Nestled near the Mall of America, the Radisson Blu offers an inviting atmosphere with its beautiful Scandinavian-inspired lobby and modern rooms, as noted by many guests. While the hotel's location and cleanliness earn high marks, some visitors feel the amenities, particularly the pool and lack of complimentary breakfast, fall short.
Room comfort is generally praised, though noise can sometimes be an issue. Travelers appreciate the friendly service, despite occasional delays, but advise to watch out for additional fees that may affect the perceived value of their stay.

The trip was great! We were right next to the Mall of the America and the Hotel was wonderful! The hotel had great amenties, the gym was wonderful and the grill was quite nice (and very kid friendly).

Just got back from my trip from the 24th to the 28th of July. Mandatory masks were just implemented a day after arrival. There are sanitizers throughout the hotel. I was really glad that there is one @ the elevator. The restaurant was really good and really nice modern decor! All of the ingredients are picked Minnesota local. The waiters are very professional and wear masks. I only wish they would stay 2 meters away when we order so I can take my mask off. When masks were made mandatory, one day there teens and kids running around the upstairs lobby without a mask (high risk group). I would like to see more security making sure that rules are followed. Customer service at the lobby was great. Room service was fast. They also wore masks. The bed was heavenly. Great, fast internet. The only criticism I’d give is about the TV. New movies are $30, and to use the chrome internet option, which is available (good), you must bring your own HTMI cable. The hotel won’t give you one. I’d recommend bringing your own sanitizing wipes to clean the counters in your room and bathroom when you get there. You never know! Happy traveling!

So I have stayed here for work many times, but never have gotten to enjoy it on a vacation type setting. Thanks to Gary in Sales for showing amazing customer service and such kindness, we were upgraded to a small suite. The check in process was seamless. Sophia was beyond friendly and attentive. All smiles and extremely helpful! Our room was on the top floor and overlook the airport. Watching the planes land and take off was quite impressive!
The location of this property to the Mall of America is perfection. It’s inside it! You never have to put on a coat or get wet if it’s raining. Brilliant!
We did have breakfast at the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious (love the apple cider jam). Excellent service!
I must add that the entire hotel was spotless! Every rug was vacuumed, surface sanitized, roomed just smelt clean. Couldn’t have felt safer.
Thank you to Gary and his team for an amazing experience! We cannot wait to come back. 5 stars!

Booked this hotel for 2 nights through Hotwire and would say the hotel was worth the $70/night I paid. The person at the check-in desk was pleasant and all safety protocols were followed. We easily were able to make a reservation at the pool, which was large and nice. The room was spacious, but the sheets did have a few tears in them. No microwave in the room and no complimentary breakfast make the stay much more expensive if you order from the restaurant. The food from Fire Lake was good (not great) but overpriced. And $18 per night for parking seemed steep.
But it was my morning of checkout experience that ruined my stay. I took my family’s bags out to the car before going to spend an hour at the Mall of America before checking out, leaving just some food and drinks that I planned to pick up before we left. When we arrived back to the room at 10:45am (checkout was at 11), my room had been stripped and my drinks were missing - see photo. I talked to the front desk and they said that housekeeping will knock and if they come in and don’t see bags, they will start cleaning the room...even if you’re not checked out yet. I have huge concerns regarding privacy and safety with this practice. My drinks were not recovered. Sophia at the front desk was apologetic, and did refund my parking fee and said I’ll have some points added to my Radisson Rewards account (which I have yet to see), but this was less about the money and more about the housekeeping practices. Bottom line: it’s ok if you’re going for the proximity to MOA, but there are much better hotels for less money if you’re looking for a comfortable, affordable, family-friendly stay.

The first issue I had with the Radisson Blu is with their customer service over the phone. This might be at the corporate level if they have their calls sent to the same location instead of this particular establishment. The customer service over the phone was horrible, the first time I called I asked if they would price match as I wanted to give them the opportunity to take all of my business instead of going through a third party site that would collect a fee. They informed me they would not price match so I booked through Priceline. Being curious the next day after booking with Priceline I found that the rates matched there's the next day.
Phone call number two: I called ahead to see if we could check in at 2:30 instead of two, I was informed that rooms are not assigned until check in, I asked if I could check in on the phone as I have a toddler with me and would rather not get her out of the car seat and back in if we could not get to our room. The gentleman on the other line did not care and said again "rooms are assigned at check in" and hung up on me.
Customer service at the hotel was completely opposite at check in. The gentleman directing traffic and the lady at the front desk were extremely nice.
Tip: bring a box fan to sleep if you need noise. The doors on the 9th floor slammed so hard that it woke us up every time a neighbor would open their door. This could be an easy fix with adjusting the pneumatic cylinder.
Some things that bothered me but were at no fault of the hotel...neighbors screaming at each other in the hallway..and another big one especially since I was traveling with my child, on Sunday night the 9th floor smelt completely of marijuana.

