I don't understand some of the recent negative reviews. We go to Yellowstone every year and have stayed in nearly all the properties in Gardiner and in the park and we found the Ridgeline to be on a par with almost every other property. Gardiner, Montana isn't a 5-star area! As for cost, it's well-known that Yellowstone is very expensive if you don't book far in advance. Don't expect a great deal if you wait until later to book -- if you can find anything available at all. We always book 6-12 months in advance.

We stayed 4 nights and had absolutely no problems. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Because of Covid there was no daily housekeeping (but we've found that to be the case all around the country in the last 2 years). Anything we needed was supplied quickly and with no problem at all.

The shower had nice pressure and plenty of hot water. Our room was spacious, clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. We didn't need the heat, but the A/C worked fine. We used the pool 3 times and it was well maintained and clean..

The only possible improvement I would ask for is to have breakfast included or at least an offer of "grab and go". Instead, there is a breakfast buffet offered for $14.95. We took advantage of that once, but all the other mornings we just had fruit etc. in our room. There are plenty of restaurants nearby.

The hotel and room was fine. The river view was beautiful. The only problems we had were as follows: The air conditioning was pretty loud. The room wasn't attended to at all. We didn't need new linen or beds made, but it would have been nice to have the coffee replenished and garbage taken out. Also, I realize that with this covid thing going on that there is no breakfast included, which is understandable. However, we asked for simple items such as paper plates, utensils, and salt and pepper so we could eat what we purchased at the grocery store. We were told they didn't have any of those items, which is hard to believe considering they would have had all those things just a few months ago. I don't think they threw it all away, but just didn't want to go get these items.

The hotel has three classes of rooms, basic, mountain view and river view. I had the Riverview and it was near perfect. The riverview rooms are in a newer freestanding two story addition. All rooms are direct access from outside, and parking is immediately adjacent to the building. The term riverview is dead on. Thirty feet from your window is the river and the undeveloped land and mountains beyond.

Room size was generous. plenty of room for two queen beds a chair and worktable and chair along with refrigerator and microwave.

Access to the pool and hot tub are currently limited, a pass is required from the front desk to limit the number of people there at any one time. The business center was closed, but the front desk printed my flight pass for me.

As part of covid response rooms are not refreshed during your stay. Was not an issue during my four day stay.

Stayed for 4 nights while visiting Yellowstone. Paid rates were high as expected during this busy summer season for Yellowstone so I opted to pay with points which was more reasonable. The location was a great jumping off point to get to Yellowstone’s north entrance quickly. I was pleasantly surprised with how big the rooms were and the beds were nice and comfy. The fridge and microwave in the room were great for heating up the grab and go breakfast, which was very well stocked. All the staff I interacted with were very nice and I especially wanted to commend the evening receptionist Pamela. Check in took a while as I could tell computer software wasn’t her forte, but she was patient and kind throughout the whole process. She was always warm and friendly any time I needed things like tissues or towels.

The only 2 issues I had were the shower tub and the bug situation, hence the 4 star rating instead of 5. The shower tub was very slippery and I would suggest to the management to add more anti slip strips to the tub or put a removable plastic grip mat for guest safety. Our tub had 4 anti slip strips but they seemed worn down, so I almost slipped a few times but caught myself. As for the bug situation, I do understand that it’s summer and we’re right next to nature so bugs are an inevitability. However, the rooms close to the river especially had so many active flying moths or other insects during the dusk hours that I usually had to sneak into my room like a ninja. Even so, I usually had to bug hunt in my room for at least 30 minutes every night, which gave me a bit of extra exercise after hiking all day in the park! Not a deal breaker for me, but it’s something to be aware of if you stay here in the summer and are creeped out by bugs. I would suggest to the management to hang bug zappers along the awnings outside the rooms and above the staircases. Sure they may look tacky, but they would go a long way in making the guest experience more comfortable.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would choose to stay here again, especially if those 2 issues are remedied.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback! We are so happy to see that apart from some minor issues you very much enjoyed your time with us! Pamela will be so thrilled and she strives to provide the best customer service to our guests. We have notified our maintenance crew regarding the bath tub and air conditioner. Unfortunately its the time of year for bugs to be out, the staff has tried and continues to do everything they can to remove the bugs, Our biggest suggestion is to make sure doors remain closed and careful with the lights. I understand how this is unwelcoming for these critters to continue to be a nuisance. Again thank you so much for all of your feedback! This definitely helps the staff and management see areas of improvement.

