We stayed here just after they reopened, they were at 20% occupancy and it was great having the place to ourselves.

Everyone was very nice and warm. We felt good letting our kids run free.

We stayed in the river side cabins and while the Sound of the water is great the roar if the highway was greater.

The walls inside the cabin are paper thin, don’t expect any privacy from the interior rooms.

I also feel as though for the price management could up the quality of the amenities, both in the kitchen and the washroom.

We enjoyed staying at the 320 Guest Ranch over Christmas 2020. Our river cabin was perfectly cozy and comfortable. We took a sleigh ride on Christmas Eve which was a special and unforgettable experience. The breakfasts were hearty and yummy. We had a really delicious dinner at McGill’s and particularly loved the pig wings, Game and mushroom appetizer and the gumbo. The restaurant had spaced out tables and we felt very comfortable eating there during this pandemic. We wholeheartedly recommend 320 Guest Ranch!!

My family stayed at the 320 Guest ranch for a week. We enjoyed it. The location was great. I 45 minute drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone, close to Big Sky but plenty secluded with beautiful surroundings.

We chose a cabin by the river. It was clean and large enough for the four of us. I liked having a kitchen. Before booking, guests should know the river cabins are close to a fairly busy road but the noise from traffic was not a problem at night. We were not there much in the day.

We went on a half day horseback riding adventure at the ranch. Our guide was great and my teenagers really enjoyed it.

The free breakfast is good. We also dined in the restaurant one evening. All of the food was delicious. My son really enjoyed the bison burger and the trout was splendid as well. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We also attended the ‘pig roast’ and we were a little disappointed with that. The BBQ was fine but the meal was overpriced for what you get. Book the chuck wagon early if you wish to do that. We could not get a spot when we arrived. The restaurant also requires reservations.

Social distancing and the use of masks were employed throughout the ranch and I did not feel overly concerned about health risks due to coronavirus. It was a nice reprieve. That is not the case in Yellowstone National Park where there are many inconsiderate tourists.

There is no AC in the cabins. It was only a concern for a few afternoon hours each day. Close the curtains if it’s predicted to be hot and you will be out. That keeps the cabin cooler during hotter periods.

My wife and I stayed in the McGill cabin. Very authentic and all around good getaway. My major complaint is their pet policy. I booked through another site and they say pet friendly. Well when you arrive they are only friendly to charging you extra, ridiculous fees. They charged me $25 per night, per pet. This charge added up to another $250 on my trip that was totally unexpected. For this extra $250 I received nothing. No pet beds, no pet treats, no clean-up stations, not a single amenity for the $250. I could see a $50 cleaning fee for your entire stay but $25 per night, per pet, is just taking advantage of pet owners. Now that I know this policy I will not stay here again.

We spent a couple of nights at the riverfront cabin.

Pros:
1. The setting is stunning. Surrounded by mountains with horses grazing and a river flowing right in front of the cabin, this ranch scores high points for its location.
2. The cabin has two bedrooms and a living room. Basic but clean and adequate. The riverfront cabins seem to have more space between cabins when compared to single-room cabins on the other side of the ranch.

Cons:
1. Riverfront cabins face the road. You will hear vehicle noise all day.
2. Food was a big letdown: Breakfast was as basic as it gets, not even a loaf of bread, just bagels, scrambled eggs, and bacon. None of them tasted fresh.
Dinner was even worse. Instead of serving authentic ranch food, they have a so-called 'fine dining' serving expensive and tiny portions. When we ordered take-out, we were given cardboard boxes with sauces poured directly into the box instead of packaging them separately. We were shocked that this restaurant lacks basic common sense. The taste was below average as well—total waste of money.

In a nutshell, this ranch is overpriced with average amenities and service. I am giving it 3 stars strictly for the location and the beautiful horses.