Stayed for 3 nights. Paid extra for a top floor because it was advertised to be quieter. But it was loud the whole time. They do not have soft close doors and everyone lets their door slam. Cleaning staff spend the whole day opening/ closing the doors and letting them slam.
You currently have to make a reservation to use the gym and I was told it opens at 7:00 a.m. I had a 7:00 a.m. reservation yet when I went up there it was totally full and I was unable to use the equipment. I went back down to the desk and asked why it was full if they opened at 7:00 a.m. and I was told that they let in people early. So what is the point of a reservation then? The same thing happened with the restaurant. We were told they open at 5:00 p.m. and we had a reservation yet when we got down there people were halfway through their meal. So clearly the rules do not apply to everyone or some people are getting preferential treatment.
We stayed in a suite. All the furniture was faux leather and washable. Yet everything had to be wiped down because we could see it wasn't clean.
There is a glass window on the bathroom door and if someone uses the bathroom in the middle of the night it lights up the whole room. We asked for a nightlight so we would not have to turn on the bathroom light and we were told they do not have night lights but they would find us something that would illuminate. Asked twice...never got it. Also asked for more TP multiple times, never got it and had to go track down cleaning staff.
The mall opens at 730am for mall walking yet the hotel doesn't open their connected skyway until 10am. There is no lobby per say. There is a check-in area but there really isn't any place in the hotel to sit if you just don't want to be in your room for a while. For someone who wakes up at 5:00 a.m. and their spouse doesn't wake up until 10:00 a.m. I typically go sit in the lobby and read. The hotel doesn't offer any type of free breakfast. They have room service but no menu in the room. I just wasn't impressed with this hotel at all, especially considering the cost. If I do a MOA weekend again I will pay half the price and stay across the street.

About our stay on 2/21/2020 room # 443 and 825
The check in process was great, the room was clean the problem came when we rolled back the bedding 2 used tissues came out of the bedding, also we tried to call the front desk but the phone did not work either showed charged but would not turn on. So off we went to the front desk after a small discussion we finally we able to get another room clerk offered 2 free drink vouchers but forgot to give them to us, that room was clean but the alarm clock would not work the power cord was missing. So out of 2 rooms each one had problems. We’ve been down there the last 3 years around this time to celebrate a birthday / anniversary each time great this time not so much.

Dear bcgardner513 We appreciate you taking the time to share feedback on your recent stay. While we're pleased to see our Check in Team were friendly and helpful we are extremely disappointed to hear about the cleanliness issues you noted in the two rooms you were in. It definitely does not match what we expect our guests to experience. This information has been shared with our Director of Housekeeping and we are addressing it with our team to make sure we are being fastidious with our servicing of rooms and providing clean accommodations to all of our guests. We apologize that this stay did not match the same expectations that you had received during your last three years with us. We appreciate you making aware of this so that we may address it head on. We do hope you will visit us again in the future with the hope to provide an experience that is memorable for the all the right reasons.

This hotel is posh, clean and the rooms are beautiful. The restaurants are great. The spa was a disappointment. The relaxation area was terribly noisy and when we asked the staff to please respect the quietness of the spa the desk worker was rude and wouldn’t ask the ladies group to stop talking so very loudly she refused and responded they weee waiting on their manicures. My husband had to ask them to kindly be quiet. We spent a fortune here on couples massage and facials which were good but the whole relaxing, quiet spa experience was ruined by the rudeness of the staff and the lack of respect for the customers. People go to a spa for relaxation and quiet not to overhear other peoples conversations while waiting for your treatments. I would not recommend the spa The hotel was lovely though and close to MOA shopping.

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, peak check in I'm certain. There was one person at the front with 14 people waiting to check in. The woman was very pleasant to deal with though. We made it to our room and the toilet had just been used. The room had two towels total and the buttons on the upholstered chair were falling off. On top of that out phone didn't work. The only way to get your luggage to your room is by taking it up an escalator first. The food in the restaurant was anemic at best. There were 10 customers in the area and it took 20 minutes to get two side salads and their house made chips. Lars, the bartender was very friendly and informative about areas to go for food and drinks downtown. Our second day there (we were there for a wedding) we asked about the wedding shuttle that the bride and groom had arranged, and no one at the front knew anything about it. They did ask someone, at our request, who said she knew "something" about it from a different wedding guest. This was when they decided to give us our welcome package for the wedding guests as well. In the morning when checking out there was no one, no one at the front desk. Maybe it was a perfect storm, but the whole experience was really quite bad.

Sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the 4 diamond service that we pride ourselves with. Your experience at our FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar has been reviewed with our team. Appreciate the positive feedback with our bartender but we do not have a staff member named Lars. We hope when you are next in visiting the area you will give us another opportunity.

I have stayed at this hotel at least once a year for the last 8 years or so and have always had a wonderful experience up until our recent stay. At check in I was told that I would have to come back down to the desk to recheck in for our second day since they had split the reservation for some reason. Our room was not cleaned after the first night, so I informed the housekeeper in the hall and they just gave me a roll of toilet paper and 1 towel for my 4 member family and did not clean the room. The pool and exercise facilities were closed, which I can understand due to Covid, but I was not informed of this when I called to make the reservation. To top it off, my credit card was overcharged and when I called to inform them they were rude and told me I would just have to wait and they would call me when they figured it out. After a day or so of no call back I contacted them again and they said it could take up to 10 days to correct the error. Sorry to say that our family tradition of an annual stay at Mall of America may have to move to a different hotel next year.
