Stayed at the Marriott St Louis Grand for 7 days on business and enjoyed my stay. I was upgraded to a little larger room and that helped improve my stay a lot. The concierge was very helpful when upgrading my room for me.
The rooms were clean, had a fridge (microwaves on floor 3 if needed), and comfortable. My only issue was that the one day I took my DND sign off and wanted service the housekeeping didn’t clean my room. Had to call down at midnight to get the supplies I needed.
The gym is one of the best I’ve seen at any hotels. Very spacious and full of equipment.
The concierge lounge for the evening hors d’oeuvres had one of the best spreads of a US hotel I have ever stayed at. Was way more than snacks, was a meal. The breakfast was about standard but dinner was excellent. The concierge staff were really friendly and helpful in the lounge as well.
Fed Ex is in the lower level but they charge you a handling fee for accepting packages so be warned on that. $10 for a simple letter.

Matthew checked us in and was professional and friendly. All employees were courteous and professional.
Parking is in another building across the street but the walk isn’t too bad if the weather is okay. I know we’re in a metropolitan downtown area, but the Self-Parking fee is still extreme. Not sure what it cost a month or year ago, but $30 a day is a bit outrageous.
Shower head had nice spray pattern but very low flow, meaning it takes so much longer to take a shower so the water saver shower head is negated by running the water that much longer. If maintenance changed the faucet cutoff valve, it might improve it slightly. The faucet didn’t completely shut off when pulled up. (Room 831)
Room service every other day. Really? That just doesn’t work for me. Guests need clean towels and trash emptied daily at least. Had to use the Google translate app to communicate with our housekeeping girl.
It was a very comfortable couch compared to many hotels.
A/C worked great and wasn’t too noisy. Thermostat controls were easy to operate.
Plenty of power outlets for charging stuff.
The ironing board pad was way past being worn out. No padding or cushiness left to iron effectively. Made ironing quite difficult. (Room 831)
Nice chair at the work desk and a nice dimmable light on the desk, But the desk chair has a malfunctioning caster wheel making it difficult to maneuver. I reported it, so hopefully it’s been fixed already. (Room 831)
If you buy and use quality toilet paper at home, you won’t be happy with the Marriott selection for TP. Just ask for extra.
The room “safe” was giving us a battery message. Probably needs changing. I reported this too. (Room 831).
Limited TV channel selection for a big city Marriott. Was a bit disappointed.
In the photo you will see a unexpected gift left for us on the toilet tank cover. This and the skimpy housekeeping service is why they’re getting 4 stars and not 5.
Lastly, it is extremely convenient to the American Conference Center.

We chose this hotel because we were there for a conference and it was where the conference was being held. So, the convenience was awesome.
The restaurant had an ok breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday. If you want well done omelets, be sure to watch them and make sure they are well done. I did like the bacon and fruit though.
We loved the location because it was close to a lot of places to eat. That being said, my biggest complaint is the lobby seating. The seating is great to be able to see people, which we do enjoy doing. However, on Saturday we went out to get some sandwiches from Snarf's and brought them back. We wanted to people watch and my boyfriend went up to the bar to get some beverages and we were told that we could not have outside food in there. There was 0 (zero) other seating, it was 100% for the bar. This is a first for me at a hotel where we couldn't enjoy our own food in the lobby area.
Also, for those of us with very thick and curly hair, the shower just does not cut it. I had to practically lay down in the tub under the faucet to get a decent water flow in order to wash my hair. We were there for a gala night too, so had to do the hair up nice. Even my boyfriend with much thinner hair than I was disappointed in the water pressure.
My other disappointment was that there was no pool or hot tub. If it wasn't for the conference being there, I would not have chosen this hotel.
I must say that the bell hops and valet were great! We had a lot of stuff including a very heavy cooler.
I would also make a plea with Marriot corporate to change up the shampoo/conditioner little bottles for ones that are pumps and in the showers (they actually have them at the Holiday Inn's).

Really looked forward to my stay here as part of the National Association of Home Care and Hospice annual conference but have been super disappointed in my accommodations and service. I have had to flush the toilet by filling the trash can full of water each time. Since my arrival yesterday. The bathroom sink has been plugged up as well and the soap gel bottle in the shower was empty. I reported all of this In person at the front desk because the phone is out of order as well. It just rings busy when you pick it up and before you dial . The guy at the front desk offered me a bottle to take along to my meeting for the day but i told him to have it placed in the room as I would be gone all day. He also asked me if I tried different ways to unplug the sink. Not by job buddy but I did try. I also told him on my way down that the elevator had. a large. spill with a bunch of soggy napkins in it that needed cleaned up. He didn’t seem to care even when I said I was afraid someone would fall . I wished I would have told him I had fallen and got hurt just to see his response. Needless to say, I return 8 hours later and nothing has been corrected. I had put my wet towel and bath mat in the hall as they advised but they were not replaced . I dropped the remote under the bed and found a bottle cap, gum wrapper, pill, and other trash under the bed as well as large food crumbs under the table. My traveling partner had to move rooms in the middle of the night due to her air conditioning going out and no one could fix it. The room she moved to was filthy. She asked them to mop the bathroom floor and they ran a sticky pad (like a lint roller) over it. Also, at the front desk the clerk didn’t know that the trolly out front travels between the hotel and a local casino. I will never return here and though I frequent Marriott properties, will probably think again about that.

