Make sure to make dinner reservations when you book your room. It is a very popular place to eat in the area.

My husband and I stayed here one night while vacationing in Montana in September, 2022. Our room and beds were very comfortable and immaculately clean. The patio is very private with a beautiful view of the mountains and Yellowstone River. All the people who work here were very welcoming and pleasant. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was very good, but not really what we were looking for. We would have preferred more mid range ($30 -$40) entrees with vegetables included than the unusual configuration of food that we encountered. The included breakfast was good. We did enjoy sitting around the fire pit with a glass of wine before dinner. This hotel and location is worth the drive from Livingston.

2 couples spent 4 nights at the end of fall season in a 2 BR, 2 bath cabin with a nice communal area and deck right on the Yellowstone River. We were lucky enough to have mild weather so we could use the deck. We did not have housekeeping, but could request anything we needed via AI texting. Management was very responsive. The onsite breakfast was wonderful. Included were the usual continental offerings, plus a hot special each day. Also included were freshly baked muffins, pastries or scones daily. There is no lunch, but delicious dinners are available.
The hotel is about 40 minutes south of Yellowstone Park. It is also 10 minutes south of Livingston Montana which had lovely galleries and working artists in town. Highly Recommend

Hi OkcAnnie. You can currently make your dinner reservation for Yellowstone Valley Grill at RESY . com
The nearest spa we would recommend is the spa at Chico Hot Springs.
We can arrange services for a in room massage at our lodge if your interested.
Thank you!
Yellowstone Valley Lodge
Menu does not change. Plan on bringing your ownjuice, fruit etc. Just a little too basic. Enjoy your time in a beautiful area
If you have time, visit the new Sage Lidge. Very besutiful and view is gorgeous.
There are a number of stables throughout Paradise Valley. I think you can ride at Chico Hot Springs just a few miles from the lodge.
In late July you are looking at probably 2-3 hours to get to Old Faithful from Yellowstone Valley Lodge depending on traffic, road construction, wildlife, etc.
To get to Cody, SD from the lodge it will take a little over 9 hours. Please let us know if we can be on any more assistance! Thanks!
