We stayed at Staveley Heights B&B on short notice and unfortunately only for one night. What a find! Beautiful location with nice walks around. Our hosts were absolutely great, welcoming us on short notice, giving us suggestions what to do in the area and where to eat. The B&B is immaculately run, with an eye for detail. There is a separate living room for guests, decked out with tea/coffee facilities and cookies, magazines and anything you could think of to feel at home and comfortable. The rooms including the bath room were very spacious, elegantly decorated, high quality linen and towels, with that extra touch of fresh water by the bedside. One of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Looking forward to returning.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by Steve and Sharon. We booked two nights and would have loved to stay longer! Our room was amazing with the most comfortable bed. Nothing was a problem for our wonderful hosts. They are so knowledgeable about the area and easy to chat with. A delicious breakfast was made for us by Steve each morning. We highly recommend people to try this beautiful B&B.

Steven and Sharon Jones are the couple who own and operate Staveley Heights B&B in the Ashburton District and what a delight they were to meet. You know how you can tell straight away, as soon as you meet the B&B owners/hosts, why they have a homestay business, ie what their motivation is? Steven and Sharon had their beautiful home built six years ago with the goal in mind of sharing their stunning views of Mt Somers and the Canterbury Plains as well as their beautiful selves with others. They could charge far more for their rooms and services but want to keep their rates reasonable so that people from all walks of life can stay in their home. Their beds will enfold and keep you cozy and warm. Their breakfasts are designed to leave you full and satiated. Their warm welcome, availability to answer any and all questions balanced with a keen sensitivity to respect the privacy of their guests is the perfect balance. Honestly, they and their gorgeous home are well worth the drive from Christchurch. They offer a genuine, no attitude, down-to-earth friendly service with opulent furnishings and take-your-breath-away views that you will never forget. However, consider yourself forewarned. After one visit you will want to return again and again just to bathe in their genuinely, warm, loving energy as well as relax and regenerate.

Staveley Heights B&B stands out from any other accommodation in all aspects. The owners, Steve and Sharon, warmly welcomed us as one of their own in their tastefully decorated and impeccably clean mansion and ensured that our stay was most pleasant throughout. We much enjoyed their very friendly and laid back company. We found them to be very accommodating and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Sharon also made sure that we had our best diner in New Zealand at Staveley Heights. Our four nights were spent in the Winterslow room which was soundproof and equipped with a very comfortable bed and offered a view of Mount Somers. We certainly hope to return there next time we visit New Zealand.

We loved staying at Staveley Heights Bed and Breakfast. From their driveway it is a short walk to a lovely trail along the river. Also the B&B is close to Mt. Sunday, a must see for any Lord of the Rings fans for just anyone who loves beautiful country. Skip the tour and just drive there yourself. The owners will give you directions. Staveley Heights was very clean. We were a party of six and we had the whole house to ourselves. There was a TV room with teas and a refrigerator for our wine. The outside patio was a perfect place to soak up some sun and a great place to see all the stars at night. My daughter and I even saw a shooting star one night. Breakfast was excellent. We could have stayed here for a week. The owners treated us like family. It was hard to say good bye!
