I was surprised and thought I might not get a nights sleep being so close to the main road right opposite a big shopping mall ...... but how wrong was I :) Yes nice unit and they are in the throws of renovating all the units. Mine was good and had a great nights sleep, need it as I had an important presentation to do for my business ....... and all things considered .... it all went well :)
I will, if I can't get closer to city in the future not hesitate in using this lodge again.
Clean, nicely laid out units and reasonable beds.

This was not my first stay and as always it was clean, quiet and convenient. The price was excellent for the location. The proprietors are friendly and helpful. Family friendly and right opposite the Pakuranga Town Centre.

This is the second time we have stayed at this motel and will stay again. Right opposite the Pakaranga Plaza and adjacent to some great restaurants and to top if all off the Saturday night food markets under the plaza shops are fantastic. The motel is very comfortable and clean, great beds and amazingly very quiet at night considerating the volume of traffic passing by. Also very good scenic walks around the water front.

At short notice I needed somewhere to stay in Pakuranga to be close to family in the suburb. Based on TA reviews, online photographs of the motel and price I would not have chosen to stay at Pakuranga Motor Lodge but I was pleasantly surprised.

The motel is run by a lovely Korean family, no issues with check-in but was disappointed to find out that the WIFI was not included in what I thought was a high room price per night, fortunately on seeing my disappointment I was offered free WIFI, a saving of $5/day.

My room was at the back of the complex away from Pakuranga Road which is busy by day but at night it was very quiet. And yes the rooms are dated but very clean and serviced daily. The rooms are self contained with a microwave, mini-frig, sufficient crockery and cutlery for two persons, a good supply of tea, coffee, drinking chocolate and sugar sachets which are replenished each day. One small bottle of milk is given out on arrival.
The bed was very comfortable, but I struggled to find a decent pillow to sleep with out the four in the room. The bathroom was very clean and well stocked with sufficient toiletries. I am a fussy traveller when it comes to noise at night, but there was very little noise through the walls or from the nearby road, I was pleasantly surprised. The room has an air-conditioner, TV and hairdryer. Lighting in my room was fine.

Across the road from the motel is a shopping centre with a large supermarket, or without crossing Pakuranga Road is a smaller upmarket supermarket, Thai and Malaysian restaurant available. There is a bus stop within a short walk.

If you are looking for an escape right next to the motel is a small park called the Rotary Reserve, take the path down to the delightful Rotary Walkway which weaves its way through the mangroves and down to the bay, delightful.

Very dated but Very clean. Good location for those with a car. Free parking a plus and free wifi up to 1gb.
Noisy and busy traffic right outside the door.
Tea, making facilities and microwave etc electric blanket was not required but on the bed anyway and quite bulky 😖

We have family members staying for 2 nights, they had nothing but good things to say about there stay. One of the children left something behind, the staff held onto it until I collect it a couple of day later. Would use again.

Reliable family business, running a tight ship. Clean and organised. Nothing super fancy and a bit of the 80's in the air. Superb location when working in East Tamaki, Howick or Half Moon Bay next day. Just across the road a wide range of shops, shopping mall, gas station and restaurants. Rotary Park for a good evening stroll right behind the motel. Good galley, plenty of TV channels that work. 40 inch Plasma. It is right by the road, easy to find, but you do get a bit of road noise.

Stayed for two nights. Clean comfortable convenient to where I was working. The room is very dated but a good size. I was greater by a staff member that wasn't really interested and I got the impression that I was a distraction for him. There is some noise from the main road but not to excessive.

Stayed here for a week attending a wedding. Relatively clean, warm, good wifi. But...
There were a couple of rooms of difficult guests - an overseas rugby team. The nights were very noisy, lots of loud music, breaking bottles, talking in the open loudly even fights. the motel managers seemed reluctant or powerless to do anything. We even had to call the cops at one point as there was fighting, and breaking of windows. It was a very unsafe atmosphere - especially for us who with our 4 year old.

I think the owners dealt with this difficult situation very poorly in the end - they let themselves get intimidated by these guests and as a result the rest of the guests in the motel like us had a very poor experience and will almost certainly never return.
