Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for a week in our tent in December. My partner was on holiday from work - I had to commute for 3 days. We have stayed there previously under the old owner and wasn't very impressed with his level of customer service. My how things have changed!! When we checked in we had probably the warmest welcome we have ever had in a campground in NZ. The lady in reception is just lovely.Your classic Kiwi campground - nothing fancy but hospitality makes up for everything, the bonus was the showers used to take money, the showers have been refurbished and the whole place is a happy place to be. So close to Auckland. We love it and we will be back!!

This is a lovely spot a short drive from Auckland. Great for children, with a play area, safe beach across the road and even a cold pool for the hot summer days. There are motels, cabins and camping/caravan sites with water and power. The kitchen is clean and tidy with excellent stoves. There are take-aways at Clarks Beach and a small supermarket about 10 minutes away. This holiday spot is ideal if you don't want a long drive.

Our holiday park is a family friendly site utilised by a multicultural clientele. In order to maintain a peaceful and friendly environment for all campers we will ensure we check inappropriate behaviour. The author of this review was a member of one of the more challenging groups we have met in nine years. Their disregard for the needs of the other campers and the guidlines outlined on checkin was extreme. When spoken to, their group became aggressive and were abusive to staff. The abuse was ongoing and we had no choice but to ask them to leave. In nine years of operating the park we have only had to ask three people/ groups to leave. We will continue to focus on maitaining cosistant standards in our park. The feedback we received about this group from the other campers in the park further reinforced that our decision was appreciated.

We didn't intend to stay here, but so glad we did! What a lovely spot, not far from Auckland, but far enough away to think you are in another world! I don't know why more Aucklanders don't go there!! We didn't have the kids with us but it would have been great for kids - large swimming pool, good playground, beach swimming, good facilities and lovely staff. We definitely intend to come back!

During the winter our camp never looks at it's best. In winter is very wet and cold and part of the camp is not used.. We tend to focus on Summer months for the camping. During September and October we focus on tidying up after the storms in preparation for the Summer camping season.

We stayed 4 nights in our small caravan. Good clean kitchen facilities. Showers & toilets are fine. It's not all "brand new", but you don't expect that from a camping ground, so I'm not sure what some of the negative reviewers are complaining about. Pool is great (not heated). The beach is wonderful on a sunny day, try to go around high tide for swimming. Great for kids. So happy this place is less than an hour from Auckland, but it seems like you are in a totally different place. We were so impressed that we've booked to go again.

We called in for one night on our way home and were impressed with the welcome and facilities the holiday park offered.
We stayed in a studio type motel room with a double and single bed.
Room was compact but well laid out considering the overall size of room.
A couple of things could do with improving
1. The beds were soft and had little support, they sagged in the middle. We ended up using both beds to reduce this but unfortunately woke up a bit sore.
2. The toilet paper is the cheap stuff. For the price of the room nice toilet paper would make it.
It is usually the little things that make the difference.
Overall good

thank you for your feedback. Regarding the beds we will now go and check them out and see if we need to upgrade them. This is the first time we have had this feedback. the toilet paper is supplied by a hospitality company and is used throughout Auckland. We will give them your feedback.

We booked this place for our last night as it's less than an hour from the drop off. It's in the back and beyond and there's not much in the village, (even worse that the restaurant is closed Mon and Tue but there is a chippy).
The owners were welcoming and the guy drew us an elaborate map to site 20 when all he had to really do was point out of the front door really, it was just a few rows away but what a palarva with a big motorhome to spot the right place, they're not obviously marked. This is where the real fun began. The site is quite bizarre and filled with ancient caravans that have been stuck onto cabins. Even the two touring caravans in front of us were old Oxfords from the early 70's. As we reversed in the old bird from one of the vans rushed out squawking that we were about to reverse over her satellite dish. She did this every time we moved. It has a pool but it looked a bit dated. The whole site is spotless and in a lovely area but I felt like I'd time travelled back into the 1970s and was expecting Sid James to run past chasing Barbara Windsor at any moment! Worth a visit just for a gander at all the bizarre statics.

If you are looking for a park that is away from the crowds, this one is for you. A close stroll to a lovely park and water front. We read reviews where others were negative about up keep here but what they did not know is the owners have only had it a short time and are improving things daily. Even tho some things need updating, it is really clean, peaceful and friendly. Good WIFI too.

Thank you, it is a massive job to bring the camp up to a better standard. It is happening but it won't happen overnight.
