The island was simply paradise. Only thing that matches the beauty of your surroundings is the amazing people. They are their to serve in every way. Food was simply amazing. The island was truly special being secluded enough to take it all in, but also having things keep you entertained and having fun. We took some trips to mainland and was impressed with the knowledge and amazing personalities where ever we went. Look no further this is your next vacation spot if you want to have the time of your life. We plan on going back. The only disappointment with our time their was leaving.

We stayed at Yok Ha last year and had a blast. The resort is near the Belize Barrier Reef and has all the amenities you need to enjoy your time in Belize. We enjoyed the delicious seafood, tropical drinks and tours to the reef. I highly recommend you visit this resort when you vacation in Belize.

Cannot believe I never posted about this trip a few years ago! This place lives up to the reviews. We were nervous about food initially as we read we couldn’t pick but honestly they are so accommodating! We paid extra to spear fish and got lots of lobster and ended up getting to eat lobster 2 nights in a row! It was amazing. The staff works so hard and really makes you feel like part of the family and comfortable to ask for anything and to be able to relax!!! The ride from the small town of Dangriga is pretty bumpy on their boat but worthwhile and part of the adventure! Same on having to book and fly from Belize City to Dangriga on a tiny aircraft. When we arrived there was one other couple that left the next day so we had the entire island to ourselves for 3 nights! …

This was my 2nd vacation at Yok Ha and they NEVER disappoint; if you are looking for an escape with 3 fresh and delicious meals a day, a bright colored, comfortable cabana, outstanding staff, kayaks, snorkel and fishing gear always available without crowds, TV or stress this is the place for you. Thanks to everyone at Yok Ha for making our December vacation memorable, restful, care-free and very fun. My 86 year old Mom wants to return annually. The staff is open minded and accommodating. The snorkeling in an around the resort and at the coral reef is spectacular; we always felt safe, at ease and at home. We made new friends and were sad to say good-bye...If you want to treat yourself to an unforgettable, off-the-beaten-path vacation, this is the place for you. Thank you…

We had a very poor experience with Yok Ha. It pains me to write a negative review, but I wanted to inform others since I heavily rely on TripAdvisor reviews. I've summarized our experience below as objectively as I could. EXTRA CHARGES BEYOND EXPEDIA CHARGES - We made a reservation several months in advance through Expedia for 2 adults and 2 young children for the Loa/Honeymoon Cabana for the night of New Year’s Eve at a cost of $546.67. Yok Ha called and said Expedia should not have allowed us book a cabana for a single night and that we should have been charged more. We said they could cancel the reservation and we would look elsewhere, but they said we could stay if we paid an additional $150 for our children, bringing the cost to $696.67, excluding service fees. By this…

Dear Melissa J, Even upon check-in we offered to cancel the booking and we refunded immediately (which is against standard hotel practice). Everything else stated is simply fabricated for the purpose of disparaging our resort.

On a 3 acre island - quiet, tranquil, laid back. GREAT massage with Maya. Good meals 3x a day although I'd advise requesting ahead of time all fish (otherwise there is a bit of meat and lots of chicken, and the fish is way better and usually fresh caught that day.) We had a near disastrous snorkeling trip, however. There was a strong undercurrent which should have been evident to the guides. NO ONE should have been in that water, and they should have first gone in themselves to test it. (It looked fine from above.) My husband nearly drowned - seriously. And it was rather amazing that no one back at the resort - including the owners, who made a cameo appearance - never addressed this with us. If you snorkel with them be advised that they do not operate like a US regulated…

Our family had a great time at this resort! The boat ride from Dangriga was short and comfortable! The accommodation was excellent! The staff was courteous and attentive and the food was fresh and delicious. Being able to snorkel near the second largest Barrier Reef in the world, not too far from the reserve, was a treat! I highly recommend Yok Ha Resort in southern Belize!

Just returned from an amazing trip to Yok Ha. We occupied the purple and blue cabanas. We absolutely loved this place and felt totally off the grid. Meals were great, staff was great and snorkeling and spear-fishing excursion was so much fun! The beds were so comfortable and the A/C worked great. Granted the water pressure leaves something to be desired, but you are in the middle of the ocean on a private island - this just adds to the charm in my opinion. Since we were here for only 5 nights we didn't do any excursions on the mainland - we were too mesmerized by the quiet beauty of the island and didn't want to leave. As others have said this resort is not for everyone. Read the reviews carefully and come if you are looking for a unique experience with an amazing staff. I have…

Yo Hak is a very nice, remote spot located about 8 miles from the Dangriga. You really have the sense that you are off the grid. The fact that there are only 5 spacious cabins helps make you feel even more isolated and really helps you to relax. If you are looking for not much to do and just lay around this is the place. The food is very good and the barman makes nice drinks trying to please most palettes. The downside is that they are extremely regimented in the start time of meals. One day, lunch was served late and I had asked for a later start time to dinner which they would not accommodate. Despite making good food, they somehow had to be told several times that my girlfriend is a vegetarian and served her meat several times. This wasn’t a big deal but after asking several…
