Nestled in a quiet location ideal for business travelers, Embassy Suites By Hilton Boston Waltham is lauded for its tranquil yet accessible setting. Guests revel in the hotel's jazz-infused bar atmosphere and admire its attractive lobby and decorous, spacious rooms.
While the amenities, including a variety of breakfast choices and amiable service, are generally well-received, some visitors point out room for improvement in certain areas like room cleanliness and decor. Although the staff's professionalism and responsiveness are frequently commended, cleanliness lapses, particularly around the pool, and extra fees for parking and drinks have led some to question the hotel's overall value.

We would have enjoyed staying longer. Very nice hotel, extremely clean, which is most important. Pleasant front desk staff. Our bedroom was separated from the sitting area by a short hallway, that had the mini fridge, microwave, sink, coffee pot and entrance to the bathroom. Both the bedroom and sitting area each had a tv, very convenient so you don't disturb someone sleeping. Spacious, well decorated, comfortable bed and linens. Plenty of hot water and pressure. Other than hearing doors close to other rooms, (because people have lost the common sense that noise carries in hallways), we didn't hear any other guests. Shopping and restaurants close by.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Rooms were clean, but only had two tiny trash cans. When staying for 4-7 days (and no regular room cleaning during your stay) there is a need for more / larger trash cans in room and / or near elevators. Every Embassy Suites I have stayed at has had alcoholic beverages included in the managers reception, except this one.
Managers reception consisted of carrots, celery, goldfish and soda. No draft beer available at bar, although there was a set of taps with beer handles….if you don’t have draft beer, take those handles off.
For the amount of people at the hotel, the breakfast are was too small and was usually short on utensils, both to eat with and serving (such as removing waffle from waffle iron).
Only 1 washing machine was working in laundry area. Speed Queen machines were there, but only coin operated. Not usually a problem, however no coin machine and front desk did not have any quarters (had to call maintenance to empty the machines to make change.
Pool was closed for renovations (mentioned during booking) but no work was seen being done to get it back up and functioning. Fitness room has extremely low ceilings; so low you cannot even do jumping jacks.

Thank you for your review. We are so very sorry to hear that your expectations were not exceeded. Guest Satisfaction is our highest priority here. We will be addressing the issues encountered with our department heads for their immediate attention, we do have draft beer at the bar now, but as to serving alcoholic beverages the state law prohibits happy hour service of alcoholic beverages. We are under new management, and I can assure you we will be reviewing your feedback immediately. Thanks for taking the time to let us know how you feel. We appreciate customers who let us know when things are not right so that we can please our guests.

Paying $15 per night for parking and $12 per day for Wi-Fi is simply unreasonable. Additionally, I was unable to adjust the AC in my room, which was set at 69 degrees during winter. This made our nights quite uncomfortable, particularly for my young children (ages 1, 4, and 7). Despite these issues, the highlight of our stay was the exceptional service provided by Hilary at the front desk. She addressed all our concerns with grace and efficiency, even during the busiest moments. Thank you, Hilary, for your outstanding hospitality! A special mention also goes to the hotel's breakfast—it was absolutely delicious!

Waltham is an easy 15 minute drive to Cambridge on Highway 2, so you get close proximity for a much lower price. Food options right near the hotel are limited though. But it’s a decent area at least. The hotel is what you’d expect, although a 4-day family reunion did create lots more traffic. That’s not the hotel’s fault. My wife’s complaint was that after several calls, the staff did not bring extra towels and toilet paper. Not a deal breaker for me on that. What is didn’t like was paying $15/night to park in an area where clearly no non-guests would park. There’s nothing else there! Hotel quality was decent and as expected. Same for breakfast.

We only stayed one night and it likely won’t be somewhere we stay again.
My husband and I are venturing through New England for a few days on a rare trip with no kids. I’m thankful they weren’t with us because of how dirty the hotel is.
The first thing you notice about the hotel is that it’s in need of a major update. The paint on the outside of the building is even peeling off.
We were on the 5th floor. You can hear the music playing in the halls from below but not in your room although we could hear our noisy neighbors through the connecting door.
The bathroom was dirty. It clearly had not been cleaned between guests. The floors were filthy and had shoe marks everywhere. And the amount of hair in there was absurd. Sure, a stray hair or maybe even two could get missed easily. But there were tiny hairs everywhere — on the floor, the toilet and the sink. The shower had multiple long hairs.
I was grateful that we had brought our own disinfectant spray and wipes b cause they were definitely needed.
It didn’t seem as if the room was vacuumed and it’s slightly questionable whether the bedding was clean.
Upon checkout, I mentioned to the staff that the room was quite dirty. I started to go into detail but that became unnecessary as she quickly acknowledged it and said she would comp the room. While I’m glad they did so, that wasn’t my intent with letting them know. I wanted them to be aware so they could address it.
When I came to write a review, the very first thing I saw was a review that just posted today also noting it was dirty. Hopefully they see the trend and correct it. Being outdated is one thing. Being unclean is unacceptable.
I will say the highlight was the chef who made omelets to order. He was friendly and did a great job on the omelet.

