We paid double to come here instead of our normal campground at another beach. We were placed in a new area for primitive tent sites. There was ZERO shade, no trees, zilch. There was no enforcement of quiet time as people were carrying on well into the early morning hours. The showers/bathrooms were clean but the constant pushing of the button to keep the shower running was a huge pain. This is not the "norm" at other campgrounds as this was the first time I've ever experienced this. The water park was a huge selling point for us, but unfortunately it was crowded and really didn't have much. We spent most of our time in the pool or off-grounds entirely. There was seemingly no staff enforcing golf cart rules. I saw several children erratically driving them around. The golf carts also seem to have free reign with little regard to people walking or driving. The 4th of july parade of golf carts was cute though! The arcade needs a LOT of help. I think there was a 1:1 ratio of working to non-working machines. I didn't see any staff sanitizing the machines after use either despite the current pandemic. The Lazy River Saloon had GREAT prices and GREAT food but the staff seemed incredibly unorganized and the wait was a bit long despite their seeming lack of business while we were waiting. The fishing pier was nice but also gets crowded. It did offer a picturesque view though. I don't think I'd come back here but it was a nice one-time trip.

We had a blast enjoying all the things the campground has to offer. You’re going to need lots of time to get it all in, especially if you love the beach. Our spot was in a great location!
A couple of things that hopefully will get fixed. The western town experience is such a great added benefit, but with new owners, it’s clear they’re still transitioning. The train was not working and many of the locations inside the park were not in operation. The shows were fun, especially the trick riders. The shows could use a little beefing up and it would be great to see the gold nugget saloon stage utilized in some way outside of the previous can can show. The western experience is currently to free, but I hope the value will rise in the future. We would also loved to have seen the high ropes in action.
We went to rent a golf cart when we arrived. We weee told before making our request to the gentleman who was working that if we wanted one the weekend was shot. It was an abrupt response to us asking where the real tal desk was. We were looking for a single day during our stay for renting. There were always golf carts parked and ready but apparently not available to rent. It left a bad taste in our mouth and we did but attempt again.
The water park is great, but we had many concerns over the lifeguards who often were not in their spots nor looking at the water. Some were talking with other employees or left their area to chat. In the worst case, a staff member who apparently was the manager for that day took a beer offered by a floating guest and took it to the life guard who requested it. It was returned after a while. I would hate for anything to happen and those staff members be liable or worse guests come to some harm due to negligence.
The hours are wonky. While the mini golf says open till 10 on all signs, we arrived to find that they close to guests at 9. The water park is open till 6 but they start to shut off the attractions at 5:30. I understand staff want to end when guests leave, but the hours posted need to reflect that.
Again, we had a blast and I’m sure these are all things that might be happening after many businesses are struggling to get staffing, the new ownership updating and adjusting, and general issues that are on the list.

So I get that Corona is making everyday stuff impossible. That being said, most of the park is open, just some things are closed off, arcade only has half of its games running to enforce social distancing. So I get that not everything is operating as normal.
The campground is busy, loud and the layout forces a choke point for traffic right by a good portion of the campground. We thought it would be easy to have a spot near the road to make it easier for our kids to locate our camper. We stayed in G-01. 80% of the traffic in that campground passes that spot. Don’t stay in E through H left than 6, the higher the number the better you’ll be. Our friends had a water front site and it was nice. The people next to them not so nice. The spots are on top of each other and they are all laid out at 90 degree angles. Makes it near impossible to pull in correctly. No adherence to quiet hours, both nights we were there parties going till after 1am.
The pool/water park is nice but shade is at a premium so get there early to stake out your claim lazy river is nice but lifeguards can be a little over zealous. If your getting food or drinks there, it’ll cost you and you’re gonna wait. They allow you to bring in coolers so bring your own food and drinks.
Cell service is almost non existent to all but Verizon customers(and slow for them). WiFi is advertised but you can’t get a signal.
Overall, it’s a neat experience, most of the staff try to make you feel like your at a resort. Those that don’t, hurt the brand and really drag down the curve. If you have little kids they would probably have a blast. My youngest had a good time, my teenager not so much- cell/WiFi service.

For the past 13 years our group of all adult family and friends have been booking 2 cabins for bikeweek. This year the prices for 3 nights were more then doubled since sun community has purchased frontier town. In yeats past the campground was packed! All the cabins were booked! I noticed this year the place was near empty and so were the cabins. Corporate greed i guess... So during our stay we rented 2 six seater golf carts. When a few of us needed to go to the bathhouse around 11:30 pm to use the restrooms. We were stopped by security right in front of the restroom. Then 4 more security personnel on carts showed up and surounded us on our cart. They were screaming at us and said they would confiscate our carts and remove us from the campground! Just because we had our golfcart out past 11:00 pm. They acted like a geriatric swat team and treated us like we were 5yo criminals!!! It was crazy. So we didnt get to use the restroom. Was escorted back to our cabin where security pretty much sat accross from our cabin for a couple hours watching us! Never have i experience something like this. We were a respectful group not causing any issues at all. I dont get it. This is the last time frontier town will see our group.

