On our arrival Saturday afternoon, we walked into a very nice, clean lobby, well adorned in holiday decorations with Christmas music playing overhead. The desk staff was very polite and welcoming! We were given a choice of floor, and proceeded to our room.
As I mentioned, we had an ocean view room. Ours had a small kitchenette on the left, with a full size coffee maker, microwave, and small fridge. The bathroom was on the right. It could get a little cramped if your party had the 4 or so people the room is meant to accommodate, but it worked out just fine for the two of us. Two queen sized beds, two dressers, desk, and a small table. The beds were OUTSTANDING! Both of us were envious, and wanted to take the mattress home. Unsure if we had any neighbors, but there did not seem to be any issue with noise. A clean and very comfortable room!
The hotel is very much set up to meet many of your needs. We ate at two of the dining options, Epic Grill and Bar and the Java Cafe. They have a fitness area, but it is a little small. We really like that we were able to get out to the main portion of the boardwalk within a reasonable walking distance.
A very nice hotel and we had very pleasant interactions with the staff.

The room smelled of mildew. The shower loudly screeched nonstop when the water was running. Also, the water would completely shut off every few seconds whether the shower was running or the sink...I mean completely shut off where not even a drop would leave the faucet or shower head.
The vents in the room, especially the vent above the shower, were absolutely gross and in serious need of cleaning. It is still sickening to me to think about it.
If I wanted to stay in a raggedy motel I would have still had the benefit of paying raggedy motel prices. Not the case here. I paid 4 star prices for a single star stay. There was nothing grand about the property or the experience.
The bad: this hotel has seen better days. It's generally dingy and desperately needs remodeling. The decor is horribly outdated and there are dusty, sad fake plants all over the lobby. I am not someone with horribly high standards but this really detracted from the experience of staying in a hotel. It was just very distracting. When I go to a hotel, even a two star hotel, I expect to be in a clean, attractive space. Even an older hotel can be clean, relatively updated, and tasteful. If the local McDonalds has nicer bathrooms than a hotel that costs $300 a night, that's a problem.
The ugly: the dining establishments in this place. I ordered a burger at the "Epic" bar and grill and it was disgusting. The meat was old and literally smelled bad. It tasted just awful. I asked for a refund the next day and was given the run-around by the hotel and restaurant staff. All of the food establishments in this hotel serve lousy, over-priced food with mediocre service. The hotel staff say the food establishments are "not affiliated" with the hotel itself but sorry, they are literally inside your hotel and reflect on how sad and dingy and sub-par it is.
Disclaimer: the above is my personal opinion of this establishment based on my recollection of the facts.
The only thing i didn't like was that i had to request DAILY MAID SERVICE
With the quality of the and the price of the rooms I shouldn't have to request daily maid service
You shouldn'tcome in and make the beds and give clean towels without someone telly to. .
Outside of that everything else was super!!!!
In the past I have checked in early and I know the rooms need extra care because of the pandemic but I left my name and number to be called when available. I was never reached in the 5 hours since I arrived and came back to check in after 4 since I was never contacted. The young woman first working the front desk upon arrival was very short and rude but at least the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. He said our room had been ready.
Two pillow cases in the room had strange stains on them as well as a wash rag we did not use because of the brown marking on it. After our first night we asked for new towels to be delivered and never received them. The second day we stopped to get them off of a house keeper on our floor to avoid not getting them as well as more toilet paper because only 1 roll was provided in the room for a 3 night stay.Â
The shower head in the room made an awful sound and we had to call for service on the toilet when it wouldn't flush shortly after our arrival as well as two other times. When paying for the top room in the hotel I expect more than to have issues the entire time I was here.
When I called before the trip to ask what would still be available in the hotel I was under the impression certain ammendities would still be accessible. I completely understand these can not be controlled as this time but I paid for a room where many services were not available. I asked the man on the day before checkout if we could be comped our last night and he told us no. I already paid for two very subpar nights and just wanted to leave due to nothing to do and very bad stay.
I am very disappointed in my stay after being here for so many years. I most likely will not be back. I emailed the hotel a week ago and did not hear back. I was hoping to resolve the issue before writing a review.