I just returned from a weekend stay at your Waltham Embassy Suites and I am disgusted. Upon checking into the room I went to put some water into our room refrigerator only to find a partially eaten apple! I immediately called the front lobby and was told they were "sorry" and "doing the best they can". Is this the best your Hotel can do in COVID times?
I asked what they planned to do and was then told to throw the apple out. So now I am cleaning and disinfecting my own refrigerator at your hotel? I asked that someone come up to the room and remove the half eaten rotted apple ASAP. I also asked for additional towels- the room had 2 bath towels, one of which had what looked to be a blood stain on it, so I asked for another as well as a washcloth and hand towel for the bathrooms. I was told things are limited in the hotel and they would try. Needless to say I never received the towels and the rotting apple was still sitting in the trash can of the room when I checked out as neither of these issues were ever addressed by the hotel.
As if things couldn't get worse, I was watching the NCAA Men's final four at the hotel bar when the manager came through and turned it off because there were kids being noisy in the hotel. She blamed the group of us watching the game. When we tried to let her know that the kids making noise were not out kids we were told it was too bad and she can do whatever she wants.
So this manager cared enough to ruin the night for a few basketball fans but not to remove a rotted apple and possibly blood stained towel from my room for two days.
I tried reaching out to both the hotel manager and General Manager but received generic cookie cutter responses and nobody took the time to actually speak with me. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

Room was booked for 4 people. It smelled like mold and bbq sauce, there was only 2 towels, no hand towels no washcloths. I had to go down to the front desk and ask for towels and waited 15 mins for the front staff member to go into the laundry room and get them. Around 5:30 a.m., the fire alarm started going off. I went out to the hallway to see if there really was an emergency and told my parents and fiance to get dressed in case there was. Not one staff member was to be found. Other people staying at the hotel were all standing outside their rooms. Small children were crying and dogs barking. Elderly couples were struggling to get down the stairs. One man shouted to shut that thing off and told others that the fire alarm had gone off almost every night that week he was staying. The couple staying next to my room also told me they had read the alarm randomly goes off. Some people left to go outside and get in their cars. There was still no staff members to be found and after 20 minutes, the fire department came and turned off the alarm. During breakfast that morning, the alarm went out again. Speaking of breakfast, you might as well leave and go find a Denny's or local diner. They had 1 cook making omelets for a line of 20 people at a time. I waited in line for an omelet for 30 mins and ended up finding his beard hair in the omelet which ruined the rest of the mediocre meal. The staff refilling the breakfast barely spoke English if you asked them to fix the juice machine or for plates, as they were putting out paper plates but when you asked if they were going to refill the buffet, they spoke perfect English and said no because breakfast stopped being served at 10 and this was 9:30 and many people were still coming in with kids for breakfast. With the amount of money spent to stay there for 2 nights and this being a Hilton, I expected more out of my stay. We also had to pay $15 per car, per day to park which is just ridiculous. The hotel decor was the only nice thing about this place and I would never stay here nor recommend anyone to stay here ever. If you want to be woken up at all hours of the night by a false fire alarm, this is the place for you.

We arrived early for check-in, around 11:30 AM after traveling overnight. We tried to call ahead but the phone remained unanswered for many rings and several calls. Understanding that an early check-in may not be readily available, we arrived at the hotel and waited for several minutes to be acknowledged by desk staff. They explained that they had no available rooms, and that we would have a room available by 1 PM. They put us on a 'priority' list, and we were second on that list for a call as soon as the room was ready. She was doing her best in a clearly overwhelmed and understaffed environment. We left to grab lunch and returned (without having received a call) at 1:30 PM to be told that no rooms were ready, and that no, zero, rooms had yet been cleaned and made available despite being 30 minutes after the time we were promised a room. After asking to speak with the manager on duty, we were told they were in a meeting and couldn't be disturbed. After several more minutes, a manager emerged to tell me that check-in was at 4 PM, and basically, tough luck. After some persistence on my part, she agreed to actually call Housekeeping to see if there was an issue since no rooms had been made available since 11:30 AM. Finally after 2 PM we were given a room. The room smelled musty, was missing linens for the fold out and a full complement of towels. As we headed out for the evening to see a baseball game, we asked for the additional linens and towels to be delivered while we were gone. Only the linens made it up to our room, which we only discovered when trying to shower the next morning without bath towels. Breakfast was packed with guests, inadequate restocking of nearly every menu item, table service, juice and other beverages. Just an unsanitary disaster. We chose not to even address the room smell or breakfast issues since our service experience had been so disappointing throughout the stay.

Not up to Hilton standards. We have stayed here before and it was fine—pretty much what you expect for an embassy suites. This time was really different, and we won’t stay here again.
To start, we arrived late and there was no one at the desk to check us in. After waiting for a while I just used the digital key but there was no way to get a parking pass. I was, naturally, still charged for parking.
When I went to shower in the morning, the shampoo container was empty. I didn’t discover this until I was already in the shower of course. There was also hair on the conditioner container and only two towels despite my listing 3 people on my reservation.
I called down to the desk after my half-shower and there wasn’t even an apology. The clerk just casually said she’d have some shampoo and towels sent up. I waited a while and then gave up because I had to get on with my day. I returned that evening to find there was still no shampoo and no towels. My son also discovered curse words and graffiti on the wall. I let the desk know again on our way out to dinner and there was finally shampoo and towels when we returned that evening. They just really didn’t seem to care.
I never even received bottles of water, despite being a diamond member, because they “were out of water”, and there are no glasses in the room.
For a two day stay without the ability to shower properly for one of them, it was pretty pricey and very lackluster. They clearly need new staff. The only highlight was the excellent cook making omelets.
