We had two nights at this hotel during our recent trip to see Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We were traveling during COVID times but hotel rates started to increase in July so we paid higher rates for this Yellowstone Gateway location than we would have elsewhere I'm sure.

The rooms had been updated, possibly during the lockdown months when there was zero to very little travel going on. The hallways and doors leading to the rooms, however, were pretty dark, musty and depressing.

We had to get our little coffee maker and coffee from the front desk when we checked in. This was pretty much the norm due to COVID and was not a big deal. We were able to get our room changed to the first floor as there is no elevator and we had suitcase, cooler, and some bags to bring in. The first floor ended up having four steps you had to go down to get to them so it wasn't stair free.

We only spent time in the room to sleep, pack food for our full days in the park and to clean up. It worked just fine for us.

If we return to the area, I would probably look for a different hotel but this one met our needs for this trip.

Pros:
Reasonably clean
Great selection of Tazo teas and hot drinks in the lobby
Friendly staff
Price was much better than other hotels in town

Cons:
No elevator, so if mobility is an issue make sure to request a room on the first floor
Very noisy/ noise transfer between rooms. Request a room on the top floor.

Overall, probably pretty average for a Super8. The rooms aren’t carpeted, which likely contributes to the noise issue. Price still seems high for the room, but everything in town is higher than you’d expect due to supply and demand. I would stay again, but would ask for a top floor room and possibly bring ear plugs.

This place wasn't objectively terrible, but if your room is in the back of the building you are in a beautiful area with no view at all, which feels pretty claustrophobic. The floor was pretty dirty, but the beds and shower were okay. There were hooks to hang your clothes which I like. Could have used a couple more hooks in the bathroom though. More hooks is the cheapest way to improve the overall comfort and utility of a motel room. There were USB ports on the table by the bed, but turned out they didn't work. My bad for not checking. My other complaint was no overstay housekeeping service. The pandemic is over! I want my bed made and my trash emptied. Doesn't seem like too much to ask in these days of high prices. When I needed more towels there was no one there to ask, fortunately I found some.

My son and I stayed here three nights for Yellowstone. We chose the hotel because of it's location and to get a daily turn down service. Most the area Airbnb's were located over an hour from the North entrance. We had a late arrival the first night and had to park in a far east lot, walk through the main building and then up three flights with our luggage to the third floor. We also learned that we had to request ALL room items from towels, cups, soaps etc because of the pandemic. They also advised there would also not be daily turn down service due to the pandemic and that we would have to get fresh items daily ourselves from the front desk. For paying just south of $200 a night I expected better.

Pros: Only 5 minutes from the North Yellowstone entrance. Soft beds. Bagged grab bag breakfast of yogurt, muffin, granola juice. Quiet on the third floor away from the stairs. Staff was courteous.

Cons: Intermittent power outages thru the night. The room was turned down after speaking with management but was poorly cleaned. A random trash bag stayed in the hallway for 24hrs. Horrible parking. $2 a day fee for a safe even if you don't use it (refunded only upon request at check out). Body wash in shower was not filled even after requested. Musty smelling hallway. Overfilled trash containers outside. Weak wifi.

Definitely not worth the price they charge. I would not return.

Stayed there six nights. Not once was my room cleaned. Not once. Trash cans overflowing. Hard floors so the noise travels like crazy. Thin walls, you can hear conversations from the next room at normal voice levels. One night an 18 wheeler was parked outside my window all night and the diesel engine kept coming on and idling through the night. I dealt with barking dogs in one room and a screaming baby in another. The “breakfast” is a joke. Coffee and a cheap, cold pre-packaged donut not worth eating. Oh and the orange juice machine was broken all week with no offer of any substitute. All of the chairs are in the table in the dining room so even if there was breakfast, they want you to take it and leave.

There is no closet to put your clothing. If you want to hang anything all they offer is a couple of hooks on the wall.

