Our family of five stayed at the Sleepy Senator from May 27th to May 30th over Memorial Day weekend. We really enjoyed the beautiful house and backyard. I used the sauna every morning and it was perfect! Our son enjoyed “the office” and watched Red Sox baseball games on his ipad on that comfy couch. The three queen beds were comfortable and everything was very clean! We enjoyed watching a movie in the living room one night. The dining room is really beautiful but we didn’t use that or the lovely kitchen because we ate out the entire stay. I enjoyed the character of the older home, it is beautiful. Our host, Bob, was very nice and friendly! The church next door had mass on Sunday at 8am but we didn’t hear any noise and slept well until 9am.
Highly recommend to families that want space to relax and enjoy. It’s nice to not be stuffed into a hotel room!

We are Helena residents and are having our home remodeled. The project is taking much longer than we anticipated and Bob, the SS 's proprietor has been very accommodating. The home is comfortable and situated In lovely, central Helena neighborhood. We love that the SS is dog friendly and has a nice fenced back yard.
If you are looking for a place to all home while visiting Helena, The Sleepy Senator is that place!

An older house, not particularly special, provides a small group with a perfectly adequate self-catering experience. The beds are comfortable, the water is hot, and the heating system works well. The house could use a good clean-out, as there is quite a lot of accumulated dishes, linens, and household goods. The one bathroom is small, but usable. The sauna was an unexpected bonus, which we happily used on a cold snowy day. If you are someone who needs speedy WiFi and cable TV, this is not for you.

This property didn't live up to its billing. A semi-detached in a semi-dodgy neighborhood, it seemed like the home of someone who had lived there since 1960 without upgrading anything but the fridge, then just walked out. The kitchen was semi-clean, the single bathroom was "quaint" (tiny), and the advertised wifi was non-functional. Comfy beds, though.
