Many guests have commended the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis for its pristine cleanliness and top-notch amenities including the spa and pools, despite some dining options falling short of expectations. The hotel's service is consistently lauded for its exceptional staff, enhancing the overall guest experience. While rooms are generally celebrated for their spaciousness and views, a few have pointed out inconsistencies in cleanliness. Although the atmosphere is warmly regarded, some visitors have commented on a less-than-fresh scent near the pool. The hotel's location offers stunning vistas of the Gateway Arch, yet its proximity to a highway may introduce unwanted traffic noise. Critics often mention that the hotel's pricing doesn't always equate to the value received, suggesting an imbalance between cost and guest satisfaction.

This is a nice hotel with just a few hiccups. I know that all hotels are trying to adjust to the COVID pandemic but I found a few interactions annoying. First of all it is very difficult to get a paper menu for either room service or in the restaurant. This is a shame because the food is great. I was advised to go to my tv and take a photo of a QR code. Aside from the fact that I am a senior citizen and find this confusing; when I finally located the code, the internet was too slow to download the menu. When we visited the restaurant for breakfast one morning, the waitress named Hope was very frustrated that we couldn’t download the code and then told us that she didn’t have a paper menu. Since we stay at 5 star hotels frequently I would have expected that the restaurant make available a laminated menu that can be cleaned in between guests. Another issue that made me feel like I was staying at a Hampton Inn is the lack of attention to detail. After ordering coffee, Hope delivered the coffee with 2 packets of non dairy creamer. When I asked for half and half she explained that the restaurant was offering packets of nondairy cream because of COVID. She did return with a small decanter of cream that was so curdled it looked like cheese. She then explained that she’d been off for three days and no one had made cream??? We were also offered salt and pepper packets which is a first and made the service feel motel like. This was just unacceptable. We had a few hiccups like this and after that encounter decided to only order room service. This morning we received about 2 tablespoons of cream for a large pot of coffee. It looked as though they gave us what was left from another person’s meal and did not make us feel confident about the quality of the cream. A few other incidents that bothered us was being yelled at when entering the hotel through the lobby. We were being queried about where we were going. This was annoying especially because you can’t get anywhere without your room card that must be used in the elevator to go to any floor including the restaurant or spa. I would not expect to be treated like a vagrant in any hotel but was stunned that the receptionist would yell instead of walking from behind the desk. The parking is another issue. It is great that the hotel offers free parking because we don’t want attendants in our vehicle. However, the attendants at the gate make you wait and will not ask why you are waiting to be let in. With two people in the box I would not have expected to yell to get their attention every time we came in. This is just poor customer service and annoying because we were in and out of the garage daily. I will say that Desiree in the spa was amazing. Next time we will likely opt for the Ritz Carlton because we haven’t had these types of experiences. How are they able to offer small disposable salt and pepper shakers and service without so many hiccups? I’m not sure but this hotel was not a perfect fit for us.

We wanted a place to stop on our drive to Canada from Texas. We are extremely covid conscious and was looking for safest, newest hotel regardless of price within 2 hours or so around St Louis or half way to Canada. We looked at reviews and policies for about 20-30 hotels inclusive of Conrad, St Regis, JW etc.

We decided on the Four Seasons which is more than double the price of any runner ups but it was clearly the right choice for health/safety conscious travels.

I chatted with FS rep via FB and was able to get details around capacity limit and capacity of day of potential arrival along with details of their covid policy all with responses in minutes. I did the same with the JW which took hours or even days and to this date have not received an actual proper answer. I called 3 times only told to call reservation who told me to call front desk whom at the end said they dont disclose occupancy on potential dates which is unheard of.

Post booking, Ms Hays was able to provide additional details around the room we are staying such as when was the last time it was used etc and confirmed specific requests we have made. I really dont think you would get that level of info especially when you didnt ask for it at any other establishment.

If you care about COVID policy, and you are looking around the same area, you wont find a better place. You get what you paid for.

The Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis is beautiful and comfortable. Hotel employees and representatives were invariably pleasant and helpful. Everything in the hotel room was top-of-the-line, and we were able to sleep comfortably without interruption. I would absolutely recommend the hotel and I look forward to staying here again.

This was our first experience with a Four Seasons property. It was a lovely stay and it is very clear why they are in a class all by themselves. There is a difference between providing good service and exceptional service. Our needs were not just met, they were anticipated. We relaxed after our long drive in the hot tub and heated pool. The room itself was well appointed and we all were able to utilize the luxurious shower, bath and television within the mirror. Our kids were blown away by this experience. I appreciated the adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols. Housekeeping was wonderful when we asked for extra towels and toiletries.

