Detailed Reviews
The staff were warm and friendly, the lobby is bright and well decorated and the room was nice enough and clean. Included in the materials in the room and online was the menu for the onsite restaurant and the room service menu...there is no room service, although you can go down to the lobby and order something and take it back to your room. The complimentary breakfast is bagels and beverages.
There is no 'shop' to even purchase bottles of water or snacks and when we went down to the on site restaurant at 1:50pm we were told they no longer serve breakfast or lunch and that dinner was all that was available. There are plenty of off site places to grab a bite, but the point is the misrepresentation of enjoying breakfast in my P.J.s
The biggest problem was that in the 5 days we stayed our room was never serviced. Every day we would call down to the lobby or stop at the desk on our way out and were told housekeeping would circle back every three hours to make sure rooms were serviced. When our room was not serviced, they would not send anyone up with fresh towels, we had to go down to the lobby and get t hem ourselves. No service also meant that the fancy coffee pods never were restocked so I only had morning coffee once. Finally on day 3, with two house keeping carts in the hall on our floor, my wife went to speak with the ladies about taking out the trash and getting fresh towels...both ladies told her the rooms they were working on were their last rooms and then they were done. How was that their last room when ours was NEVER cleaned? My wife had to take the dirty towels to their carts, take the trash to their carts and then go downstairs to get fresh towels.
If you are alright with the same towels day after day, not having your room cleaned and having to either bring back food or use uber eats - enjoy your stay. We should have stayed at the Hilton as we have before, but wanted to experience a new part of St Louis.

A beautiful hotel and the room was immaculate! We loved the decor! When we arrived they was a line and Cory who was leaving for the day saw the line and checked us in. This set the tone of the level of service at this hotel. In the evening we ordered dinner from Prime 55. It was a little confusing because in order to get room service you have to call downstairs which is fine but they in turn have to order from restaurant for you and they also have to go pick up your meal and bring it upstairs to you. That took over an hour! Randy at the concierge desk delivered our meal apologized profusely but I felt bad for him because that’s asking a bit much for one man. To the management staff you have to make room service run more proficiently or hire more staff for room service. Another great staff member was Derrick a professional and personable person. I will be back but I won’t order room service!

We're so glad you appreciated the beauty and cleanliness of our hotel, and that you enjoyed the decor! It's wonderful to hear that Cory's dedication made a positive impact right from your arrival. We apologize for the wait you experienced with room service and appreciate your suggestion for improvement—it's something we will definitely consider to enhance our guest experience. Thank you for acknowledging Randy's and Derrick's efforts as well. We look forward to your return and hope to impress you further, perhaps even with an improved room service experience. Your feedback is invaluable to us.

I write this while still checked in at this hotel. My rating of poor is based on everything so far being below what most people would feel as reasonable expectations. Starting with a bellman who is clueless about service and decorum who showed me to a room that is compared to other hotel properties small and because of the choice of barn doors provides inadequate privacy while using the bathroom.
A need to communicate with the front desk because although Wi-Fi is shown as free, ( even on Trip Advisor), after logging on according to the front desk instruction, the connection screen only allows to connect by agreeing to pay for Wi-Fi. Complimentary coffee in room is provided but the coffee maker did not operate properly and there were 2 small creamer pods which would clearly not accommodate anything but near black coffee for 2 people. Ordering a cafe latte ( because of shortage of creamer), and a banana bread pudding from room service, and being advised, sorry no bread pudding. I wonder what is next, because I have been here so far for 4.5 hrs and already completely disappointed. Having traveled extensively, I must also state that price to value is completely out of balance. I understand that each of the points I raise, one could rationalize are minor, but cumulative they project a sour tone and create a poor experience. I hope that management takes the time to visit high end properties and learns the difference between good, very good, and great with respect to hotel properties.
Because I feel that creating a negative review without a name is not fair, but considering this is a very public forum, I post the first 5 letters of my name, (Sund).

Red Roof Inn accommodations at a the price of the Ritz…
This hotel bills itself as a leading hotel, yet has the services of a stand-alone motel.
Valet Parking is $45/night, no sit down restaurant for breakfast and only offer bagels and cereal out with gallon milk jugs to share.
Wont’ be staying here again

It's unfortunate that our services and amenities did not exceed your expectations. We regret that our breakfast selection was not up to par with your standards. Very nice hotel in downtown St Louis. Close to Bush stadium. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and were impressed with the quality of the food. Valet parking is a little pricey but not more expensive than any other big city. We will definitely come back.

