The town of Gardiner is located right outside the North entrance to Yellowstone National Park, and the Gateway is conveniently located in the middle of town, within walking distance to all restaurants, and the only in-town supermarket.

Whether you’re on a romantic couple’s trip, family fun expedition, or a group retreat, the Gateway Inn has proper accommodations for you. You can stay overnight, or spend the whole summer – this place has everything for your comfort!

We had an opportunity to experience three different options:

1. One bedroom suite. Prefect for a couple and family with 1-2 kids, this suite has one bedroom with a king size bed and a sofa for two in the living room.

2. Two bedroom suite with plenty of space for two families.

3. River house. There are two newly-renovated houses next to each other sharing an outdoor patio overlooking the Yellowstone River and a riverside viewing deck. The view is absolutely spectacular!

All suites and the house are generously decorated and have fully equipped kitchens.

Organic toiletries are provided.

All suites gave private entrances with little cute benches and a small table for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine outside (priceless during a pandemic).

Mountain views, a well maintained landscape and deer wandering right at your doorsteps fill the place with unforgettable charm!

There is a washer and dryer in the house, and it has everything to celebrate a special occasion or reunion.

There is no need for plastic water bottles here – the tap water is clean and delicious.

We hope to return again and bring more friends with us in the near future.

We have just finished a three night stay here at the Yellowstone Gateway Inn. We booked somewhat last minute when a trip to Glacier was cancelled. Our tour guide, MacNeil of Yellowstone Insights, recommended staying here. His suggestion was GREAT! When we arrived we were told we were upgraded from the Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite to their home just across the street.

WOW! The two bedroom house had two bathrooms, a full kitchen where everything was brand new, a dining room, living room with two full couches and a brand spanking new outdoor grill. We were the first ones to use it! The home was spotless and extremely quiet.

Additionally, the home was equipped with much more than I would have expected. Complete coffee service (10-cup pot with coffee, filters, sugar and creamer); washer and dryer with laundry detergent; aluminum foil and Saran wrap; shampoo, conditioner & soap. We were amazed!

Beds were very comfortable; there were tons of outlets to charge electronics; fine wi-fi service (you shouldn't be spending much time on line in this beautiful place anyway!!!); and three big screen TVs (one in the living room and one in each bedroom).

We were simply surprised with this wonderful upgrade and we would have been happy with our original room. We'd definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the YGI in February. When we arrived, the woman manning the office very nicely walked us over to our apartment and showed us the features. The features were many! We had a king size bed which was very comfortable. There were 2 large flat screen TV's--one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. They had DirecTv which was a pleasant surprise. The Wifi worked well. It was easy to maintain a comfortable temperature despite the frigid temps outside.

The apartment was well equipped, with a fully functional kitchen (not used in our case.) The bathroom was well laid out and even included a make-up mirror, which most people in YNP will not use, but was a nice touch! Most importantly, the whole apartment was spotless.

We liked it so much we tried to reserve for our departure night, but it wasn't available. In my many trips to YNP, i've stayed at probably 6 or 7 properties. This is definitely where i will stay when i return to Gardiner.

We like to stay in vacation houses with our group of 5 so we can spread out and it's usually cheaper than 2 rooms. This house had plenty of space, it just wasn't all that appealing. The house we stayed in required a walk to the end of the street to see the river, there is no view. Front of the house is just parking spot, no yard, weeds around the place. Interior decor is odd, with a mixture of modern, western/cabin, and Asian!! The sheets and towels were clean, but I'm not sure the comforters are being washed after every stay. The floors throughout were quite dirty/sticky, some hair, debris on kitchen floors. Needs some dusting, there were cob webs and dust most everywhere. Cabinet fronts need wiped down, dining room chair cushions and backs need cleaned--a few need fixed. Backyard area is kind of shabby with junk and weeds and not much yard. The beds were pretty good and it was nice having 2 bathrooms. We weren't in the house much so it worked, but we've stayed in other vacation houses in the Yellowstone area that are nicer for the same price or cheaper. Getting to the main location to check in was kind of strange too. Not sure I'd choose this place again, but also not horrible!

