Catlins Farmstay B&B is a great location for visiting the many scenic attractions of the beautiful natural Catlins area of Southland. We are situated 10 minutes drive from the 160 year old fossil forest at Curio Bay where dolphins and penguins may also be seen.We are genuine kiwis farming 2800 sheep, 500 deer, and 150 cattle on 1000 acres with the help of 3 sheep dogs. You may choose from hosted accommodation at Catlins Farmstay B&B or self contained studio accommodation at Waterside Cottage (built in 2007) in the village of Waikawa - an old fishing settlement.

This farmstay added so much to my wonderful trip through the South Island of NZ: delightful hosts, extremely cute kids, in the middle of pure nature. It is only 10 minutes by car from Curio and Porpoise Bay, well known for its rare Hektor Dolphins and Yellow Eyed Pinguins. Thank you.

We had an amazing stay. Warren and Jac are beautiful people and you will feel directly comfortable. The room we stayed in was big and clean. The bed is amazing and the shower is really powerful. Lot of variety in breakfast:D. They tell all the beautiful spots around there place and even some kind of hidden place where the most of the tourist people don't come. It's great to walk around there property, in the spring and summer they will have a lot of flowers. Birds singing. It is close to Curio Bay. The good thing about there place is that it's surrounded by trees, so even with a lot of wind you don't feel it. Love to come back again!

We stayed here for 3 nights. Beautiful gardens. Lovely hostess Jacelyn with son Bo. Husband and the other son were away. Jacelyn was very welcoming and gracious. Her breakfasts were wonderful! Although this is not a true Farmstay any longer, Jacelyn lined up a sheep farm tour for us, which we really enjoyed. The beach at Curio Bay was the best we’ve seen in New Zealand. Wide, expansive, beautiful and empty. Do take precautions for the sandflies.

A conveniently located beautiful little farmstay B&B with friendly new owners Jacqueline & Warren with their two cute children. We spent three nights and had a lovely room looking out onto the fabulous and colorful garden. The room was very comfortable and clean and the large breakfasts were amazing and delicious. I really highly recommend this B&B but with so much to see in the area make sure you stay a few nights or more. We would be back for sure on our next visit to NZ.

Catlins farmstay has resently changed owners. It is not a working farm, their new website explains this. Friendly new owners, lovely garden. Room large, and clean. Breakfast was ok. Needed to ask for more loo roll and tea for our room.
