Many guests at Encore Boston Harbor compliment the hotel's luxurious amenities and the high-tech, spacious rooms with impressive views, while the majestic ambiance with its modern decor also earns rave reviews. Some travelers, however, find the hotel's pricing steep and have encountered issues with service inconsistency and cleanliness. While the location is deemed convenient for airport access and city visits, critiques have been directed at its industrial surroundings.

Friends took us to Encore recently. Besides the gambling and dining experiences, the rooms at Encore are a treat not to be missed. The rooms are large and comfortable, complete with an iPad that helps you control the lights, curtains and tv and gives you information about the restaurants. The large bathroom, complete with double sinks, soaking tub and walk in shower is an oasis. I would have been content to spend most of my time relaxing in the relaxing atmosphere of the room. But of course there is the gaming floor with a wide variety of table games and slots. Encore has several spots to eat. We had a terrific dinner at Rare. The only downside to Encore is that the dining choices are rather pricey but for a special getaway I would recommend Encore..

I stayed at the Encore Resort for a night over Christmas vacation with a friend and had an amazing time. The Hotel & Casino are really nice and would highly recommend it for a day trip or an overnight.

Some thoughts on my experience:

Parking: I parked at the self-parking garage at the casino but they do offer valet as well. There were plenty of spots and more importantly self-parking was free! The elevators take you right up to the main floor. Really easy with no issues at all!

Casino: The Encore Casino floor is huge with tons of slots and tables. Service was great with no shortage of drinks offered.

Guest Rooms: The guest rooms are amazing. I booked a standard guest room with 2 double bed – Non Harbor View Room. I was really impressed. The rooms are absolutely huge. 2 double beds with floor to ceiling windows. The bathrooms have a nice bathtub, separate shower stall, TV, 2 double sinks and a separate room for the toilet. Lights, TV and temperature are all controlled by an ipad on the night stand or by Alexa. Very impressive!

Restaurants: This is the one area I would say they can improve on. They have a variety of fine dining restaurants but are lacking in casual type restaurants where you can get a good meal but not spend a ton of money. We did eat at the following restaurants which we enjoyed.

Dinner Buffet: $50.00 per person (not including alcoholic drinks) with a good selection of cuisine options. They definitely need to add a salad bar!

Waterfront: Small bar/restaurant that offers a selection of appetizers, small bites, craft beers, cocktails and of course TVs. Appetizers and drinks were great! Definitely would recommend it while watching a game. Parmesan Dip was delicious!

Encore definitely needs some additional entertainment. Would be great if they could add a concert venue or a spot where bands could perform. Would be an additional draw to get people to return.

We finally had an opportunity to spend a night at Encore. The facility was done in Las Vegas style, although with a slightly smaller layout. The facility was tastefully designed, employees congenial and anxious to provide support. The rooms are comfortable and feature all wireless room controls as well as wireless access to hotel amenities. The casino was typical of a premier Vegas facility. Restaurants appeared to offer a very nice selection of dining alternatives that range in price as well as sophistication. Shopping was somewhat limited compared to their wester counterparts. All in all, for an eastern casino, this is a nice place to visit.

The bed was so comfortable I want to buy one. Everything about the be hotel was high class & fancy. It was definitely overpriced, but worth it in the end. The curtains opened automatically upon entering the room, and the iPad controlling the lights and everything else in the room was nice. The lights even had “dim model and bathroom night lights. The bathroom was extremely nice, with the tub and big shower. We had the king harbor view room.

Things continue to get progressively worse for patrons at Encore where the pandemic seems to have caused management to tighten up machines to recover lost revenues as quickly as possible. So if you think it was hard to break even before their covid closure, you ain't seen nothing. There are other problems besides lopsided odds and stingy management. Sanitation wipes are not well placed, making it difficult to wipe down a machine before you play it. Bring your own or gloves. The casino now has restricted hours from 9 am to 9 pm daily and this created a 40-minute wait to exit the parking deck, causing lots of horn honking and stress from unhappy gamers. What used to be a pleasant diversion in my retirement, has turned so negative and petty, I do not plan to return....ever. The place is beautiful, but increasingly lacking in excitement. In a year of regular patronage with hours and hours of play, I have only seen one jackpot light flashing. They lure you in with trinkets you would normally have no interest in and it pays big dividends for them. So you now have a $20 turkey voucher, but you can brag this Thanksgiving, it really cost you $500. While planning for more social distancing, consider the dangers of visitng Encore in your calculation and stay home. Its cheaper and lots safer.

Thank you CJMMcCLain for your recent response and taking the time to review your concerns. We are disappointed to read of your concerns surrounding gaming odds as well as cleanliness of the facility. The extensive amount of hand sanitizers and wipes have not decreased since reopening and we continue to have our Public Area Department work diligently to sanitize all areas on a frequent rotation, highlighting our casino space. If you should wish to discuss your most recent experience to Encore in further conversation please reach out to us directly at guest.comments@encorebostonharbor.com with your contact details. Thank you. Encore Boston Harbor Guest Relations

Not often does a check-in become noteworthy. Upon checking into the Encore Boston Harbor roughly one week ago, a gentleman by the name Luis went above and beyond what is normally expected at even the most luxurious of hotels, making my guest and me feel as though we were the most important guests in the hotel. Excellent service. I will seek this hotel in particular for future visits, thank you Luis. Housekeeping also should receive some recognition as the overall condition of the room was stunning. For example, the large pillows on the bed had been perfectly flattened so as to not leave even the smallest of creases, making the room feel as though it had never been stayed in. Superb.