We stayed in a 2 queen room overlooking the river. It was gorgeous! I highly recommend asking for a river view. There were elk and deer everywhere on property and around town. The room was clean with an awesome microwave that won't burn your microwave popcorn as well as a decent sized mini fridge with a small freezer compartment. The beds and pillows were comfortable. They provided Bath and Body works shampoo/conditioner/body wash which was really nice. There is also a Keurig for coffee. They will provide you with more coffee pods upon request. The laundry was free, along with free detergent from the desk, which was very nice.
The negatives are that the hot tub seemed dirty with a film on top, and the indoor pool was too cold, Also, I feel like most hotels are just using COVID as an excuse to not have their free hot breakfasts. The CDC has already said you can't get it through food. So just have hand sanitizer at the breakfast area, and everyone should be ok if they practice proper hygiene. Instead, they provide bags with granola bars, juice, and an apple or orange, and I was able to get it at any time of day.
All in all, it was a great stay and would have gotten 5 stars if they had their hot breakfast.

The hotel has perfect location to see whitewater rafting along Yellowstone River. Make sure you request for the river beside the river but not mountain. The beds are comfortable and plushy. The basic amenities are sufficient. The TV remote control is wrapped with plastic casing to have extra hygiene measure during the pandemic. The only gimmick is the check in time is at 4 PM.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. It is about 2 minutes away from the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The beds were super comfortable and the room had every amenity that you could ask for. Bath and Body Work Aromatherapy shower gel/shampoo/cream rinse, plenty of towels, hand sanitizer wipes, lotions, etc.

The air conditioning was quiet, and the walls were well insulated so you do not hear your neighbors.

They also allow large dogs which made this hotel a absolute plus for me!

I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Yellowstone National Park.

FYI: Restaurants and Grocery Store and nearby....as well as many gift shops and a gas station. 1 hour north is a national forest where you can hike with pets.

I am currently staying and working here with my sister for summer 2021. We are working in the Yellowstone Mine restaurant. The accommodations for employees is great except for the laundry situation. My sister and I decided to do our Laundry at the laundromat in town since the Laundry room is small and probably usually used by guests,

We enjoyed our 2 nights at this hotel. The view from our room was awesome. we love that the room had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with supplies, a working a/c, tv with good reception, bath and bodyworks toiletries, and a ice machine available on the ground floor since it was hot. Grab and go breakfast selection consisted on fruits, cereal bowls, instant oatmeal, individually wrapped pastries, energy bars, and pop tarts (which I haven't eaten in over a decade). Drinks in the fridge were only energy ones and bottled water. They supplied paper bags to carry these things out. You can grab some of these the night before if you leave in the morning early to visit the park.

Parking at our section of the hotel was limited since there are 3 stories and only about 20 stalls. there is no elevators so if you have difficulties with stairs I would request a room on the street level.

Staff was very friendly except for one particular person who seemed stressed about check-ins, but the other staff said this person stresses easily. I would definitely stay again.

My wife and I spent four nights at the Ridgeline Hotel. We were (or not) greeted by a young person at the front desk. He didn't say much, and it was hard to get him to give us information. We wish he would have been more informative, and you'll see why in the following paragraphs:

After we finally got checked in with a room on the 2nd floor, we discovered that there was no elevator, so we had to haul our stuff by hand up the stairs.

There was very weak Wi-Fi service in our room (Room 203). We were moved to Room 201, where the Wi-Fi signal was a tad bit stronger but it still demonstrated slow Internet download speeds.

I went to the pool spa and my room keycard didn't work. I went to one of the maintenance staff, who told me that I had to get a special pool keycard from the front desk (It would have been nice to get this information from the young man at the front desk). When I finally sat in the Jacuzzi, the timer to the jets didn't work.

Also, the power in our room blew out. After maintenance showed staff where our individual room breaker were located, our breaker switch was turned on, our power was turned on (Staff didn't know individual breaker switches existed for each room).

However, the room was quiet (our room was facing towards the Yellowstone River), and the room was equipped with a microwave oven and a 1/2 refrigerator.

Management, please do a better job training your staff. I would not return to this hotel, nor would I recommend anyone to stay here.

I don't know for sure. I was there when it was winter and very cold (although the river was still flowing). I would call the hotel directly. I wouldn't be surprised if you also needed a valid fishing license/permit. It's a darling town - enjoy.
