My husband and I needed to get away for a few days. We wanted water views and this hotel fit the bill. Fortunately for us our rooms were ready when we arrived at about 2 p.m. on Sunday. Staff was very friendly. The room looked just like the pictures and was for the most part clean. We had a first floor room as we wanted to walk right out to the water. Be aware that room 106 is very close to where the jet skis and other things are rented so there was a lot of walking by the room. It was not horrible and got a lot better on Monday. Great place to view the sun rise and views of the Bay. Air conditioning worked great. My only real complaint is what they call breakfast. I believe COVID has something to do with it but it was pretty sad. Overall we enjoyed our stay but due to the cost may consider another location.

Location and beach is great, but felt like I was duped into paying too much when using Booking.com. This room was not worth over $700. Not even $350 if we are being fair. It’s a nice place for families with young children who may spend time on the beach. We have teenagers and spent less than an hour on the beach. The pool and spa are nice. We had first floor bay-facing room, and every family who walked by our room looked right inside. It was uncomfortable making eye contact with people in my PJs. So I would recommend a balcony if you choose to stay here. The breakfast was a complete joke - cereal, cheap yogurt and mandarines. They claim this is for our safety but it’s for their convenience. Plenty of busy hotels are doing buffet or sit down free breakfast, for less money. I would not return. If needing a bay front hotel, I would instead return to the Delamar.

Make sure you get the balcony view of the lake otherwise stay somewhere else. The patio made the room a 3 star . The room is outdated but comfortable. The pool is super crowded every night with kids but its nice they have adults only from 10 to 11 each night. They also offer a free breakfast of fruit, eggs or yogurt.

Staff was friendly, all kids, helpful if you need new key cards which everyone needed multiple times a day. Outdoor key receptacles never work. If a group of people was trying to enter the building everyone would join to see if anyone had a functional key card. This was our first trip with our 3 year old son since the pandemic. The beach is nice. No guidance over some unruly guests. Two large men (barrel chested, fat, aggressive) got into a fight on the beach using extremely foul language. I could hear it from my room in the second floor. Nobody stopped this. I yelled down and offered to come down to help shut them up in front of the little children everywhere listening to their foul language and fighting (really fowl, not “stupid” or “damn”). For 500 dollars a night there is NO service. Nobody cleans the rooms. We even had the house cleaner who was picking up nasty trash in the balls that you just gave to toss out there for clean bedsheets. There were none. Apparently the hotel excuse is “covid” but nobody wears a mask in the hotel. Somewhat sloppy, no services, breakfast options are not good, straight from 7-11, literally. Never ate it. For 100-150 a night, maybe. I was mislead by the online and website material. Next time will definitely stay at one of the neighbors properties, but not grand beach or sugar beach. Good Things: Pool and hot tub (smaller side though) Beach location is nice. TWC water sports were really helpful and nice.

My husband and I have been staying here every summer for at least 10 years but will never return. The place is filthy in the mornings with piles of wet used dirty towels and trash thrown outside every door - they tell all the guests to just throw everything on the floor outside the door where it stays for a couple hours and gets worse by the hour. We had to side step the piles of filth just to get out in the morning. This exposes every guest to all kinds of diseases and is NOT acceptable under any COVID standards. Other hotels we’ve stayed at are cleaning and wiping things down more since COVID but this place has declined to an unsafe place to stay.
