Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there today to check the Motel out as we have family visiting. The front desk clerk accused us of calling her a derogatory name, and we were yelled at and told if we went back we would be trespassing. What a joke! Beware! My first and only experience here was absolutely horrible. Stay away!

This is an amazing motel we will never forget. From the very welcome check in from owner Lisa, and the IT help from Brian and the well appointed and charming lobby to our room with super comfy beds and fantastic gift shop - we loved every second we were there. And the "knock your socks off" experience was their amazing lower level pool, hot tub and steam room. When you enter - you will be immediately transported to Bali or Thailand and the peaceful and crazy relaxing vibe cannot be beat! If you need an over the top fabulous motel in Bozeman or the Big Sky area - look no further than here.

It was wonderful staying at a vintage family owned motel. The room was extremely clean, the amenities were 1st class. The spa pool, and hot tub area was beautifully decorated and such a pleasure to enjoy after a long day of traveling. The owner and staff were so friendly and gave us a full history of the hotel from when her father bought it in 1976. The lobby is filled with beautiful antique furniture and decorations that are so inviting. We highly recommend anyone traveling to Bozeman or West Yellowstone stay at Lewis and Clark motel..just wonderful!

Don't let the word "motel" fool you, this place is quaint, clean and comfortable. It is the only place we stay when we go to Bozeman, several times a year. The pool area reminds me of a European castle. The hidden pool is calming and much bigger than expected. The staff is friendly and attentive. Family owned since 1976. It feels great to support a local and family owned business in the world of corporate hotels. All day coffee, tea, hot chocolate and apple cider and fruit. Simple but healthy breakfast, cereal, yogurt, etc. Gift shop with lots of treats to keep adults (beer/wine) and kids (candy/ice cream) happy.

Loved our stay here! The room wasn't really anything special, but got the job done. HOWEVER, the pool & spa area downstairs was unique and very well done....the attention to detail was a delight to experience. Lots of lovely little surprises everywhere we looked, like the gorgeous hanging baskets and balcony planters full of flowers, and the refreshing flavored water in the lobby, and the complimentary coffee area - I could go on and on. Lisa, the owner/manager, and her kind and caring staff are the "cherry on top," going above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed and special. I really hope that someday I will find myself in need of lodging in Bozeman again, and can get to experience the L & C hospitality once more!

Throughly enjoyed my time at Lewis and Clark. From the moment I arrived Lisa the owner ensured I was comfortable. Charming local spot worth a stay. And the pool, hot tub and steam room a bonus. Very clean and inviting. Check this classic out! You will be glad you did. No corporate boringness here.

First & foremost, the greeting upon my arrival was warm and very accommodating! This Motel has been owned by the Family for years and this, there is an interesting history as well. The hospitality was above & beyond! My room was immaculate! Mattresses super comfortable and great shower! WiFi and tv reception excellent, morning fare of coffee and fresh fruit, pastries quite a treat as well! The lobby is amazing! It reflects the honorable history of family pride and is so fun to just wander and see the treasures! My favorite part was the swimming pool with my grandchildren and the eucalyptus steam room! Wow! I thank lisa and her family for their welcome and for the comfort provided in one of THE best accommodations in which I have stayed. And as a former Navy wife, accommodations around the world! Thank you! Mary Anne DeLapp Poulsbo, WA

What a gem! The care the owners take at the Lewis & Clark demonstrate it is a family owned and run. Fruit water in the lobby, real keys for the doors, and easy and healthy grab and go breakfast. The pool is fabulous, even just to look at it. Whole place reminds me of old Hollywood - a bit of glitz, bit of joy and lot of comfort. We will be back.
