Detailed Reviews
This bed and breakfast will give you the feel of the rolling hills of Kentucky. We do not usually like to stay in places that are Victorian in style and though this location certainly had this, that was not the overall feel. We stayed in the master suite which was a huge room with a separate room for the jacuzzi and a separate room for the shower. The owner, Karrol, had just put new Tempur-Pedic mattresses on all beds. Ours was pretty firm so if you like a softer feel mattress, you might let her know because some of the mattresses in the rooms might have different types of firmness. Karrol is very accommodating and we felt at home there. The rooms are very reasonable and a great choice if you like being out in the beautiful countryside. We will return to this location on our future trips to Cynthiana.

My husband and I stayed at the Side Saddle with another couple for a weekend. We had a lovely stay. The place wasn't perfect - there were small details missing, such as the TV in our room wasn't working, some lights were burned out, the coffee maker in the sitting room had no coffee, and the large parlor downstairs, which should have been a Victorian showcase, was marred by a desk with piles of paper. However, those are small things. The important stuff - a friendly, welcoming host, delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, excellent beds, clean rooms, bathrooms so clean you could do surgery, reasonable prices and most of all - some of the most spectacular Kentucky countryside you could ask for - were all spot on. We spent some time in the gazebo in the evenings, with lights, talking and visiting. Karroll had some good suggestions for things to do on Saturday. All in all, it was a great place to stay and we'd do it again.

Make sure you get everything in writing if you want to rent for a wedding. The owner says she will do this and that and she doesn't follow through. Only one trash can for 200 people, she was to supply bags and trash cans. Said she would supply parking signs, never did. We never felt welcome, and she rented the room next to the honeymoon suite to two elderly ladies--how embarrassing. Also said she would put the chairs ties on if we rented from her, did not happen. She kept trying to find ways to make more money for her, she wanted me to hire her nieces for additional help. Farm wasn't cut or clean when we arrived, and several items were stolen. Many flowers were dead and uncared for. The wedding turned out beautiful, but the owner was useless. Would not recommend this Inn at all.

I stumbled across this Gem on the internet! I had a 2 day stay in Cynthiana when my Father-in Law passed away. I needed to be close to town & did not want to stay in Georgetown or Lexington. I stayed in the master suite, elegantly decorated, & enjoyed the oversized jacuzzi bath. All rooms have Temperpedic Mattresses and are elegantly furnished with antiques. There was also a sitting room/LIBRARY where I could make phone calls (privately). The owner's were very accomondating and absolutely lovely! I picked out my breakfast menu the night before and ate in the main dining room. I also picked out my coffee the night before too! (Kona). Upon awakening I took a strole on the property and was greeted by several friendly horses. Picturesque and pleasant to say the least! I can't wait to go back for a nice long relaxing weekend! What a Find! Thanx Again!

We stayed at The Side Saddle Inn when we first visited Cynthiana, Ky and enjoyed it so much, we returned the following year for another visit, and "lived" there for a week the following July while buying our home in Cynthiana. We've stayed in two different rooms. The first had a king-sized bed and seating area. The second was the Master Suite, which is very spacious and has a large room with a jacuzzi tub big enough for 4! A Keurig coffeemaker is provided. The rooms are lovely and extremely comfortable. Some of the most peaceful sleep you'll ever have. The owner provides a breakfast menu for you to choose what you'd like the next morning and everything we've had was prepared perfectly and delicious. You're never rushed and it's like being at home, only better. We always took a walk up to the barns, and enjoyed seeing the horses. When family or friends visit, that's where they want to stay.
