The room was nicely redone. It had a few quirks that I personally didn't like. The sliding barn style bathroom door was beautiful but didn't stay all the way open. The shower you literally have to be standing under in order to turn it on so get ready for a quick freezing wakeup. The bathroom sink handles were stiff and needed a little oomph to work. However, based on appearances it was all pretty.

The bed was okay on comfort level. I'd say a 5-6 out of 10. It was a little too firm.

The tip only valet service.... when I got there it was only one man running back and forth. He was very pleasant though. When I left there was no one. Figured out, only after going back inside and asking the front desk, you have to scan your valet ticket at a kiosk you'd never see as it's beside the VIP checkin, and it still took 10 minutes of waiting. There has to be a better way to work that system.

Went for the Tim McGraw concert . Room was very nice and close to venue . Assuming Covid staffing issues still has a big impact here as food and fun activities were nowhere to be found after 10 pm. Vending machines in the hotel will cost $2 plus per item .
Charlie Gittos on property was delicious, the sports bar (99 Hops House ) had two chances : the 1st night we thought it would be fun to listen to music and have a few drinks however not one single person acknowledged us, even after moving to a different spot so we left before 10, website said it was to be open til 1 so not sure what happened but someone could have said “ hey sorry we are closing “ .
Concert night we wanted to grab a bite - limited menu which is understandable, still very short staffed and little sense of concern for getting people in and out . Food was ok .
So if you go , be sure to stop by the store on the way in and eat early if you plan to stay on site
. Didn’t see much Hollywood memorabilia like Tunica but maybe I missed it in the smoke .
Tons of .01 machines , Couldn’t find where to use my $10 from the App I sighed up on.
Didn’t see a gift shop like most casinos have either - but in the end we had fun and everyone was really nice ( except the 99 Hops House staff on Friday night )

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel this past week for the Foo Fighters which was on a Tuesday. Let me tell you, if you are hungry after a show don’t stay here it is not worth the money. There was absolutely no where to eat at this casino. Even before the concert the food selection was small. It seems all their restaurants are only open on the weekend. You would think for a big show such as the foo fighters they would make sure they opened their food vendors for the evening/morning. Nothing is worse then waking up to go find breakfast and there is none to be had. We won’t be staying here again if we come down for a concert. You can drink and gamble but you can’t eat.

My wife and I spent the weekend of November 25 and 26, 2023 at Hollywood Casino Hotel in St. Louis. Check-in was fast and simple. Our room was basically spotless and everything worked; TV and remote, the lights, etc. I quickly noticed that the room had absolutely no smell, which is a very good thing as I don't thing I have ever stayed in a hotel that didn't have at least some sort of air freshener scent. The HVAC system worked good and made it easy to regulate the temperature in the room. There were two minor items of note that could stand improvement. The first is that it would have been nice if there had been a bath mat in the shower as the bare tub floor caused my wife and me to feel somewhat precarious in the shower. The second item is that the accent chair in the room is not very comfortable to sit in...unless you use the desk chair as an ottoman for your feet and then it's not too bad. But...who stays in the room much when you're at a casino.

We checked into this hotel for a hockey tournament to be greeted by bed bugs on the wall and the mattress under the sheets. We were moved to another room where there was a flee on my husband's arm. The third room was a suite, but if you don't count the big black live spider or the molding that fell off the vanity to the floor, or the shower handle that was broken, I guess it wasn't so bad. Every one of the 3 rooms smelled like smoke, so if you aren't a smoker, get ready. The restaurants were decent, and the staff was friendly, but the hotel is very crowded, underwhelming, and dirty. Stay somewhere else if you are visiting St. Louis. There are some very beautiful areas!

This hotel gets 2 stars, because although it had nice rooms in the renovated sunset tower, I wouldn’t stay here again.

It’s out in the middle of nowhere, you can’t walk to anything and would need to take an Uber or cab if you want to go anywhere else. That wouldn’t be too big of an issue, IF they had everything you need at the hotel, but they don’t.

For a 24 hour casino, there is NO food options after midnight, which is ridiculous. And the only place open after 10, is a Thai place. Which was good, but I was forced to eat there both nights since there was nothing else open after 10.

Again, you’re at a casino, people are there late, especially till midnight, you need at least one other food option that is more basic fare for people who don’t want Thai.

Their breakfast place doesn’t even open until 8, and their coffee shop not until 7, and the coffee shop doesn’t even have any breakfast sandwiches! That is so basic, if Starbucks can have that, this place should too so the only options aren’t pastries.

Also no room service, and no one picks up the phone at the restaurant if you want to place a to go order instead of having to walk all the way down stairs and be told it’ll be 20 minute wait for a basic quesadilla to be made.

