Grand Hotel enjoys a prime boardwalk location with easy beach access, which numerous travelers find appealing, along with its range of amenities suitable for families. Although the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and space, some guests feel updates are necessary, pointing out thin walls and worn decor. While the hotel's cleanliness often receives compliments, the value proposition is a point of contention due to occasional malfunctioning amenities and unexpected expenses. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff friendliness tempered by reports of sluggishness.

I could not ask for a better stay at The Ritz. It was pretty much perfect in every way. The hotel staff was outstanding in accommodating the needs of our group in everything we needed. I hope to stay at The Grand twice a year for our group gatherings for a very long time.

Made an off-season, weekend getaway with my girlfriend; two nights in a direct ocean view room. Had been looking to go somewhere that neither of us had been, but would be a reasonable distance to feel "out of town". We checked in on a Saturday; checked out on Monday.

On our arrival Saturday afternoon, we walked into a very nice, clean lobby, well adorned in holiday decorations with Christmas music playing overhead. The desk staff was very polite and welcoming! We were given a choice of floor, and proceeded to our room.

As I mentioned, we had an ocean view room. Ours had a small kitchenette on the left, with a full size coffee maker, microwave, and small fridge. The bathroom was on the right. It could get a little cramped if your party had the 4 or so people the room is meant to accommodate, but it worked out just fine for the two of us. Two queen sized beds, two dressers, desk, and a small table. The beds were OUTSTANDING! Both of us were envious, and wanted to take the mattress home. Unsure if we had any neighbors, but there did not seem to be any issue with noise. A clean and very comfortable room!

The hotel is very much set up to meet many of your needs. We ate at two of the dining options, Epic Grill and Bar and the Java Cafe. They have a fitness area, but it is a little small. We really like that we were able to get out to the main portion of the boardwalk within a reasonable walking distance.

A very nice hotel and we had very pleasant interactions with the staff.

We regularly do a pre or post season stay at this Ocean City hotel. The advanced Black Friday sale for our two January nights Wednesday and Thursday in the King Jacuzzi room were the best deal ever at $124 total!! The room had a King bed and a Queen bed and the ocean view is awesome. In addition, we got a bag full of goodies at check-in and had pre-selected 3 of the 6 coupon offers at restaurants and other places. Tanya checked us in and facilitated our early check-in request. Of course, off season stays allow a buffer from the crowds, traffic and waiting time Ocean City is noted for in the summer. Two negatives were not being able to use the jacuzzi at checkin due to plumber working on hotel issue but we were good after dinner and secondly that water saving shower head sucks! We drive two hours to get here but it is always worth it! Ahhhhh....

I work about 60 hours per week and I was anxiously anticipating my stay in Ocean City. The hotel needs an overhaul. Given the pandemic, you would expect the property to be held to at least a disinfecting standard. When I went to the elevator I pushed the button and immediately attempted to get hand sanitizer from the sanitizer station between the elevator doors. It was empty. Not a problem because there was another station between the next set of elevator doors. It was empty too. No place is perfect all of the time so I regarded the lack hand sanitizer as a possible oversight from the staff. Unfortunately, I stayed for two nights and every time I got on the elevator, regardless of the time of day, the hand sanitizer was empty. So much for the hotel management's regard for the guests safety.

The room smelled of mildew. The shower loudly screeched nonstop when the water was running. Also, the water would completely shut off every few seconds whether the shower was running or the sink...I mean completely shut off where not even a drop would leave the faucet or shower head.

The vents in the room, especially the vent above the shower, were absolutely gross and in serious need of cleaning. It is still sickening to me to think about it.

If I wanted to stay in a raggedy motel I would have still had the benefit of paying raggedy motel prices. Not the case here. I paid 4 star prices for a single star stay. There was nothing grand about the property or the experience.

Dear randgriffin, Your review required a immediate red flag and investigation to your maintenance concerns. Regarding sanitizing stations I really question that comment because I am in charge of the stations and refilling as I walk the property daily. All the best.

The good: the room was clean and for $10 extra we had a "deck view" room, which meant that we could see the ocean past the hotel's extremely large and apparently unusable deck.

The bad: this hotel has seen better days. It's generally dingy and desperately needs remodeling. The decor is horribly outdated and there are dusty, sad fake plants all over the lobby. I am not someone with horribly high standards but this really detracted from the experience of staying in a hotel. It was just very distracting. When I go to a hotel, even a two star hotel, I expect to be in a clean, attractive space. Even an older hotel can be clean, relatively updated, and tasteful. If the local McDonalds has nicer bathrooms than a hotel that costs $300 a night, that's a problem.

