I had tried to call the motel directly to request a first floor room as I am a senior. I was greeted with an abrupt "Yes" when the person picked up as opposed to the customary cheerful greeting you get when you call most every business. I told her I wanted to book a room and was put on hold. After several minutes I saw that I had been disconnected. So I called back and got an answering machine. After it happened a second time a few minutes later I left a message. That was over an hour ago so I went forward and booked at the Thunderbird Motel. Never seen a business so disinterested in taking my money. This was on Monday 6/22 at noon in case management is interested. But they probably are not.

We booked a night trip during the holiday season (so naturally they tripled their prices). Our room was described as a double with a sitting area. The room was the size of a prison cell, there were dirt and bugs everywhere, MOLD on the ceilings, broken lights, NO toilet seat, and our window was taped shut.

This hotel needs to be shut down it is so disgusting and there is no way it passes any inspections. Save your money (and your well-being) and go elsewhere! I am still gagging thinking about our trip

Side note - we slept in our car and are still fighting with them for a refund.

Please do not spend your hard earned money on such a dump. The staff is terrible and the hotel is disgusting. The place has bed bugs and is never cleaned. The toilets do not flush and a surprise was waiting for me when I first checked into the room. I asked for my money back and was denied. Do not be fooled by the pictures. Place should be shut down by the health department as it is inhabitable. Take my advice and do not stay here.

If I could have chosen 0 stars I would have. I found this place on the internet and by its webpage and pictures, it looked like a decent place to stay. Upon arriving to the hotel, I had been traveling for a couple of hours, so I needed to use the restroom. When I lifted the lid to the toilet, there was a surprise floating there from the last tenants. When I went to flush the toilet, the toilet did not operate. I also noticed blood stains on the pillows and an electrical outlet that looked like it had caught fire. I immediately asked for a refund; however, I was told by the nasty woman at the counter that they do not do refunds. We ended up having to be moved to another room that was not much better. You could tell the beds were filled with bed bugs and the place had not been cleaned in a very long time. The staff is horrible and does not care about the customers. The hotel is absolutely disgusting and should be condemned immediately. Please do not bring your small children here as it is a very sketchy environment. Please, please, please pay an extra few dollars a night and stay somewhere that is safe and habitable. I do not want anybody else to have their vacation ruined by this place.

Do not even waste your money. This was mine and my fiance's first time in OC so paying $170 for a single night seemed expensive but decent compared to all the other hotels. Spend the extra $50-$100 staying at a nicer hotel. It'll be worth it! First we got there and our first room, which was connected to another room? smelt like pot.Which was coming from the room connected. We went down and asked for another room and it was even worse. The room smelt like the worse stench of mildew possible. We didn't even want to be in our room, so we planned on hanging outside. The only place you can sit outside is at the pool, which you can't sit at after 9. So we took two plastic chairs to go sit in the outdoor hallway and the guy came out and told up we couldn't sit in the hallway and that was really the only place to sit. So we said we'd take them out towards the parking lot. Then he proceeded to tell us that there was no alcohol allowed outside of our rooms. I won't even talk about the other people staying there. Everything about this place was trash. Who even cares that it's 2 blocks from the beach. Spend another $100 on a better place.

I checked online for rates before I went down for the day..the rate online was $95.00 per night..when I arrived it was $199.00 per night plus all those taxes and charges which ended up being $220.00. The toilet was filthy..I stole some potty protectors from a restaurant just so that I could sit on the seat in the bathroom..the room was very hot and even thought the ac thermostat said 60 it was no where near 60 degrees in the room which by the way was a very small closet with a hallway that led down to the bathroom..very small tv with direct tv..the remote was only for the channel changing it did not change the volume..you have to manually push the volume button on the tv up or down to adjust..the worst part of the stay other than the filthy bathroom was the guests staying upstairs above my room..they blasted their hip hop music and jumped up and down on the floor so hard that I thought the ceiling was going to break..they were rude and had no consideration for other guests staying at this motel..the pool was dirty with broken brown glass all over the deck on the side that I picked out..wearing flip flops was very helpful both around the pool and I also wore them to shower because the floor of the shower in my room was disgusting...don't bother staying here...unless you want to be miserable when you get back home from getting ripped off...

I stayed for one night with my young son - last minute trip to the beach over Memorial Day Weekend, so nothing was available. We threw our things in the room and took off for the evening - mini golf, boardwalk, dinner, etc.

Upon returning late, we were very tired and just wanted to sleep. The A/C was very noise (had to set it on high) but the room never got cooler than 80. We noticed the smell of cigarette smoke and a used ashtray in the room (non-smoking room). There were also exposed wires coming out of the wall, probably where the smoke detector was removed to accommodate the smokers. The door had no security latch or deadbolt - the lock was one that you might see on a bathroom door. The bedding and mattresses were worn and noisy. A little scary, especially for what happened next. Around midnight the noise started - shouting, profanity, breaking glass, doors slamming. This went on until 3am. Tried to call - no answer and quite honestly, my son can sleep through anything. I wasn't about to leave to make a 3 hour drive home. Early the next morning we packed up and left - had to be careful not to step in vomit on the way to check out. I voiced my complaints to the clerk at the desk who apologized but made no offer of compensation.

I did contact my credit card company - who contacted the merchant - who said I was lying and only wanted money back.

I would recommend this motel if you really couldn't care less about your accommodations and just want to party all night - obviously it is condoned there. Otherwise, stay far, far away.

This is very likely the worst place in all of Ocean City. The rooms are dirty, old, lack towels, don't have curtains on the windows. You cannot speak to the management because the staff claim their off-site location is not associated with the Coastal Inn. These people are dishonest and deliberately misrepresent themselves in their advertising. It lacked hot water, the Internet didn't work, management hung up on us. The only reason we got a refund is because we refused to lesve, finally forcing the staff to call the police. Only then were ee able to finally get a refund. This place needs to be shut down.

We just got to Ocean City and checking for cheap motels on various sites this one did not have awful reviews and was somehow on the cheap side (we ended up paying around $220 for 2 nights for 2 people).

GOOD:

* Cheap
* Big rooms
* Adequate bathroom

BAD:

* Looks filthy on the outside, on the walkways, in the parking lot.
* Some of the residents seem shady (strong smell of pot coming out from some rooms, we saw the police coming with 3 cars the first evening)
* They advertise they have WiFi - it's never working.

NEUTRAL:

* Distance from the beach - not bad, not best - 2-3 blocks away

So, if you want a cheap place to crash - this might be one of the options. But check other places before ...