Great place to camp with kids, good shows that are going daily, and hourly from noon to 7pm, it can be hard to find the shows so I recommend asking, since each show is at a different location on the property. The water park was nice, had slides, lazy river, splash pad and small pool area for kids. The property was nice and clean, workers driving around continuously to keep an eye on things which was great. The bathrooms are not bad, in the main area they are a bit older, shower stalls with curtains. They seemed to be cleaned regularly. There's an outpost there which has food, snacks, ice, firewood, some camp.gear and adult drinks. I would highly recommend this place and plan on coming back. My only issue was the wifi barely if ever worked, which was frustrating, but in the end was...OK, as it did allow us to disconnect from electronics while here.

We had a great time in Ocean City, MD at Frontier Town Campground. Great location, fun water park, delicious drinks at the Lazy River Saloon, & entertaining Wild West Park that featured a re-enactment of the shootout at the OK Corral. Well done. But….the sites were $192.05 per night. And they charged an additional $25 site lock fee to guarantee your site selection. We didn’t pay the fee and got moved 1/4 mile down the road from where our daughters & families were camping.
Rates next year…$228.41 per night. Unfortunately we won’t be back. Sun Communities has ruined our awesome family tradition since 1991 for us.

Our extended family booked two cabins in September during the off season. Even though the water park was closed, there was still plenty to do. It was great fun swimming in the pool, letting the kids use the playground, and fish or go crabbing off the dock. In my opinion, don't waste your money on a golf cart rental. Everything is easily within walking distance.
As for the cabin, having two separate bedrooms was very convenient. Honestly the beds and futon were not very comfortable, so I would recommend bringing a bunkie with you to place under the mattress. We appreciated having a private bathroom, a kitchen, and a large front porch. Please see the attached photos for the plateware and cooking tools that were in the kitchen. There was also a drawer with utensils and steak knives.

This was our first trip to Frontier Town for our family of five. Five boys aged 13,10,5. We stayed in W loop, it was very quiet after hours, and the other guests were very friendly. We loved the water park, and the fishing pier. Our little guy really enjoyed the cowboy show as he called it. Prior to coming I read some negative reviews about loud drunks, wild kids, poor WIFI. The WiFi was a bit sketchy, but In all honesty it worked great for a Roku TV, which is what really mattered to us. The cell service was light and phones had some connectivity issues on WiFi. The kids were well behaved, security is present and will kindly remind children of safety rules regarding bikes after dark. Adults were all well behaved, no drunks, no parties, no loud music. Just a really great family atmosphere, very clean, very welcoming. We booked for 2021 prior to departing. We can’t wait to come back next summer.

My kids still love it, but my wallet does not! This used to be our go to spot every year. The rate was $90, and it was a good deal but now the sites start at $140 and go to almost $300! I'm bringing my own damn house!! Plus, a $20 resort fee, per site, which in the terms and conditions says is $10 and is supposed to include Wi-Fi....but good luck connecting! Not to mention the $50 site lock fee, per site, not even per reservation! If you only show me available sites and I have to input all the information about my rig, what reason would you ever have to move anyone?! It's a $70 "fee" per site so for me any my family, whom each have a camper, it costs $210 in just fees! It's not like those fees are going into improving the campground, except to tear down trees to make way for $270 a night camp sites that consists of nothing more than payment and a slightly upgraded fire pit. For 3 campers and 1 golf cart in the least expensive site possible, for 2 nights was $1,182! It's getting to be that only the rich can camp anymore!

I’ve stayed in their deluxe cabin several times while attending Poochpalooza, which is held on site. I was incredibly disappointed this year. First, prices went up A LOT. I know everything has gone up, but the place has gone downhill with the new owners. The $25 fee to “lock in” your site is just money grabbing. My cabin E29, was the only one in that section that had a lake for a front yard! I almost needed waders to unpack the car. Why they would give me this cabin when there were plenty of empty ones where the water wasn’t ponding was very disappointing. There was also no internet service during my entire visit and the dimmer switch didn’t work, so it was bright lights or no lights! The only number they give you is an emergency number because they don’t want to hear any complaints. I finally found the front office number and they did send someone who told me they were having problems with the internet. He said the lightbulbs probably weren’t dimmer bulbs, but didn’t replace them. Oh, and bring hand soap because they don’t provide that. I understand you need to bring your own towels and linens, but I didn’t bring soap. I will never stay here again. Sad

They have cabins and I believe travel trailers on site you can rent also. They do have bathroom and shower facilities too. And you may want to reserve to rent a golf cart;)

Th ocean city shuttle drops you off right near the beach pier where all the fair rides are. You cross the street and you are on the boardwalk. It picks you up at the same spot. Can’t remember the times but we took the 7pm shuttle there and took the 10pm shuttle back. The shuttle is actually a school bus, so there is no AC. We were there July 4th, all the windows were down and we were comfortable
There are more places to choose from in the Ocean City area.
