I stayed at this property a few nights with family during a recent road trip. We have stayed in Residence Inn's before primarily because of the huge rooms with separate bedrooms and full kitchens. These are great for families and this type of space is virtually unheard of at other competing chains. This Residence Inn was perfectly located, easy to get to, and very close to the mall and other shopping, groceries, and food options. This property, however, is in need of a refurbishment and it appeared to be in the process of being updated. Our suite was very well used but serviceable. The refrigerator was not cold and while this wasn't a big issue during this trip, did limit our ability to keep a few items we did bring and any leftovers from meals. There were also a few items missing from the kitchen that are typically present at other Residence Inn's. A cold breakfast in a to go bag was provided which was a nice gesture however at this point not sure why Marriott properties haven't transitioned back to offering more items and a hot breakfast. We stayed at other establishments during this road trip which did provide hot breakfasts. Visitors should be aware the property is very close to the interstate and the road noise is obvious however in the room it was covered up by the sound of the fan. Overall the value for the space was great and once this property is refurbished it will be a great place to stay.

The location is right off the highway. It's within walking distance to the bus stop and within driving distance to a large mall and restaurants. It was very convenient. The lobby wasn't clearly labeled but it was the first building when you enter the parking lot. All the buildings look the same. Parking felt limited but I had no issues getting a spot close to my building. I felt very safe in this area.
I was able to check-in early. I think it was about noon. The front desk person was very kind and got me in quickly. They assigned me to a 2nd floor room overlooking the pool, which was closed due to the coronavirus. The fitness room was closed, also. My room was clean. The full kitchen had everything plus coffee and popcorn. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap. There was a lot of square footage and closet space. The king bed was comfortable with nice pillows. Heat & AC worked perfectly. Lighting was good. They also have the local paper and the Wall Street Journal every day.
Breakfast was a to-go bag. There was a small muffin, an orange, packaged boiled eggs, and a small granola bar.
Check-out was at noon.

Enjoyed the stay in a suite, which provided more room even for an overnight stay to attend a Cardinal Baseball game. Clean room and all amenities were provided for a suite with kitchen.
Three star rating is dued to the following: Sadly the issues I would offer are that the stairs to our 2nd floor suite were badly cracked and showing age wea/tear and could break off and fall, leaving a tripping/falling hazard. The pool was not filled and appears to not have been in use for quite some time. The breakfast area was large and inviting, but sadly not in use as this establishment no longer serves a breakfast, free or otherwise. A wasted space. If you have a family stay for several days the facilities are nice for the stay, but a free hot breakfast and a working pook would have made the stay more complete.

If only I could give this rating ZERO STARS!! Don’t mind the terrible parking lot, but the room is a whole situation on its own! The room was dirty and still is dirty. There was not any towels in the kitchen and the dishwasher was filled with dishes. So when asking the front desk for towels, and mentioning the dishes she reassured they were clean and the room had been cleaned. But clearly the room was not even touched… there was crumbs and food marks all over the tables, glitter all over the seats and HAIR in the beds. I could go on and on how disgusting the room was, after one night I will be switching hotels. Save yourself, stay anywhere but here!!

We were very lucky to discover the fleas in the room before we had unpacked. My kids began to get bit within 5 minutes- I even found them upstairs on the master bed - so they were everywhere in the room.
Watch out! Fleas can travel home with you and they are almost impossible to get rid of.
Also, the pool was closed. I wasn’t offered any compensation for the trouble of moving hotels and the enormous about of laundry and disinfecting we had to do.
Staff response was a shrugged shoulder. “It’s a pet friendly hotel” no solutions offered or given.
Disappointing

The photos of the room do not match up with what they have in the website. There was no mention on the website about remodeling going on or at check it. It was disappointing.
Overall the room seemed clean, but it just smelled. The room had a musty smell upon check in. It was gross, but since we really just needed a place to sleep - we powered thru it.
The room had a pull out sofa but no extra blankets or pillows in the room. We only had 2 towels for 3 people. The bathroom was clean but seemed like it need work.
Lastly, and this is the safety component for me. I would not stay here again. Our key card was not working when we returned back from the game at 11:30 pm at night. 1. We waited for 10 minutes with no one at the desk along another guest. I finally rang the bell and someone came out. I told them I needed a new key card and in front on the guest they said, “what room”. This is incredibly dangerous and should be rectified by training. You never state a guest’s room number in front of anyone because the man beside me was not my husband. I quickly gave my driver’s license to the front desk agent and thankfully they did not say my room number when I got the key back. I would not stay here if I was traveling alone. For this reason, we will not stay here again.
I honestly do not know how this hotel is in the Marriott family. Everything was meh to nope. From the area that we were in, I would check out the Homewood Suites next because it looked really nice.

Overall a nice room. Plenty of space and didn’t feel like typical hotel room. Check-in slow due to large group checking in on my arrival with one desk clerk. Size of suite and amenities similar to a property I love at a resort at a much lower price.
Biggest issues: bed very uncomfortable and worn to the point that it was sunken in. The pillow top added to the mattress did not fix the problem and they should replace the mattress in suite 1714. Too tired to complain and ask for another room after dragging our belonging to the room. We will check everything first before bringing in our luggage during our next visit.
Oh and the room smelled of cigarette smoke and dust. The vent was covered in dust.
A magnifying mirror would be nice.

Never again. The Residence Inn has been our go to place for visits to St Louis for the last 6 years, but it has clearly gone downhill. Room "service" every 7 days so effectively no service. Room smelled of a "cleaned" up room that had been smoked in. Breakfast on Friday was, well was hard to know what it was. Saturday and Sunday there was an attendant that kept the food topped up and the tables clean. There used to be microwave popcorn in the room...now not even ice or paper and a pen. No directory or TV directory and the TV signal kept breaking up.

This was a horrible experience!! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere - fast! The first room they gave us smelled awful and was dark and dirty. The 2nd room smelled a little better at first, but still dirty. Heavy layer of dust on ceiling fans and on AC vents, huge dead beetle on wall, stains on carpet, dirty chairs and couch, inside toilet rim was filthy, linoleum on upstairs bathroom floor was separated, downstairs ceiling fan lights would not stay on and one was missing the glass lamp shade, etc. Also - there were people smoking outside our room and the cigarette smell was being sucked in by the AC unit. So gross. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but left after night 1 because it was so bad. We would have left that first night but didn't have another place to stay. I cannot believe I paid close to $250 for this disgusting room. Never before have I had this kind of experience in any hotel, let alone a Marriott brand. Steer clear by all means!

These are small furnished extended stay hotels. I don’t know their weekly rate..
They are suites with a sleeping area, living area and full kitchen. The location has easy access to shopping and dining but it is somewhat run down.
The room is private but be careful with security. I had my room stolen, the hotel mistakenly handed the key to my room to criminals, it was 10 days ago and the Residence Inn by Marriott hotel does not pay, they sent me a Claim from an insurance company, ahhhh surprise, since the 14th of May the company is not the insurer of the hotel !!!! They do not compromise with the guest, look for another hotel!