The ugly: the dining establishments in this place. I ordered a burger at the "Epic" bar and grill and it was disgusting. The meat was old and literally smelled bad. It tasted just awful. I asked for a refund the next day and was given the run-around by the hotel and restaurant staff. All of the food establishments in this hotel serve lousy, over-priced food with mediocre service. The hotel staff say the food establishments are "not affiliated" with the hotel itself but sorry, they are literally inside your hotel and reflect on how sad and dingy and sub-par it is.

Disclaimer: the above is my personal opinion of this establishment based on my recollection of the facts.

We stayed in oceanfront room. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The fan in the bathroom didn't work. Some furniture was dated and not well maintained. There was a pizzeria, bar, and a cafe downstairs that offered variety of food and drinks to go or delivery. The hotel also had a few pool tables and arcade. Both indoor and outdoor pools were closed. So, check before you book. It was good price for 1 night stay in perfect location but we probably won't pay typical price of $300 plus for it in the middle of the summer

I have been staying with you for over 20 years. Everything was great.
The only thing i didn't like was that i had to request DAILY MAID SERVICE
With the quality of the and the price of the rooms I shouldn't have to request daily maid service
You shouldn'tcome in and make the beds and give clean towels without someone telly to. .
Outside of that everything else was super!!!!

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel for the past 4 years and have had no issues up until this stay. I've left great reviews everywhere I could because I have always been pleased with everything from the front desk to house keeping.

In the past I have checked in early and I know the rooms need extra care because of the pandemic but I left my name and number to be called when available. I was never reached in the 5 hours since I arrived and came back to check in after 4 since I was never contacted. The young woman first working the front desk upon arrival was very short and rude but at least the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. He said our room had been ready.

Two pillow cases in the room had strange stains on them as well as a wash rag we did not use because of the brown marking on it. After our first night we asked for new towels to be delivered and never received them. The second day we stopped to get them off of a house keeper on our floor to avoid not getting them as well as more toilet paper because only 1 roll was provided in the room for a 3 night stay.

The shower head in the room made an awful sound and we had to call for service on the toilet when it wouldn't flush shortly after our arrival as well as two other times. When paying for the top room in the hotel I expect more than to have issues the entire time I was here.

When I called before the trip to ask what would still be available in the hotel I was under the impression certain ammendities would still be accessible. I completely understand these can not be controlled as this time but I paid for a room where many services were not available. I asked the man on the day before checkout if we could be comped our last night and he told us no. I already paid for two very subpar nights and just wanted to leave due to nothing to do and very bad stay.

I am very disappointed in my stay after being here for so many years. I most likely will not be back. I emailed the hotel a week ago and did not hear back. I was hoping to resolve the issue before writing a review.

We were VERY happy wih this hotel. It is gorgeous but not pretentious. The view was spectacular and it was so nice to have a balcony. The young ones loved the game room and indoor pool (outside pool wasn't open yet). FYi, there are more games in the room leading up to the indoor pool. I was very impressed with the size of the room and that we had a microwave ,small fridge and coffee pot. They supply the coffee & cups just bring your paper & plastic goods along with you to eat the food you bring in. The location is excellent and when you pull out of their street and turn left, continue to go over the bridge and there's a ton of shopping and restaurants. The strip The Grand is on also has a lot on it. I'm going to definitely stay there again!

We love the Grand! We started staying there a few years ago for our anniversary and come back every year now. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, arcade games and pool tables, pool bar, several restaurants, coffee shop, etc. Literally everything you need! Beachfront access is always good and there is even a little shower on the side of the building to wash your feet before you come back inside. We usually spend the day on the beach and order a pizza from their pizza shop to eat while on the beach. Mimosas with breakfast at the Terrace restaurant... We always get an oceanfront room and have seen dolphins literally every trip down from our room. Usually the tram is running and we catch the tram to the other side of the boardwalk and make our way back up visiting the shops etc. There is a bike rental on the other side of the parking garage. Fish Tales is only two blocks away... So much convenience!

I agree with Tracy. The staff is super congenial so as long as you’re not bringing in a group of rowdy kids you should be fine. The only way you’d get in trouble is if someone complained.
