The New Wichita Aloft hotel has the best customer service! When I called to have someone assist, Katie was polite and assisted expeditiously. The hotel is welcoming and a beautiful property. I recommend staying while visiting Wichita, KS. This will be my preferred location for business.
I love this Marriott property. I have stayed here twice and both times have used the Marriott app to reserve within two hours of arrival. Check-in when I arrive is quick and smooth and the staff is very friendly. The property is very clean, upscale and trendy. Great bar area with food and a lobby area for seating. The check-in area also has packaged food and drinks. Hotel is dog friendly and I have a big dog that doesn't like to sleep anywhere but home. Interestingly enough, he does so well in this hotel and sleeps like a baby. So it has his approval too. We came across this hotel by chance in a storm returning from Colorado last year and chose it intentionally when coming back this year.
Stopped here with a last minute reservation on our way to Colorado. We were pleasantly surprised as we hadn’t stayed in this brand of hotel before. Extremely friendly staff, very clean rooms and a super comfy bed. Would definitely stay here again! Also-appreciated how close it was to 135 (about a mile) but it was set off by itself next to a beautiful pond. Lovely.
I have stayed here since it opened. My recent stay in July 2021 was not good. My room was never cleaned or towels refreshed my entire stay. After the 2nd day I inquired about it and was told I was supposed to sign up for maid service at check-in. This was never reviewed with me. So I requested it for the following day and still did not receive it. I had peers staying here that experienced the same thing and some had no towels in their room at check-in. Staff appears to be undertrained. Pool appeared to be dirty, although I chose not to swim in it.
Stay here! First time staying at this hotel chain, the hotel amenities has something for everyone. The hardworking friendly staff is what makes this hotel. It needs few management of logistics and maintenance to make this hotel a 5 star. Because it’s such a popular and busy place, some important key details are overlooked. I know they will be taken care of and you will have a wonderful stay! So book this hotel! I can’t wait to come back and vacation here with my family! These are the complaints from other guests and myself from talking amongst eachother while working out and swimming. 1)he hotel’s water is hard. It’s like they forgot to put salt in the hotel water softener. That leads to hard scratchy towels, skin dry, etc. I didnt notice since I have been swimming in the salt water pool all week. A guest there told me she is a “water snob” and instantly could tell in the shower that it’s hard water. 2)The hot breakfast is not as promised. Many people left and went to ihop. They are out of nearly all fruit and don’t do a hot breakfast…well you can microwave a frozen sandwich and make it hot. they are out of Coffee creamer and white milk, I need milk for all meals and many other kids and families need it. It’s like they are out of stock on all their food, fresh frozen, some drinks. I am about ready to go to Cosco and restock their beautiful re:charge breakfast area so all of us at the hotel can eat and the nice front desk workers don’t have to hear about everything being out from their guests. We are hungry! 3)The a/c in the exercise cannot be turned down with a high fan… so the exercise room feels like holy hot hell in the mornings. It’s been like that for awhile said the kind general manager Nate. It just how it is he said.. if I managed or owned this hotel I would make a phone call and get that a/c fixed. Every single guests that was in there with me complained about the heat. So it wasn’t just me. It was hot at nights too. Thankfully they have a phone that I can use to call if any of the guests croak because of the heat. Oh, and fix the music in the exercise room. There are speakers are in there… they said something is broke with the music playing in there. 5) the dryer is broke. Has been for awhile, I even talked to the manager in charge of this hotel. Nice guy! Said he would take care of it. 7 days later, dryer is still broke. I am about to go fix it myself. Clean and dry clothes are important to guests. Especially traveling business people and families who have events to go to. Or moms like me. 6) Last but not least, there is no security or management that is fast acting on guests concerns. The front desk workers must have been talked to about emailing and all complaints to the manager. He must get a lot of complaints from the front desk (which means the guests are complaining). Because my daughter and I saw a man on the 2nd peeing when the elevator door opened. He was peeing on the wall and the man turned and looked at us and said, “I’m going to get you”. My daughter and I were scared and went back up to the 5th floor, laundry room and called the front desk, for security. I explained her the situation and she said the manager is taking complaints by email, so I have to email her. But I we were scared for our safety… We built up enough courage, and went down to the front desk. Again, she said to email the hotel manager or email her so she can put it in a list of complaints for him to take care of when he can. I wasn’t scared for my safety anymore, I was just concerned for the full hotel.. for the guests seeing the guy peeing and all the other guests smelling the pee on the wall. At the bar that night, other guests were talking about the guy peeing on the wall and laughed that he didn’t get kicked out. I hope housekeeping took care of the pee on the wall. Oh, and the guy peeing on the floor 2 is still here. He said he was on some hard drugs. He lives in town and is just chillin at the hotel, with his women. So he loves this hotel too;) Again, The hotel has huge potential, I love it here and I can’t wait to bring my kids and family back to use the amenities. I bet they will take care of these important guest complaints fast, because they have a great team of people working and have smart business men/women who know how to fill up the hotel every single night.