Their shop that sells basic stuff like sunscreen and such, is only open some days of the week, and doesn’t even open till 10 am. And they had no bug spray! For being in the south, right next to a river, you need to sell bug spray! I had forgotten to bring some, and the lady suggested I door dash it. I shouldn’t have to, you should sell some there.

The hotel room also only had one roll of toilet paper, there always need to be at least one extra in the bathroom.

And lastly, one of the reasons I booked the hotel was the free airport shuttle. When I checked in I tried to book it, but it could only be booked at the bell hop desk, and they were not there. I was out all the next day, so figured I would book it when I went to have my luggage stored till I needed to go to the airport in the late afternoon. Went to do that, no bell hop, girl from front desk had to run over, and then was told there was no shuttle that day because the girl had called out, on a Friday. And instead of paying for an Uber or cab, the manager said they couldn’t do that. I have been at other hotels were I needed to get to the airport outside of their shuttle times or someone was not available, and they have called and paid for a cab; THAT is called customer service, and what should be done.

This hotel just doesn’t seem to care at all about the customer experience, just getting people in the door and taking their money.

Would not recommend, stay somewhere else

On 7/22/2022 at 5:50pm, I have made a $500 reservation for next month and the associate that I spoke with, Jonae was beyond rude when we were on the phone. I made my reservation and gave her my email to send me my details. When I checked it was not there. I called back to inform that the email did not come. Ms. Jonae attitude was not of what Hospitality is all about. She proceed to rush me off the phone. I called back and asked to speak to a manager so that I can get my reservation details. Jonae would not transfer me to a manager and she stated that I was being "difficult" because I refuse give anymore information due her behavior with over the phone. I reiterated the nature of my call several times and I informed that her behavior was unsatisfactory and wanted to speak to her manager. Ms. Jonae still would not transfer me and said, "due to the nature of the call, I cannot transfer you to a manager". I told her I just wanted my reservation details and she still would not transfer me nor try to verify any of my information that she took down to see if it was correct or not. I’m trying to take my kids to Six Flags before they go back to school and she is making very difficult for us to be able to enjoy our in this hotel. I’m very close canceling the reservation and going to another hotel that has better trained employees.

I booked this hotel as it was located right next to the Amphitheater. It was purely for location and it is well placed if you are seeing a concert there. They run like a well oiled machine on concert nights and you can clearly see it is not their first rodeo. That is where the compliments end. Upon arrival we received a very stern warning from the front desk clerk stating that if we smoked in the room we would receive a $200 fine. No worries there as we are both non smokers. Our suite was outdated and old, but worse than anything it reeked of cigarette smoke. The $200 should have been paid to us to endure the disgusting smell. We reported this to the front desk as well as the disgusting 'goop' that was all over the light switch. Unfortunately they did not have another suite to move us in to. Instead we had to endure 2 nights of stench. Now everything that I took into that hotel smells of smoke, including my suitcase and the packing pods. Overall a very unpleasant experience.

The hotel staff was extremely rude and very unprofessional!! We stayed for one night over the weekend of July 11th, 2020 and was my wife and I and two of our friends so we got two hotel rooms for the night. My wife went to the casino and spent quite a bit of money in their poker room while our friends and I went to Buffalo wild wings to watch the UFC fights. My wife got done playing before we returned to the hotel and I had forgotten to give her a room key. So she went to the front desk of the hotel and asked politely if she could get a room key. They asked what room and what her name was and she told them. They then asked for her ID to confirm that she was who she said she was. Then they told her that they wouldn't give her a room key because she wasn't the person that had booked the room! She then called me and I called the hotel and asked them if they could please give her a key and they told me that they wouldn't even though we both have the same last name and she was there with me when we checked in. So our friends and I had to leave watching the fights to come back to the hotel so my wife could get in the room which ruined our night! I went and had a talk with the manager on duty for the hotel and she told me that they won't give room keys to anyone not registered on the room and I asked why they didn't tell us that when we checked in and she told me they are supposed to but didn't but was still my fault for not knowing. Very unprofessional and won't stay there again!!!

No not a riverboat. They originally had a moat around it to get by the Missouri Law. Which has changed I think maybe 20 yrs ago. If you look out a guest room window on the west side you can see what looks like Riverboat smoke stacks still. So answer is its land locked and a nice size casino and hotel.

In the past, we have done this and there was no charge for leaving our vehicle for a week if we spent the night. They just asked us to fill out a card with our car info and how long it would be parked there. This could have changed but that is how they have done it in the past. I'm not sure how often the shuttle runs but we ran into issues with the start time. It didn't run until 6am and we had earlier flights. I would say call the hotel real quick and they should be able to tell you for sure in just a minute.
