Having just read the somewhat poor review from a June visitor, I feel he must be living an alternate universe than me. My family of five (three boys in their 20s) stayed four nights at Hubbard's Yellowstone Lodge in July and it was FABULOUS. We had no prior experience in or around the Yellowstone area - and we had a ball. We fished right there at the Lodge's lake, we did trap shooting and rode horses on the ranch (we are neophyte horseback riding people but this was the best riding experience we have ever had), we did white water river rafting nearby the ranch and we did some awesome hikes in the National Forest adjacent the ranch. The food was great for every meal and Matt, the Lodge's Executive chef, intermingled with the guests every day. (One night it was walleye, another night beef wellington, then BBQ ribs - all fabulous!) The ranch is family owned and operated and it feels that way. I found the family totally engaged - Nancy was very friendly and helpful in setting up our lodge and activity reservations (including being very accommodating when we had to shift plans a month before the trip!). We were introduced to Jim Hubbard, the founder and patriarch, as soon as we arrived and we interfaced with him, along with his son, daughters and grandchildren all week. The whole staff was fantastic. They encouraged the visitors to get to know each other, which added to the family atmosphere. The facility is in great condition, a wonderful feat given it is so isolated. It's not 5 stars NYC Ritz Carlton (yes there is no A/C in the rooms) but it was very nice, extremely clean and very appropriate for a western lodge in the middle of National Park landscapes. The lodge is at about 6,000 to 7,000 feet of elevation so even when we had 90 degree weather on our river rafting trip, when we got back to the Lodge that evening the temperature was perfect. The views were spectacular and the night sky incredible (especially for a So Cal family). There was excellent wifi and phone service, though the beautiful and relaxing setting made you want to throw your iPhone into the lake. I highly recommend Hubbard's Yellowstone Lodge.

Hubbard’s Yellowstone Lodge does not disappoint. This was our second trip here and I loved it just as much this time as I did our first time. My son is an avid fisherman and the guides do not disappoint. The business is family owned and operated, and the care and dedication provided to their guests is amazing. Nancy runs the lodge and manages the tough job of coordinating guides and activities for the guests. We were a last minute booking and she was able to accommodate every request we had. She even was able to pair my son up for a day of fishing with a guide who was perfectly suited to my son. They were comparable in age and immediately hit it off. My son caught a TON of fish on Tom Miner Creek, which is located on the property. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day in Yellowstone with another guide, Matt. He too, was awesome.

The accommodations are beautiful and tastefully decorated with some of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in.

Sarah, Nancy’s sister runs the kitchen and every meal was 5 star. We were there celebrating my birthday and the chefs prepared a special desert for me which was much appreciated.

Stop thinking about it and just book it! You won’t be disappointed.

I had the privilege of traveling to Hubbard's Lodge this past June with my wife and three other couples. We all have personal friends that have stayed at the Lodge in the past so it came highly recommended. It did not disappoint!

Having never traveled to Montana, my expectations were reasonable. Upon landing at the airport, being picked up by a staff member, and driving up the ridge to the Lodge, my expectations were immediately exceeded and I felt as if I were in a little slice of Heaven. The scenery and views were nothing short of spectacular.

Our group did all the activities which the Lodge offered; a guided trip to Yellowstone, horse back riding, skeet shooting, and fly fishing.

We inquired about the accommodations in advance to understand how things worked. A few tricks: Have the Lodge order your snacks and alcohol in advance. They will pick them up for you and will be waiting in your room. I forgot cigars and wouldn't you know it, they showed up the next day after politely asking a staff member if they could make a special trip into town.

The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the bears were nonexistent. Apparently, they like to come later in the year when they've run out of food at Yellowstone. This is a tip from the staff.

My experience was so wonderful that I volunteered to come back in August to work a week long corporate event for free. No joke. The owner needed a replacement and I immediately asked how I could get back and be a part of the team. Unfortunately for me, they found a permanent solution right away. It's that special of a place.

If you're not into all the outdoor activities, the views of either the canyon or the fresh water lake will be more than enough to find yourself getting lost in this magical place.

Hubbard's Lodge is worth the investment and a great place to relax. Montana is a beautiful state to see and I am looking forward to future trips to Hubbard's Lodge.

Hubbard’s Yellowstone Ranch is truly a piece of heaven! We had the opportunity to stay at the ranch for three nights and that wasn’t enough. The scenery is beyond beautiful! The lodge overlooks the Yellowstone River and there is a small lake behind the lodge. Nancy and her staff go over and beyond to make sure everyone’s experience is enjoyable and memorable. They all felt like family to us. There is horseback riding, fly fishing and day trips to Yellowstone. We chose to ride horses. The wranglers were wonderful and showed us more beautiful scenery! The food is delicious at the ranch. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared for guests daily. Snacks and homemade cookies are throughout. Our room in another building was great! I highly recommend Hubbard’s. We can’t wait to go back.

My adult son and I went there for a week to celebrate milestone birthdays. We had given a lot of thought to selecting somewhere that would provide a special experience we would both enjoy and we made an excellent choice! The location is amazing, the activities are fun, the staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are comfortable, and Nancy goes out of her way to make sure you get the trip you want. We went riding several time, fishing with a guide who was wonderful about this being our first fishing experience- we both caught fish!- and toured Yellowstone with their guide. I left feeling like I have family in Montana.

The amazing Hubbard Ranch is family owned.. Jim is 85 and the Patriarch, he's always around at happy hour, and great stories. Nancy, Jim’s Daughter runs the daily biz. She gave me great suggestions since drove as to where to stay on our way there. She was also so flexible when we had to change dates and great when we had to leave a day early due to a personal issue. And her son Blaze was picking up the reigns when she was out and also very helpful. Sara, Jim’s other Daughter, I thought went to culinary school. The food was all so delicious and all home made. I ate waffles just for her syrup.
The staff was great and so many young people with such positive, friendly attitudes. Ben, the bartender took my kids(15 &18) skeet shooting and they had a great time. Everyone is so polite and always has a smile, and between the ages of 17-27. I hope my kids work there 1 summer!

And the horse riding, why we were there. Wray, our Wrangler was great! I loved my horse and Wray was great at teaching us how to herd cattle. We did 2 rides a day and they were all different, never boring, scenic and fun! I wanted to do the all day ride but, my kids were too sore..teenagers.
They have an amazing Orvis guided fly fishing program also, but we were there to ride!
Our rooms were great and the most comfortable beds! And the view of the lake was spectacular. They have a newer building also.
I can’t say enough..cozy, intimate, clean, beautiful, meets all expectations and more! We will be back Hubbards!

This was our second time to stay at Hubbard’s. The owners and staff going over and beyond to make everyone feel at home!
They can arrange everything from flying fishing, horseback riding and white water rafting to name a few. The views overlooking the Yellowstone River are amazing! The rooms are comfortable and pretty. The meals offered 3 times a day were delicious.
It’s fun to meet new people and gather on the deck of main lodge during the day and especially before dinner and talk about the days’s activities. We can’t wait to go back! It truly was a highlight of our trip to Montana.

This was my second fishing trip out of the Lodge. In September 2018 I made my first trip and was blown away by the experience. No less so this year. Accommodations are great, as is the food and the staff. Fished the lake at the lodge, the Yellowstone River and then two rivers in Yellowstone Park over four days. The guide (James) was great - eager, knowledgeable and patient. I certainly recommend Hubbard's without hesitation.
