My friends and I stayed here for a wedding in late June 2018 and were treated to such a wonderful experience! We booked the Garden Suite and it was perfect. Or should I say, Lynne the innkeeper was perfect! We arrived really late (due to flight delays) and Lynne was great about communicating with us beforehand, accommodating our schedule (and requests) and arranging everything for us exactly as she described. It was like being over at your favorite aunt's house or something. The house is really charming (it's 300+ years old so there are some cool architectural features you don't see in modern houses), the beds were really comfortable, and Lynne really went out of her way to make us all feel so welcomed. And, she treated us to amazing homemade breakfasts to boot! Compared to other options in the area, I think you get so much more bang for your buck at the Samuel Fitch House, plus it's so unique -- definitely more fun than staying in your run of the mill hotel. We felt really lucky to have been able to stay here, and since I made the reservation, I gained some major travel "cred" in the eyes of my friends! Needless to say, I highly recommend Samuel Fitch House!

I recently stayed at the Samuel-Fitch House with two friends while on a literary retreat to Concord, Massachusetts. I was drawn to this property because of its proximity to Concord, and it's amazing history: in the room where my friends and I wrote and sipped tea each evening, minutemen met to plan what they would do when the Regulars arrived from England. Right below where we ate an amazing breakfast each morning, there's a secret hiding place that served as part of the Underground Railroad. Everything about the 300-year-old home felt authentic and inspiring. We especially loved the owner, Lynn, who grew up in the house, and gives all her guests the "10-cent tour" which I can assure you is worth much more. Her hospitality was especially amazing given she was hosting her daughter's wedding at the home the very next day.

Spent two nights at the Samuel Fitch, a Thursday and Friday, and could not have had a better experience. The location was perfect - about forty minutes outside of Boston, adjacent to the Nashoba Valley ski park, fifteen minutes to the Minuteman Historic site in Concord. The cottage was spacious yet cozy, perfect for a quick getaway or longer stay. Lynne was a very pleasant and humorous hostess, entertaining and a great cook, as well as considerate and accommodating. Would definitely return for another stay!

I highly recommend this beautiful 18th century B&B. The hostess, Lynne, is warm and welcoming and a veritable font of information about this saltbox house, it's history, the families that lived there over the centuries, and the region. A fifteen minute drive to Concord, it's also centrally located in this historic area. Oh, and breakfasts on both mornings were made to order, delicious and healthy. I hope to come back one day.

Ups:

+ Inkeeper was accommodating to our unusual schedule and other needs.

+ Our room and the house in general was clean and tidy.

+ The bed & pillows were particularly comfortable.

+ Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared to-order.

+ Towels were plush and amply supplied & linens were clean and comfy.

+ Our room (Fitch Suite) was overall very cozy and quiet.

Downs:

- In this antique house, there were some floor nails which had come loose and were barefoot hazards.

- The kitchen radio was on a lot of the time, even when nobody was in the kitchen. This spoiled some of the quiet enjoyment of our space. With our suite door closed, this was not a problem, but over breakfast in the common area or other times our door was open, it felt like an intrusion.

- The hostess was overly chatty about personal topics. Many times I felt like it was "too much information" -- though, in her defense, never did I actually ask her to stop so I cannot say she ignored my request. Ideally, she would have noticed I was politely not engaging and would have adjusted her behavior accordingly. My companion did not share my sensitivity on this topic and thought the chattyness was fine.

- It was a cool day when we arrived and the house had been left wide open to get some fresh spring air. While I am definitely in favor of fresh air, I am opposed to coming in to my accommodations and finding that I must keep my jacket on while indoors! The innkeeper did light a fire to warm us back up and the heat in the room was comfortable after things were closed. Still, I was put off by having to wear my jacket indoors immediately upon arrival.

- A very minor thing: the woven trash basket had no bag or liner -- and was thus unsuitable to certain kinds of trash. I did not ask for a bag when I discovered this, since I had a plastic grocery bag I could use.

Overall, we had a pleasant and comfortable experience. I cannot give it five stars because of the negatives, above, but all of them together only take it down to 4 out of 5 for me.

I was looking for a special place for my entire family to stay while attending my daughters graduation in Boston. The Samuel Fitch house could not have been more perfect. Lynne did everything possible and more to make our stay like guests in a palace. All the little extras I asked for were included with a smile. Thank you Lynne for making our weekend memorable. We will be back :)

I am staying just the one night, and i am loving the stay!

Such a beautiful home on a relatively less busy street and all amenities are available. It is extremely close to my work and so much better than living in conventional hotels.

Lynne is very polite, kind abd accomodating. Takes good care of her guests.

The towels, bathroom, linens are clean.

Since it is a 300 year old house and has a lot of history asociated with it, all furniture and fittings have that antique look and feel.

I am reminded of my stays at my grandparents'.

Will surely come back on my future visits.

Thanks Lynne!

My wife and I rented out the entire house prior to our small Groton wedding, and the space was perfect for housing our families. There was plenty of space in the common areas for the 18 of us to hang out (even those who were staying elsewhere), dine together outside, and a lovely grassy front and backyard. Our family members kept commenting on how relaxed they felt and how interesting (with all the nooks and history) and the loveliness of the space. Lynn provided delicious breakfasts that were sensitive to one of our family member's allergies, and was very flexible with requests during our stay. The suite side of the house was a great retreat and space to get ready for our wedding. Overall we couldn't have been happier!

An overnight stay that was to be with my husband(who got sick) turned into a solo trip. Instead of feeling bad about my situation, I was welcomed by Lynne and another guest and family to a wonderful dinner out and a fabulous breakfast in the morning before I was on my way to my next destination.
It felt as though I had known Lynne for years! I hope to return again and spend more time getting to know the historic area.

I just spent one week at the Samuel Fitch House in Westford with my son (21y) and my daughter (18y). We truly enjoyed Lynne's warm hospitality and all her efforts to make our stay delightful. Do not hesitate to joint Lynne for a great morning walk around Nashoba! This beautiful historic B&B is really unique and Lynne gave us a great tour of the property, providing details about the successive owners of the place. I stayed in the Fitch suite while my children stayed in the charming garden suite. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy again Lynne’s fabulous breakfasts! The Fitch House is ideally located: close to historic Concord and Lexington, with an easy access to Boston and less than an hour away from lovely Rockport and Crane Beach; not to mention other places to visit like Old Sturbridge Village or Plymouth Plantation.
Our stay in Westford was definitely a gem in our 2012 vacation time and I truly recommend the Samuel Fitch House to any traveler, for a couple of nights as well as for a longer stay.

"We liked the double room on the ground floor because of the charm and the opportunity to use the sitting area and covered porch. The twin room would be good for families. The Carriage House is huge (we were given a tour and enjoyed seeing all of the rooms)."
