Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Got a room here late in the evening after our previous hotel booking fell through. Staff at front desk were good and got us a room despite it clearly being a busy night.

We had low expectations and just needed a place to sleep, and it delivered that; however nearly everything about the room and the hotel was pretty rough. Extremely sloppy painting, broken fixtures, holes in doors and walls, sketchy electrical work and other questionable things throughout. If the hotel was actively being renovated and cost about half the price, I'd be satisfied - but this was pretty brutal for what they were asking. Desperate times.

Pros: Staff was very friendly. Helpful when something spilled in our car. Cons: Room and hotel were dirty (crayon drawings on wall, dirty floors, stains on furniture, surfaces not wiped off well). Breakfast was bread and waffles only. No pastries, fruit etc. Dirty water backed up into tub when showering.

This motel false advertises with its pictures!! It is definitely a dump!! We arrived late and we’re so tired we ended up staying but had to switch rooms because the first room I am positive wasn’t cleaned from previous guests. It is like they made the bed and called it good! 🤮🤢 it is not worth trying to save some money to stay here. The breakfast they advertise with their pictures is bogus!! I added pictures of the actual “breakfast “. When asked about the breakfast, we were told that the night clerk apparently decided to take off in the middle of the night with no one left at the front desk to prepare the breakfast. 😵‍💫😱

We were first given a room that the water did not work in. Then our second room was just as bad. Dirty carpets, awful odor, overall disgusting. My husband cleaned the a/c filter which was caked with crude hoping the room would smell a little better. Should have left but it was after dark and we don't do well driving at night. Checked the sheets and they were clean so slept and realized the next morning, no hot water. Left Early. Complained to the desk clerk which she has not control over. Called back for management and after 3 calls was told we could have a 30% discount. Still hasn't happened.

The worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. Dirty (the whole motel), room stunk, wires all over floor, no wash clothes, laundry room exposed and a mess. Absolutely discussing! There’s a reason you can’t get a refund if you book on line, you’d cancel your reservations once you walk into the place.

Since when does a disability become a preference? I booked this hotel online yesterday, called 10min after I booked to make sure they knew I was disabled and needed bottom floor. Get there after a very long day of driving and she tells me my room is 246, upstairs and at the other end of the hotel! Um NO! She said, "Your request was a preference, we don't have to comply, maybe if you had been here earlier"! WTF! I drove from WA Stateline to middle of Montana today and it shouldn't matter what time I come in if I've paid for it! (Arrived at 9:30pm) So my only option was sleep in the car or pay twice as much as the original room fee to get a 1st floor 1 bed closet!

Now that we have checked out of place,, I would NEVER recommend them! Not only was the staff rude, uniformed about disability rights, but the room was absolutely disgusting! I would've complained and requested another room but the line of people needing their rooms changed was ridiculous. Dirty, no AC, TV not working etc... So our sheets were stained with Lord knows what, we removed the bedspread (yuck🤮) and laid on top of the top sheet using our own blankets to cover up with. The shower was full of bugs and I couldn't tell you the last time the floor was vacuumed! The ice machine did not work at all, 😤. This morning when we went to go check out the girl said she had no record of me staying there! Uhm my bank account says otherwise!🤑 Luckily tonight's motel is with a different company of hotels all together!

I booked my room through Members Choice. I arrived and was told I didn't have a reservation, even though the bill was supposed to be $98, and my debit card was charged nearly $120. The front desk gal told me the reservation had the wrong date. She attempted to cancel it to input the correct date and was not able to. She told me if I paid for my stay in cash, she would have the supervisor refund my money when she fixed the problem.
I did as instructed and talked to the "supervisor" the next day about my refund. Supervisor is in quotes because I know we are experiencing a staffing shortage but this person was rude, and kept interrupting me. She then told me to call Choice and have them call her and she would refund my money. 45 minute on hold to be told that he called her and now she has to talk to her manager first. Have I entered some alternate reality where I paid twice to stay one night and I can't get the second charge refunded?! That's not only common sense, to refund money if a customer is overcharged, but also good business practices.
When I called her to ask why she is changing her story and why she needs her manager after wasting 45 minutes of my time trying to correct their mistake, she was again rude and kept interrupting. I definitely got upset and I told her I didn't want to discuss anything more with her and to have her manager call me immediately.
Guess what? No call. Why am I even surprised?
Not sure if I'll ever see my missing $100 at this point, but I can tell you this for a fact; Hell will freeze over before I ever book a stay with this utterly incompetent, and displaying zero customer service hotel chain again. I'm a "member" and I cringe to think how nonmembers are treated if this is how they value their "members"

I wish I would have read reviews before staying here! Especially the one titled For Your Own Health Do Not Stay Here! We arrived late to Billings and beings as we are Choice Awards customers we stopped at the Econo Lodge. This was a horrible experience! The woman who checked us in was on the phone shouting to the person on the phone. When I saw head boards and stained mattresses in the hallways, I asked her what was going on and she said the motel was being remodeled. Our room was dirty with dried urine on the toilet seat and the sheets looked slept on. The bottom sheet would not stay on the mattress. It seemed like there may have been a family living in the motel, there was a man changing a messy diaper on the floor of the lobby. When we tried to check out there wasn't desk help and there were 2 other couples trying to cancel the rest of their reservations after being there one night also. They were as disgusted as we were with the conditions of this motel. Their rooms had mouse droppings in them and were dirty also. A young man who was there tried to call the manager. A man finally came and said he was a maintenance man and was working at the hotel across the street, Motel 6. When we all told him of the conditions, he just handed us a card with the telephone number for Econo Lodge reservations.

The receptionist tried to enter my room at 2 a.m. I heard someone try to open the door with a key so I opened it to confront the person and it was the receptionist. She claimed that she wasn't aware that someone was staying in the room when she was the one who assisted in checking me in. I could not sleep after that incident. The most horrible experience I ever had in a hotel.