Very bad experience. I arrived at this hotel in the evening very tired after a day in the car. At the reception I found an unprofessional lady who was talking on her cell phone and I had to wait to check in. While the valet was completely lying on the sofa next to the reception. When I was finally able to check in I was quickly asked for my documents and credit card, it seemed that the lady wanted to hurry up so she could resume her telephone conversation which had been interrupted by my arrival. Always quickly he asked me to insert my credit card and put the pin in the poss, he made me repeat the operation several times something was wrong with his system and in the end my credit card was invalid. Luckily my partner had other credit cards, we provided 2 different ones but every transaction was always denied. The very displeased lady, what should we have said? She said that she couldn't do anything if the cards don't work and advised us to call the bank. We told her that in our town it was 2 in the morning and the bank was closed. But she didn't listen to reason. Feeling discouraged, we offered her to pay in cash, but we were reluctantly denied this too. In the end, very angry at the lady's lack of professionalism and for not wanting to find a solution in our favor, we asked her to try one of the cards again and coincidentally she managed to make the charge. The next morning when I called my bank I was disappointed to discover that my card was blocked at check in and I had to spend the whole morning on the phone spending a fortune on the phone. In 3 weeks traveling around the USA from Chicago to San Francisco I had no problems with Marriott hotels only here in St. Luis. The room he assigned us was also very small and overlooked a small internal courtyard full of noisy air conditioners. Despite being located in a central location, after this experience I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This property is a solid place to stay but nothing amazing. The view from a low floor was of an AC unit, the valet was completely full when I arrived, the up symbol lit up on the elevator when it was going down, and the wifi didnt work throughout the duration of my stay. When I talked to the front desk about it they gave me a number to call that never answered. The beds were comfy and rooms were modern though!

The hotel was very nice & clean. The front desk guy, Derrick F., was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the area, gave us all the details on the hotel, let us know that we could get free sorbet there and so much more. He really was a pleasure to have assist us. I left my purse at home with my ID in it but he was still able to help me and was so sweet. We checked in late that evening around 9 pm so we decided to go to hotel restaurant, Prime 55, and the bartender, Brandon (Mega), made the best drinks. He made the most amazing Washington Apple i have ever had. He has a way of taking your normal drink and perfecting them. We were so amazed at his skill and talents. Brandon is also a very personable and intelligent individual. This set the tone for the night as we love great hosts/customer service.
The downside came when the front desk< Derrick, left for the night and was replaced with Orlania. My son was in the room and discovered that we didn't have any towels in our hotel room. So before going up to our room we asked Orlania for towels. She asked how many we needed and I informed her that we needed 4 sets. She, Orlania, tells me that hotel policy is that she can only give me two sets. I informed her that there were three ppl in my room and wanted 4 sets. She goes to look in the computer at my reservation to see how many ppl were on my reservation then asked again how many sets I needed. I informed her that I needed 4 sets and she returned with only three. Orlania or however you spell/pronounce her name was not very friendly, personable or helpful.

A lovely hotel with very nice staff but no concierge level and no self parking. Valet was $45/night. Other garages very close by were less expensive but they were not in and out during the day. At least we got our Bonvoy points. Lol
We opted not to have daily service but towels, toiletries, etc.,were plentiful. A few blocks from the stadium and the Arch.

So we had no a/c. There was no mention of this upon check-in. Was later told the hotel was struck by lightning and the a/c compressor was operating at 50%. Hotel offered to switch our room out after the third call…at 11:30pm. Then they gave us a box fan as a fix. A box fan. Charged us $45 for valet parking and then moved my truck 10 feet into a spot. When we left it was raining….the valet didn’t even back my truck up under the covered area. Just stuck her hand out for a tip. Ordered a soda at the coffee bar. $8 for two 8oz sodas that were flat and watered down. I’m a Marriott platinum elite member. There was no “thank you” upon arrival. No offer to help with any of the issues we had other than the box fan. It is a beautiful building in a great location with extremely sub-par service and a MAJOR a/c issue during the heat of summer. I will not go back here. I was extremely disappointed with Marriott and from Le Meridien.