We loved everything about this hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We booked a two bedroom unit for three nights. It had a full kitchen, nice living room and comfortable bedding.
The staff was very friendly. They allow you to use their laundry facilities after 5 pm for a small fee. It was much appreciated as we were on a 11 day trip.
The hotel is within walking distance to the grocery store, shops, and restaurants. We switched hotels five different times on our vacation. This was our absolute favorite. I would stay here again!

Our family of 5 recently stayed in one of the riverfront houses and it was the perfect place for us to explore the northern part of Yellowstone. The house was spacious and well-appointed, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large sunroom, a huge living area, and a full kitchen. We enjoyed being able to cook meals and eat in, especially after the mediocre food we ate inside the park. The house also had several televisions, wifi, a washer and dryer, and other amenities such as organic soap and shampoo, coffee, paper goods, and laundry detergent. It was walking distance to the Gardiner Market and several restaurants, and was less than a 5 minute drive to the North Entrance of Yellowstone. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. If you are a larger group or simply need a place to spread out, definitely book a stay here!

From the initial images given on the website, and the first impression of the outdoors of the buildings, I was skeptical. But the king deluxe kitchen suite was awesome. Everything was updated and modern and better than most hotels we've stayed in! Staff was friendly and when I mentioned we would have a pet, they made sure to put us in a location that was easy accessible to a small grass area. Would highly recommend and can't wait to stay here again!

We enjoyed our 4 night stay. We originally booked for two nights but then a snow storm came so luckily they had availability for us to extend our stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, full size fridge, stove and dishwasher. We had two bedrooms and a bath with two pullout couches in the living room for 7 of us. I just wish there was a second bathroom but we knew that when we reserved. Beds are very comfortable, even the pullouts were not bad. The place was super clean. It is a great location right out of the park and in walking distance to the market. The market prices are not bad especially compared to some of the restaurants on the area which are pretty pricey. So definitely worth having a kitchen to make our own food. There is coin laundry on site available to use between 5-8. The WiFi was good too. The biggest highlight was all the animals we saw right outside our door. We saw rabbit, elk, deer. The deer are also very friendly and will come up right to you. We would definitely stay again.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay here. There was only one woman working, but she was friendly and kind and made us feel at ease while showing us to our room. Our room was well decorated and struck a great balance between feeling homey and not feeling “lived in”. Decor was rustic and it felt like staying in a cabin, but the sheets and bathroom felt as clean and fresh as any franchise hotel. Water pressure was great, and the room was fitted with two smart TVs so we could unwind with some shows after a long day at the park. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, and we will definitely be staying here again when we’re next in the area!

Gardiner is a cute little town with deer and elk roaming the streets in broad daylight. I did not expect to find a gem of a hotel here. Stayed in a 1 BR with queen bed in the LR and we loved it! Unit was very clean with gorgeous furniture and light fixtures and a full kitchen. It's clear that the property goes above and beyond to make their guests feel at home because they provide the little extras like beach towels (in case you went rafting in the river?) and a "charging hub" with USB ports and extra outlets. Few dining options in this town, so the kitchen comes in handy for breakfast or when you're sick of eating pizza and burgers. There's a small grocery store nearby. BTW Corral's across the street serves delicious elk or bison burgers and the best huckleberry ice cream! Gardiner is a great place to stay for exploring the Northern parts of YSNP and I highly recommend Yellowstone Gateway Inn!

You can get a look by using the "Street View" function of Google Maps. I will say that this doesn't do justice to the beauty of the mountains in the background. The area is very pretty.

Hola! This inn is well situated to visit all areas of the park and return at night. However you should be aware that nearly all of the park roads are closed to automobile traffic until mid to late April. And many of the snowmobile accessible roads will be closed by late March. Recommend you check the nps dot gov forward slash yell forward slash planyourvisit forward slash parkroads is a website that gives the opening dates for YNP roads.