Check in on Friday for a 4 night stay. The hotel was packed. They had 3 conferences and 2 weddings for the weekend. We are Marriott Platinum members. No upgrade available and placed in a lower room floor. Tiny room, very dark all day long causing us to have lights on in room all day long. Second day, no service to room. When I inquired as to why, I was told they only service every other day and my room would be serviced tomorrow. Next day, again no service. When we inquired, we were told service every 3 days. Makes no sense on a 4 night stay. I spent my time at a hotel with $$$ rates, making the bed, removing my own trash and exchanging dirty towels. This was my worst experience ever at a Marriott property. They are clearly understaffed. So why book so many rooms if you don’t have the staff to service your guests? Greed is the only answer to me.

We stayed one night on a road trip. The staff were pleasant and did their best to adjust to the COVID measures (masks, closed areas, social distancing etc) The room was clean, had a nice view from 9th floor. There was a door mid-room which could be opened if your party had the adjoining room so I imagine it would be noisy if you had other people next door. The negative would be the parking, down the street and $30 a night. We got a very good deal on the room so that’s ok but if you Hotwire or Priceline it’s a bit misleading if they offer 65 as a deal then reveal its $30 to park. I’d sooner just be told it’s $95 but if you’re not driving I’m sure you’d disagree.
It’s a few blocks from the arch so we had a late stroll at sunset (8-9.30pm ish) to the arch. Very impressive, very chill vibe. On the way back it was a bit nosier as some kids were heading to nightclubs etc playing loud music but you expect that anywhere at 10pm on Friday night.

Everyone we interacted with at the Marriott St. Louis Grand was a consummate professional who was very friendly and helpful. Marie at the front desk stands out in particular. Apart from being very helpful and laughing with us during check-in and then later that evening, making a point to ask us how our night had gone, she made sure to check on me as I was guarding our stuff while my wife was parking the car and had been standing there for awhile.
Parking was just around the corner from the hotel, and clocked in at a hefty $30 a night. Everything that the hotel charged for seemed to be on the high side, although our dinner at the downstairs bar/lounge was delicious. My wife's burger was one of the best she's had in recent memory, and my flatbread pizza was excellent, as was the charcuterie board that we shared. Our room was comfortable and well-kept, and we slept well. Great service and a central location are plusses for the Grand, but be aware that you will pay a premium.

Way too expensive for what you get. Let me preface by saying that they offeedr us two queens instead of the king that I booked (the only kind available at booking). Very nice of them. The first room they gave us was big and beautiful but was what seemed like a block away from the elevators which was difficult for my kid. They moved us to one almost across from it. This room was bare bones. Towels were very scratchy altho I may contribute that to heavy sanitizing due to Covid. The safe needed a new battery, the guide on the TV wasn't accurate. My kid expected to tune in to what was listed and it failed on more than one channel. The fan made a distinctive bang when it came on and very loud when running. No papers in there such as hotel services and area info. I don't use them but there was only one shallow drawer under the TV for clothing or whatever. No direct number to any services. It all goes through the operator. They were very responsive, tho. They offer valet (over $40 a day!) or self-park ½ block away. Make sure you exit the 'hotel' side otherwise you wind up in a seedy area. The only staff that was surly was the hotel restaurant staff. They were proficient but not friendly at all. All said, if you need to attend a trade show or conference at the convention center, you cannot beat the location. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. If you really like to walk you can get to the Arch, library and City Museum.

I stayed here to attend a convention at another hotel and this ended up being a blessing in disguise! It was everything I expected from Marriott, with a pristine clean room, sparkling bathtub, fancy soaps and fluffy clean towels. Well lit hallways and airy lounge for perks club members. I got to enjoy my coffee and fresh fruit, yogurt, muffin or a bagel while looking at a great view of the city.
One of the perks is the bellhop who helped me with my multiple bags, as I had to bring extra gear for the convention I was attending. The guy let me unload at the curb, then waited for me to park my car before bringing everything to my room. Since I was traveling alone, this meant the world to me!
Wifi in my room was solid, allowing me to catch up on work at the end of the day. I was too tired to go to the bar for a drink but I did take a look around and it was very nice. The pillows were amazing...my bed felt so clean and modern and elegant. I slept great, which made all the difference during my convention attendance.
10 out of 10 would stay here again!

This is one of the worst experiences that I've ever had at a hotel. I paid almost $700 for 2 rooms and 2 days and were treated like crap by a manager named Kenya. Let me start off by saying that the lady at the front desk was very welcoming and kind. The bartender was fabulous and friendly! But that's were it ends!!
There was no housekeeping which is ridiculous for the amount of money I spent. And when I came to pick up my car, it was still outside from the night before.
I finally get home and notice additional charges on my credit card. They had charged me parking for 2 cars. A $74 charge and a $37 charge. I called and spoke with a manager, who never apologized for the mistake, just said she'd remove the $74 charge with an attitude. I was a tad irritated with her response but ignored it.
Later that day, I receive an email from the manager Kenya telling me she's not removing the double charge, just the one charge of $37. She should've removed all of the charges and discounted my hotel for the problems and inconvenience this caused me along with her unprofessional attitude!! They charged an unauthorized charge and she had the audacity to have an attitude with me about it. She tried to overcharge me and got caught and couldn't even apologize!! I'm so angry with this hotel, I'll never go back!!
