Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is great! Staff running the park are friendly and helpful. Facilities here are good too, great free showers, play ground for kids, cooking facilities and a games/to room.

We started our holiday here and stayed two nights in our camper van, then came back three weeks later to stay for another three nights at the end of our trip.

The site is a two minute walk from the beach, which is great. Pitches were generous, didn't feel over-looked at all.

Recommended for any holiday makers.

Had a great time staying here over the xmas period with the family, rooms we hired are basic but have the essentials, the public showers, kitchen, toilets etc all well maintained too. Lovely walks down the beach and around the venue too!

This is the best place to stay arriving to New Zealand via Auckland or prior to leaving for home. You can relax, plan your next move, recuperate from jet lag. Nice appointed cabins, motels and camping ground. Showers/toilets blocks are cleaning. The kitchen is very functional. But the best; it is on the beach and also facing the bay. About 1 hour from the Airport. Golf course is across the bay. Staff is amazing and friendly. A must on your list of place to stay.

It's a hard road finding somewhere that will let you stay with pets in Auckland. It gets made harder when a facility accepts your booking for 3 nights over Christmas, then calls you back to tell you that they have a minimum 5 night stay at that time of year. Not advertised anywhere on the site, not mentioned when you phone because when travelling with pets you always call to check everything will be okay. Expecting a minimum stay of 5 nights is absurd and something I've encountered nowhere else.

The camp is experiencing high demand for pet friendly sites particularly over the Christmas period. This is a peak season for the camp and as with other camps in the country we have set a minimum stay period at this time. This booking was taken by our staff and an error was made. The error was brought to your attention within hours and the extra nights were offered to you. It was therefore your decision at that point not to take up the booking and you cancelled. A refund was made straight away. We have provided a statement on our website regarding the times that we have minimum night bookings. This is under 'camping and powered sites' in the accommodation section. It is not factually correct to state that it is not advertised. We remain committed to being a pet friendly camp but at peak time want to ensure our patrons can make full use of all of the days, smaller bookings limit the opportunities for others. We have done everything possible with this booking to rectify the error and have been treated unfairly by the person who wrote this review.

We had a lovely stay at Clarks beach Holiday Park enjoying the beautiful scenery on the harbour coastline. The camping ground was a quiet and peaceful place to stay for a break away from the city. The hosts Suzanne and Gavin went out of their way to make our holiday a great week. It was a clean and tidy camp with good facilities at a very reasonable price. There are plenty of places to walk around the peninsula and enjoy the great sunrises and sunsets. Good fishing if you have a boat or you can fish off the point. A great place to relax. Although we had no children it would be a good place for kids as well.
There are little chalets with a view straight out over the harbour.

Our family stayed for 5 nights in one of the motel units overlooking the water, we loved the views ( Great for a glass of wine at the end of the day watching the tide come in ) , the owners where great and very helpful, the kids kept cool in the pool, and being so close to the sea lots of fishing and walking as well, we will happily stay here again, it is children friendly, with a good safe atmosphere, thank you to the new owners who made us feel welcome for our entire stay

My husband and I spent a very enjoyable night at Clarks Bch Holiday Park and especially enjoyed the very clean and tidy bathrooms and laundry. The basins were so shiny and the washing machines were polished.
The pool was very adequate although not flashy but again it was all very clean. Thank you Suzanne you warmly greeted us.
We were traveling in our motor home and parked in a spacious grassed, well mown area.

Spent the weekend at Clarks Beach with our family. The new management team have already made a big difference to the place even though they've only been there a couple of months. It used to be very rundown but already I've seen a number of improvements. The hosts are lovely, nothing's too much of a problem for them. So much for kids to do, and it's a fantastic spot. Not far to drive if you're an Aucklander, but you still feel miles away from the hustle and bustle.

We stayed here overnight, my Wife and Myself and our grandson. Awesome place to stay. We had a motel unit and it was awesome. It had everything we wanted. Had a quaint deck which was so lovely to enjoy the evening sun and see the sunrise. the view was spectacular. The service was great and very accommodating. Has a great swimming pool, family room and games room. Thanks for the most relaxing stay we have ever had. We will return but stay longer next time :)

Needed accommodation for one night in this area as we had a wedding to go to at Waiau Pa Cherub Chapel. Just a lovely wee chalet style unit with outdoor decks front and rear, right on the water, really pretty (when tide is in) lots to see and lots to do. Definitely a must to visit for families or just needing a break away from the city. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The unit was very modern/clean and presented in an immaculate manner