Cold? This is a weird issue but someone has to say something. This is probably the most expensive hotel in St. Louis. Everything about out stay was fine, except the lobby. When you drive to the hotel you pull into a parking garage area. The valet took out keys and we entered the lobby. The lobby is all stone and glass. The lobby is also apparently unheated since it was maybe 6 degrees in there. The staff had on overcoats. I presumed they were taking our temperatures for a covid check and then they'd grab our bags and show us to an actual lobby area, nope. We did the whole checkin in the freezing cold. I had left my winter coat in the car since I thought I was just walking 10 feet from the car to a heated area. By the time I figured out were really going to do this in the cold the car was gone. After the checkin, which could be quicker but probably only seemed slow because of the cold, the front desk staff walked us to the elevators, but here is the kicker. You take the elevator to the 8th floor and then switch to another set of elevators to take you to your room. The 8th floor houses the golf area, restaurant and pool and has plenty of room for a lobby desk. So why not immediately show us to the 8th floor and then do the keys and stuff in the heat. It would literally take half an hour for them to move the key making machine and computer up to the 8th floor. I can only assume the main lobby is uncomfortable for most of the year. I specifically asked if they had an issue, just in case it was a temporary maintenance issue, oh no, it is just a terrible design apparently. I'd sue the architect if it was my hotel. If the solution is so simple what is wrong with the GM that this hasn't happened already? Baffling! Makes your question the entire operation. Would I stay here again, yes if I had an arch view room. Would I book this for a guest or a business meeting, no way, who would want to explain the lobby to someone from out of town.

We really loved everything about this hotel. The lobby has been recently redorcated and it is very sophisticated, Our room felt fresh, with local artwork and was well equipped. It was very clean and the housekeepers always managed to come when we were out so we were never interrupted. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and consequently had many meals on their gorgeous patio and pooldeck. I wish every hotel had such beautiful facilities. They have beautiful patio landscaping on the 8th floor with a very buzzy bar. Our rooom was just above it and they must have very good windows because our sleep was never affected by noise. The hotel staff are all very friendly and everyine wears a mask, which is really appreciated. The hotel manager is ever present and consequently, the property runs very smoothly. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and want to thank everyone for the fasntastic stay. I am a very fussy luxury traveler and can not find one thing to suggest to make it better. Well done!

This hotel is not similar to other Four Seasons as it relates to Hotel upkeep and restaurant accommodation. The only thing similar to a Four Seasons is the price it charges.
Hotel mostly empty as expected due to Covid. The rooms are dated. Especially the phones and bathrooms… not to mention the Valet garage floor is quite broken up…. Odd experience for a luxury hotel.
Their Cinder House Restaurant despite being empty asked us to wait 10- 15 minutes to be seated so the manager “didn’t overwhelm the server”. With 1 table occupied with 4 people in the dinning room and 4 tables of 2-4 people sitting on the Patio I felt this to be odd. Had a similar experience when I called to make a reservation at their restaurant. I guess they just don’t need the business.

We spent two nights at the Four Seasons St Louis for our anniversary with our 3 year old in a separate adjoining room. From arrival to departure, everything was as good as we've come to know in the last 10 years at this hotel. Almost everything looked different than the past (no menus anywhere, use phone/app for everything, masks in common areas, social distancing, temp upon arrival, wrist bands, and so on), but was still exceptional service. The renovations done during the quarantine between March and June were incredibly beautiful! The pool almost felt like normal and the service at the pool was perfect, just like we have come to expect. There were several families also trying to get out of the house, but all children were well-behaved and it made for a comforting experience seeing other families enjoying some vacation time along with us. I loved that they shut down the hotel for the weekend to non-guests (NEVER have seen that before), so it felt almost like a remote all-inclusive resort because it was all the same people and never got crowded anywhere, and you knew the hotel capacity was properly managed and would feel comfortable everywhere inside the hotel with proper social distancing. The spa is not open until July, but we were aware of that going in (not ready for a spa experience yet anyway with COVID cases continuing to increase in MO). We had a perfect time and did not want to leave! Thank you FSSTL for making us feel so comfortable and assured of cleanliness, and like we were truly on a real vacation, even though we were just 3 miles from our house.

I don’t understand how anyone can give the Four Seasons less than 5 stars. Had a wonderful in town get away. The room was so lovely, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the staff was awesome, and room service was so delicious. The spa is expensive for St. Louis, but it’s true pampering, especially the lounge area. The restaurant is first class and if the weather is good, the outside area has a great urban feel and view of the Arch.

My wife and I love to take small 3 day weekend getaways just to break up the hustle and bustle so we went to one of our favorite places, Four Seasons!! As usual the rooms are great, get an Arch view, staff is second to none and the pool is great! BUT, very disappointed with the food this time around. It's been a while since we've been there and the main restaurant has changed and WOW was it a disappointment. Room service and poolside dining comes from it as well so we were again left with a bad dining experience. Also, hopefully they have changed out the in room mini bar/food items as well. ALL OF OURS were expired. I don't mean like a few days either, one item expired in June of last year!!!! We were left scrambling to make reservations around the area for meals when our original plan was to stay on property, relax and recharge the batteries. Not so much!!
