Just stayed two nights at the Christopher and had a great experience! The breakfast is continental with a mix of healthy and sweet treats. I had boiled eggs and chia seed pudding with coconut milk most mornings. They also had the option for hot and iced coffee which was an unexpected touch. I am also giving this 5 stars because of the friendly and helpful staff plus its convenient location to downtown.

The room was well-appointed and a nice size for MV. We had a balcony facing the back which we enjoyed but the fan did not work so it did get hot sitting out there in the evening.

While I'm giving this hotel 5 stars, there are a few things to mention. I was on the 2nd floor and the footsteps/noise above us were noticeable (which I was almost expecting since it's an older historical home) and our AC did not work well in our room. The other thing to mention is the common outdoor space is a little weathered. We thought we would hang outside but found it a bit tight and untidy.

Overall, a 5-star experience but would try to get a room on the top floor for my next stay at the Christopher!

We had a family trip and stayed at the Christopher. Honestly this was the highlight of the trip from the amazing breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients with a playlist to the incredibly clean rooms and super soft bedding. Hot cookies were available every afternoon. Julie and Marla made you feel like you were a part of their family and wanted your stay to be the best possible. You walk in and immediate feel at home. We will stay there again!!!

You are really missing out if you travel to Martha's Vineyard and don't stay at the Christopher. An amazing boutique hotel right in downtown Edgartown with stylish but quaint rooms (great interior design) AND their customer service is impeccable! They make everyone staying feel special and cared for and they are all about FUN! Marla is amazing gives great advise on getting around the island and providing a map of what to see. They have a Fall N Fun package going on when I stayed in November and it was a really great deal (Flight at Bad Martha's Brewery, Cheese tasting upon arrival from Grey Barn Farm, handcrafted coasters from Chilmark Pottery, a picnic for two (pick our your own goodies) from Morning Glory Farm, two cups of chowder from 19 Raw PLUS you can add on a Jeep rental for your entire stay.
The staff are just so sweet, welcoming and knowledgeable (shoutout to Marla!). My husband and I went for my birthday and we are ready to go again like next week!

We were in Room 16. Avoid this room. It was directly next to reception. With a view of … a fence. And no housekeeping! At breakfast, it felt like we were waking up in Grand Central Station. The reception desk asked us how everything was, in a room full of people having breakfast, so I told her. She apologized and said she would look into upgrading us to a suite or taking something off the price of the room. (Including tax, the room was almost $400, so it was totally overpriced, for what we got). Then, we got neither. They offered to move us to a room next door, but that room was also next to the breakfast room, so it would hardly have been an improvement. Nothing was taken off our bill. When we came back from a day of cycling, we were shocked to find the bed had not even been made. I was told, only then, that housekeeping had to be “requested.” Nobody told us this when we checked in. We have been traveling now for three weeks and no other hotel has told us housekeeping is only at guest request. Covid is pretty much over, and if anything, a guest can request no housekeeping, not the other way around. Hotel is well located, and looks pretty on the outside, but that’s pretty much it. Very disappointed.

We stayed here in July and it took me this long to write a review. I have never stayed in a hotel room that was as awful as room 16! (And I’ve traveled A LOT). This room is literally in the lobby, When you check in, to your immediate right is the room ( as in put your arm out and you’re touching the door) They serve breakfast in the lobby in the morning and it’s as if they are serving in your room. Absolutely no privacy! I can not believe this is even a room! Spoke to the manager and they did nothing.

Breakfast bags to go complete with a menu of inspirational songs to download, warm freshly baked cookies in the afternoon, a perfect patio lined with comfortable sofas and a fire pit, and perhaps the most comfortable bed (in room #10 - ask for it!) I have ever slept in are but four of the secret delights I found at the Christopher.

Marla and Julie attended to our every need. They provided a detailed map with handwritten comments to ensure that we enjoyed most everything Martha's Vineyard had to offer. And were there to help us in anyway that they could.

The location itself is on historic Waters Street, Edgartown which is perfectly located near restaurants and the water. It was a perfect B&B which made our trip so very memorable. When we go back, we know where we will stay!

For the record, I am not a paid reviewer, nor a family member, just a BIG FAN. Thank you Marla and Julie for a great family getaway weekend.

We stayed here 3 nights with another couple. We had a room on the 2nd floor and they their room was on the 3rd floor.
The hotel location is ideal… literally steps from the best Edgartown has to offer tourists IMO. The location was a 2 minute walk from the Edgartown ferry!
The hotel is beautiful both on the exterior with its traditional charm to the more modern interior.
Our king sized room was a tad tight, would have loved just a little more space….our friends room was larger and same price. So maybe request the larger space sine the rooms are all different set ups. The AC was cold, the shower hot and room was quiet and v dry clean. We slept well- comfy bed and bedding.
We utilized the beach towels, chairs and beach umbrellas provided by the hotel. It was really helpful to not have to find those elsewhere. There is a bike shop next door to rent bikes. Easy
The morning breakfast was good- small selection of items each morning.
We loved our stay here and would stay again.
Staff nice/ helpful

Would highly recommend The Christopher to anyone looking for an excellent place to stay on the Vineyard.
This was our first time to MV and staying at the Christopher made it a very memorable trip.

From the moment you arrive, Marla, Ally and the team make you feel extremely welcome, offer excellent guidance and suggestions on where to go and what to do. It’s rare to experience the level of hospitality they offer here, consistently, every day.

We stayed for 10 days in room #15 (with balcony and 2 comfty lounge chairs) and will definitely be back.

The hotel is centrally located in Edgartown and walking distance to all the restaurants, shops and harbor and is beautiful inside. The rooms have a colorful and playful design and look exactly like the pictures online.

Marla bakes cookies each afternoon and is available throughout the day to help with anything you need - helping to book dinners, arrange a Jeep rental for the day or offer last minute suggestions on where to go for a quick bite.

We can’t say enough about our first visit to the Vineyard and are looking forward to our next stay with Marla and Ally at the Christopher!

Great location, rooms are extremely clean with a fresh scent, individual AC units in each room, friendly staff are available to assist and answer any questions, delicious light breakfast with organic products, free sun chairs and beach towels, convenient bike parking. Room 11 has a balcony where you can enjoy the hotel’s delicious fresh brewed coffee, see a bit of the harbor, and feel the lovely ocean breeze. It is on the top floor where there is no noise.

A gorgeous boutique hotel in the heart of Edgartown. Just steps to fabulous dining and shopping. The decor was lovely and fresh. Amidst the pandemic they did a great job making their guests feel safe; masks, no contact and the breakfast was a too go bag filled with breakfast goodies and a traveler of coffee. The hospitality was unbeatable, would absolutely return for another visit.