The best part? The part where they made me feel like a valued customer? Checkout is at 10:00, so I load up my luggage in my car, go back to my room to get my last bag and…the key doesn’t work. It was 10:03!!! They deactivated my key card before I had checked out! I had to go back to the office and have them reactivate my card so I could grab my last bag. Unbelievable! Strongly suggest staying at ANY other hotel that actually values its guests and doesn’t lock you out of your room before you check out. Will never be back to this property but will definitely be back to Gardiner, MT.

Premium price paid, probably due to location (we paid more than double the price of a Ramada in Helena which included cooked breakfast & a much bigger room). Advertised as providing continental breakfast, which was only juice, & mini blueberry muffins or ring donuts, along with the 24/7 coffee. There was nowhere outside to eat as most were closed down. We booked expecting breakfast as I am a type 1 diabetic & need regular carbs. Bring your own breakfast or book one of the other hotels if visiting Gardiner MT.

Our rate was $229 per night. I know rooms are in high demand, but for that price I would expect a clean room. The bathtub had cracks and chips, which had been infiltrated by dirt, or mold, or some other black substance. The bathroom looked like it was straight out of the 1980's. Breakfast was a paper bag with a granola bar, muffin, apple, and yogurt. It seems like the hotel is taking advantage of the scarcity of rooms in Gardiner and doing the bare minimum to continue to collect a high rate.

Hello Rachael, and thank you for sharing your concerns with us. Our bathrooms were remodeled two winters ago, so I will have the tubs checked by maintenance to ensure that any defects are corrected immediately. While it is true that rooms can be a bit expensive this close to Yellowstone Park, we strive to offer the best service possible to ensure our guests have a memorable vacation. Super 8 as a brand is actually discontinuing breakfast service, but we have opted to continue offering a Grab and Go option this summer so our guests have something to start their day in the park. We hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

We stayed at the Super 8 in Gardiner Montana on May 16 & 17, 2022 during our recent visit to Yellowstone National Park.

It's very well located close to the entrance of the park. A no frills motel which charges very high room rates for obvious reasons but fails to deliver guest service.

We couldn't sleep both nights because the floorboards on the floor above squeaked constantly. The Ice machine did not work both days. When I advised the Front Desk Desk Clerk Allisson at checkout she smiled knowingly but did not say or do anything to make up for the inconvenience. The motel also billed us $2/ night for the safe in the room which I advised her we were not informed about at check in and also that we neither needed the safe nor did not use the safe. We requested her to kindly take the safe charge off. The FDC informed us that she did not know how to issue credits and that the manager will issue the credit and email me a copy of the updated folio. When we did not receive the updated folio by the next day I called the Super8 motel again and spoke to Allisson, she assured me that the credit has been issued and that she will email me the updated folio. .......I have yet to receive the updated folio!!

Upon checking my Credit Card account online I noticed a credit of $2.00 issued instead of $4.00 that was billed for safe for two nights (@ $2/night).

Very disappointing experience indeed. Next time we will stay at a different hotel!!

We met Alamn on our first say and he showed us extra courtesy by bringing us a coipy of our bill when we asked him. We met Chris who was very personable and made sure we had what we needed for breakfast and maintained COVID 19 protocols and safety measures. He was trustworthy and it made us feel he cared about his patrons and his place of buisiness. We met Trevor who went beyond his job to explain to us some sights we might want to see as well as how the route we were going to take had changed because of the amount of snowfall. He saved us a few hrs of driving and gas because we would have had to turn around and track back.

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past seven years and was really happy to see some fresh new improvements in the rooms (new beds, flooring) that made our experience excellent! The hotel has a great location in town... across the street from a great market as well as hamburger joint. The Super 8 is one of the most economical hotels in Gardiner. The staff were very friendly and taking plenty of precautions to protect guests from COVID-19. While the WiFi was not fast for downloading large files, it worked very well for working remote with Zoom meetings.

This hotel is definitely pet friendly. Pet area is not huge, but well kept. I believe our pet fee was $20.00 for our frenchie and Boston terrier. Pretty reasonable.