We were very disappointed in the 320 Ranch. We were willing to pay quite a bit more money for a “Riverfront” cabin; but when we arrived, we discovered that the cabin wasn’t even close to the river. We could barely see or hear the river. So, we asked to be moved to a less expensive cabin, as we were only staying one night. The cabin they put us in was extremely old, dark, and dreary. We put all of our stuff up off the floor in case of mice or bugs. The curtains must have been 40 years old. But the worst thing about the cabin was the hard and very uncomfortable mattresses. It felt like we were sleeping on a floor. Needless to say, we got very little sleep and were glad to leave the next morning.

320 Guest ranch is beautiful and our experience with the front desk staff was excellent. They definitely have a shortage of staff at the moment. McGills has great food but they could not seat us, so we needed to get take out. Multiple people in our party did not receive what they had ordered, and our $17 poutine fries came with only 10 fries. When we asked hosting staff about talking to the kitchen the staff member told us that we needed to go back and speak with them directly, which is not appropriate. Our cabin was advertised as having a pull out couch which we were counting on for our group, but the couch was not pull out and it took quite a while to get a replacement bed. Our other cabin had blood on one of the bed sheets and no replacement sheets.

For the prices we paid, I will not plan on returning to 320 guest ranch. Hopefully they can make better management decisions to make sure the guests they serve can have access to the amenities paid for. Wish I would have asked for a partial refund for the bed issue!

Front desk people were awesome. The area was beautiful, but the cabin was not equipped to house 5 of us. Two bedrooms one king and 2 full beds and only one closet and one bathroom for all 5 of us. The master bedroom's closet had the hot water heater in it so you couldn't hang your clothes in there. They only had 2 cups for coffee, 3 pods for coffee and 2 towels. If you needed anything from the front desk you had to drive there to get it. The breakfast that came with the stay was average. When asked if they were serving any bacon or sausage with the eggs? The response was "oh they didn't make any today"
It was not cheap to stay here so they should have put a little more TLC in the up keep of the cabins. Someone should be following the cleaning crew around to make sure its done properly. for example the mirrors had all streaks running through it.

My wife and I were puzzled by some of the less positive reviews of 320 Ranch after a great stay. Our deluxe queen cabin was spacious and well configured, with lots of storage cubby areas. The ranch is beautiful with friendly staff, and we enjoyed horseback riding and a mountain medicine session. We also thought the pig roast and chuckwagon events were excellent; there isn’t much that can be done with open flame restrictions during high risk fire season, and our food was outstanding. We had dinner the last of our 3 nights in McGill’s and loved the food there as well even if we did laugh a little at the intensely loud music in the background. We viewed the cabin and food/activities as quite reasonably priced compared to other locations in Montana this summer. We will absolutely return to 320 given the welcoming experience and great offerings and location.

After a visit to Grand Teton and Yellowstone we extended our vacation to have a Montana ranch experience. I’m so glad we chose 320 Guest Ranch!
This ranch offers flexibility that is really hard to find. We booked three nights instead of the usual 7 days required because it’s what worked with our schedules. The value for the accommodation is very good.
Pros: Beautiful property, very gracious service (a special shout out to Cyndi at guest services, Will with fly fishing instruction and the amazing wranglers David and Rio), the wagon dinner is a must do, walking distance to fly fishing, great riding for adults and kids and last but certainly not least, fantastic food!
Cons: The cabin is ok but doesn’t feel on par with the rest of the property. That said, it’s important to remember that the price for the stay is VERY good compared to neighboring ranches. So we shouldn’t compare these rooms to those in ranches where you pay twice the price.

On the 4 hour trail ride, is there a break? How do you remount the horse if you need a mounting block?
Answer from 320GuestRanch
Big Sky, Montana
There isn't a break on the ride typically. They stop at some point for photos. If you do need to dismount your ride; the wrangler will help you get back on - there is usually something natural we can use as a mounting block (a side hill, a log, something!) but we don't carry something along with us.
Answer from 320GuestRanch
Big Sky, Montana
There are a few shuttle companies in town - You can get their information on our website on the getting here page. Karst Stage, Big Sky Shuttle, and Big Sky Taxi. The ranch is pretty remote so we do recommend renting a car, but if not those companies will get you where you need to go. See you soon!