This week my wife and I had the opportunity to spend two nights at Encore Boston Harbor. We had reserved two nights in a Premium KIng Room but we were upgraded to a Signature Suite because of a minor glitch during check-in. The Suite was fantastic and the service from everyone including the reception area (David), bellman (Mel), fitness trainer (Richard), and casino staff was first class. During our stay I lost my iphone in the casino. Someone at the casino found it and wanted me to pay them to get it back. I contacted security from my room and within 30 minutes, after giving my phone number to a security officer, there was a security person at my door with my lost phone. Great job, security. To say the least the Encore has a very safe and comfortable environment. The Encore has become our "go to" hotel (resort) from now on when visiting Boston.

I recently spent a night here and was beyond impressed. Check in started with a greeting from a host and a bottle of water while I waited. Once I opened the door to my "standard" room, I was amazed! Large windows over looking Boston Harbor. Huge bed, couch ,table and nigh stand. There is an Alexa Echo in the room that operates everything from lights to TV to thermostat! There is an IPAD that controls the Thermostat, the curtains, the lights, the TV, room service and more!
I ventured to the casino where there were many open table games and slots throughout. The atmosphere is beautiful. The only thing I found disappointing was the table minimums. Although there were 1 or 2 tables that were $15 minimums, mst were $25 and higher. I was not able to play on a table for this visit but did have some fun at the slots. Worth a visit!

My wife was able to get a comp room since she puts more money in the slots than I do. The offer was a copm room any Sunday or Thursday in February. My first choose was Valentine's Day but it was all booked so we choose Super Bowl Sunday.
We checked in just after 4 o'clock in Sunday and got a nice upgrade. It was hard to see the view because of the snow storm so we went to the casino to play some slot machines before kickoff. We grabbed some food to go from one of the vendors in the casino and headed back to the room. We were able to tilt the television so that you could watch the game from the bed. The bed was good size and extremely comfortable.
The room had an ipad that allowed you to control just about everything from the bed. The bathroom was massive with a separate shower, tub, vanity and toilet with its own door for privacy.
When we awoke in the morning we were greated by the magnificent view of Boston Harbor and the surrounding city just after a snowfall. Overall, we were impressed with the staff and blown away by the room. Even though we had not been winning much in the casino, it was a nice perk of being a Wynn Rewards member. I'd like to say that I would return to the hotel for a stay but it is a bit pricey for me. However, if we get a chance at a reduced rate or even another comp room, we would go back.

Room: Rooms are very new with functional technology such as Alexa enabled TV/Music/Lights and motorized blinds. Spacious King rooms with very good full size windows.

Location: The main reason this is a 4/5 rather than a 5/5. Location is pretty terrible unless you plan to go from the airport to the hotel and stay there. Encore's located in what looks like a former industrial site and the surroundings are mostly industrial. If you want to go out to any places in Boston itself, you're in for a costly cab or uber.

Amenities: It's a beautiful hotel with a decent Spa and several restaurants. Food though is overpriced and not as good as in Vegas, despite being priced near Vegas levels. Also for the club they have, Vegas level cover prices - 40-50$ for no name DJs.

Overall it works if you want to hangout somewhere fancy but stay local, most locals seem to dress up to go to Encore.

The parking's free but that's IT, everything else they'll nickle and dime you for. Somehow they charge double what Vegas charges for receiving packages.

Any suggestion about a taxi to Fenway or is there a shuttle available for hotel guests
Answer from Julesss3E
Manchester, Connecticut44 contributions
I don’t believe they offer a shuttle but I did notice plenty of taxis waiting outside. Uber would work great as well! We drove into Boston so we drove from Encore to the Prudential center to park for the game, then walked from there. ** No matter what you pick make sure to give yourself plenty of time before the game! We wanted to be there an hour early and made it just in time for first pitch. Traffic on the gps showed only a 20 minute drive, it turned out to be a 45 minute drive with traffic. Have fun!

No I don’t believe there are mini fridges. I know our king bed water front room did not. There Are espresso coffee machines with pods, creamers, sugars, mugs, or to go cups in the room though. You’ll find the coffee maker “fix in’s” in the drawer closest to the machine.

We booked a Sun-Wed stay for a less crowded experience. The rooms, elevators, lobby and casino are very spacious. The Garden Cafe (breakfast) is on one level and on floor two near an elevator. The Mystique Restaurant has a few steps in the rear but there is seating near the entranceway. The rooms are very quiet and immaculate. We think you’ll be very happy with the accommodations at Encore Boston Harbor. The staff is AMAZING. Just let them know of any requirements you’ll need.

Not really a place for family. While they have Shake Shake & Dunkin, they are inside casino and kids are not allowed at all in there. I tried taking my 18 yr old in for Dunkin and they wouldn’t let her. I’d skip this place if I were traveling to Boston with kids.
