The room was clean and simple. We stayed in the motel section and that did not include breakfast but Bentleys Cafe right next door served a great breakfast that was reasonably priced. We were treated to an amazing fireworks display which St Ignace has every Saturday in the summer, and we could watch right on the deck of the hotel. For a lovely over night stay, I would highly recommend this hotel.

This quaint bed & breakfast is a great find and a true gem. The view from the broad front veranda includes a park, Lake Huron, and Mackinac Island. The interior is nicely appointed with lovely antiques. The rooms vary in size and amenities to suit almost any budget. We stayed in the Maple Room, which is a charming little room with a lovely view and en-suite bathroom… clean as a whistle & perfect for our needs. The yummy Breakfast was prepared & served in the Breakfast Room along with stories of the history of the house and various antiques by James. If your sojourns take you to St. Ignace, I highly recommend this fabulous B & B!

We were planning to spend a weekend in St. Ignace but ended up extending our trip due to weather concerns on the Mackinac Bridge. They were very accommodating with that. Gave us fantastic advice about what to do in the St. Ignace off-season. Breakfast was delicious, and the room was quiet, beautiful, and spacious. The house is situated right in the centre of St. Ignace, in a historic building with great views of the bay. Fireplace in the common area was great for spending time beside in the winter evenings. Colonial House has many loyal customers who come back again and again, and they can count us among those customers now, if they ever have rooms open when we next visit St. Ignace.

We drove for 11 hours and just needed a place to sleep before we headed over to Mackinac Island. We didn't want to spend a couple hundred dollars for a chain or a motel that had amenities we wouldn't be using. We checked out several places online and found the Colonial Inn. The prices were extremely reasonable so we worried, is this place sketchy? It is not. Quite the opposite. While it is older, (as are many of the smaller motels in town) it is well cared for and clean. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in the motel. Check in is at the bed & breakfast house next to the motel and it is charming. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, clean place to crash for the night, this is it.

The place is absolutely beautiful with its victorian decor and numerous antiques displayed throughout. Our room, the Cherry, was large and well appointed, with a view of the lake. Mike, who works here (and wears many hats) was very friendly and accommodating, and made us feel at home. The breakfast was satisfactory, and we liked that you could get coffee starting at 7 am.

We stayed here at the motel part of the property - it was nice and very affordable. The room while small, was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great as it is walking distance to the Mackinac Island ferry as well as other places in town.

A clean and comfortable place to stay. We had a great view of Lake Huron from our room. It is located right in the middle of town so you can walk to many of the shops, restaurants and to the Mackinac Island ferries.

My wife discovered this place in April/22 when stayed for our anniversary. We were so impressed we booked reservations for the 4th of July. They did not disappoint! The view for the parade and fireworks are unrivaled. The fare was tasty, unique and of good portion. Not to mention that the place is uber clean! The staff are the best! They are in-tune with all the surrounding goings-on. Not to mention they are full of stories and history of the house and area. They strive to make their visitors repeat until they feel like family. If you are looking for a great couples getaway look no further! I almost hesitate to share as I don't want the secret to get out, but that would be a disservice to Chris & Mike.

On the spur of the moment, I decided to take a trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Colonial House Inn had one room left. I feel very happy to have gotten it. The Inn is turned out to be a very pleasant little gem. My room was quant and very curly decorated. The inn keeper was welcoming, and it immediately felt like home. I will visit Saint Ignace, Michigan again soon, at least once more this summer. I will definitely stay at The Colonial house Inn. It is located in the heart of the little town. Walking distance to dining and the ferry dock. The ferry runs to Mackinaw Island. Fantastic find, can’t wait to return.

I had another wonderful stay here last weekend. After well over a year of not travelling, it was a pleasure to return here where I felt safe. Rooms are always clean and Chris and Mike are always welcoming. This is the only place in St. Ignace I stay.

Sorry-I did not see those rooms as they were closed when we were there. B&b was very clean and in great shape so I would guess the hotel is comparably since run by same couple.
