Great location just over the dunes to Opunake Surf Beach. Park had unfortunately received a lot of rain in preceding days that limited site availability, as they were trying to allow the ground to dry out and not get tyre ruts and mud everywhere. Facilities were fairly clean, but basic, really annoying shower set-up was the push button plunger timer affair with no temperature control, so if you don't like a luke warm shower, or a continuous one, tough bikkies!

This was a lovely campground. It wasn’t too busy when we were there so the owners let us pick our own site to set up on. Good amount of kitchen cooking and washing up facilities. Lots of showers and toilets in the bathroom block. Loved being so close to the beach. We would definitely come back here in the future.

Great spot. Close to town if you need respite from the kids at the pub. Less than ten minute walk. Or a trip to the 4 square for groceries and a bottle of wine. Lovely flat beach for the kids but also good surfing. Excellent shop for ice cream fish and chips. Very good clean showers and toilets. Would definitely stay again.

Terrible customer service. Tried to book a camp site - only wanted two nights but they were saying they could only find ones where we would have to shift the site after one night. Seems pretty unbelievable. Not apologetic or willing to consider other options. Incredibly arrogant. Would not recommend dealing with them.

We're sorry you didn't accept our explanation email, as per below: "We have received notification you tried to make a booking through our website but unfortunately this was not able to be completed. We do not have one site available for the whole period of time you are wanting - just sites here and there." We thought the communication was clear as we sent the same explanation out to a large number of people who tried to book over the same New Year dates and they either booked and moved sites or booked at other campgrounds. Frankly there is not a lot we can do when we tell you we don't have a site available and you don't believe us.

Neat tidy cabin that had all amenities that we needed. We arrived late and Shelly was very accommodating, lights and electric blankets turned on. Great weather made for a great weekend. Thank you for lovely stay 🙂

Spent one night in a cabin here and loved it. We were just passing through but are keen to come back and stay for a few days. The cabin was really nice and had everything we needed and the staff looked after us with milk in the fridge and the heater on before we arrived. Thanks for having us!

A group of friends and I stayed at the cabins and had a super time. We were embarking on a world record attempt cycling cape egmont to east cape non stop. The location for the night before our start was fab. The location of the camp is amazing with the proximity to the beach a real treat. The staff are so friendly and the accomodation modern and so clean. We all had a super stay. All of us said we would love to stay again and explore more from this great spot. Lots of handy shops and places to eat near by too and super close to all the places you want to see such as cape egmont, the mountain and surrounding towns.
