Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you’re looking for a reasonable rate then this 2 storey hotel is a 5/5 , but if you think they offer the breakfast advertised in the rates, or maid service, clean towels, or to get your bed made then you’ve come to the wrong place. A small sign at the front desk tells you there won’t be any of those things, but of course by then you’ve already booked and checked in. Ouch! Cross this little stinker off your list. Oh, and you better bring your own sheets, you won’t want to sleep on the ones provided. QUALITY - not so much.

Stayed here for a Notre Dame home game. While the hotel is "tired" it is well located near the expressway and has shuttle service (self pay) to the Notre Dame game. The breakfast included fresh cooked eggs and sausage which was a nice surprise.

Not a good experience. Check in was slow, but clerk was friendly, even if he didn't seem to know much about nearby restaurants. Pool was closed for remodeling. Room was on 3rd floor and only ice machine was on 1st floor. Halls and elevator were dirty, but room was better. Got back from dinner to find I couldn't connect to internet. Went to desk only to find out internet has been out for last 3 days. Had to go elsewhere to get work done. Went down to breakfast at 830. No one was there to refill items, or even ask for something. No eggs, no sausage. Syrup almost gone; had to pour it out, because it was below spout. No knives to cut waffles or spread toppings on a bagel or toast. About 15 min later at check out, mentioned breakfast issues to clerk, who indicated been out of knives for a week, and that breakfast person was supposed to have filled everything before leaving. Breakfast was served until 930. Do you stock at 830 and hope it lasts an hour????

The worst hotel I ever being. Customer services a joke, I asked for extra towels the guy said the people from cleaning had already left and he didn’t had a way to get more towels. Please never stay at this place. The place is dirty, old and they did make our beds. Never stay there.

The only reason I stayed here as much as I did was because it was convenient for my job. The office staff is rude with the acception of the Caucasian woman that works at night. The housekeepers need to be retrained on how to properly clean a bathtub. Where do I begin? I am a choice privilege member and have been since 2016. Just recently became a platinum member. The choice website states that we are able to ask for a 2 hour extended checkout. Which I've had no issue receiving at least a 1 hour extended checkout with ANY other choice hotel. Is this really a choice hotel? So I came up to the desk to check in and the desk clerk was sleeping. Do they get paid to sleep on the job? I stated that I was a choice privilege member and that I wanted the extended checkout. He said he could do it for noon. No problem! I was happy with that. Fast forward to the next morning and housekeeping was knocking on my door at 11:10 telling me that it was time to checkout. I told her that I was suppose to have a noon checkout time and then the office called me and told me I had to checkout at 11:30. I hadn't even taken a shower so I was a little upset and told the desk clerk that I was very unhappy. She said the guy told her that he never told me that I could have the extended checkout. Well he was probably too tired to remember seeing as though he WAS SLEEPING when I walked up to check in. Yes I left pissed! So fast forward again to today. I had a reservation for tomorrow night and the hotel called me to tell me that they weren't going to honor my reservation because I was put on the do not rent list because I was rude to the staff. Train your staff better or maybe hire some upgraded staff and maybe people won't have to be so rude to them. I'm also a travel agent on the side and have booked many reservations at this hotel for guests in the past. Well not anymore! I put this hotel on my DO NOT BOOK list.

Gave me a room that smelled like urine. So i asked for another room. The girl at the front desk had me stand there for 20 minutes as she played on her phone and che ked in other people. So i went back and waited in the room that smelled like someone urinated on everything but the toilet. This is no joke, guy knocks on the door says maintenance and then says oh i just wondered if they actually put someone in there. Do i opened the door because of his response.. And he just has his dog with him. Big dog and its raining outside.. So he stinks.it gets better. I go to the front desk and the girl says "im helping other people, so like just chill out." At this point im blown away so i said just give me my deposit back. Im not staying in this place. And she knowing im up theres cuz the room was terrible conditions tell the maintenance man with his dog to go check the room before she gives me my deposit back.. Not to mention when i asked her if she was serious right now? She says if you get aggressive i will call the cops.?? I know this wont matter but that girl should be fired fired fired. I own a small business in the area and if this happened i would be embarrassed. Terrible / worst/ in 37 years ive been alive nothing like it.

It's definitely one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of places.
There was hair on the floors, and it looked like it hadn't had a decent cleaning in ages, but they definitely go ham on the disinfectant in some areas, because the smell was extremely strong when I first opened the door.
Really needs an update; furniture was busted and feeling, the bed was beyond lumpy (never had that happen before), pillows were lumpier. I worked in hotels for ages, and usually strip the beds before I leave, and when I did so the mattress protector was barely hanging on by a thread.
The breakfast was pitiful, but I wasn't exactly expecting much. It was loud, and I didn't really feel safe as the outer entry door didn't even latch, so anyone could just wander in.
I honestly hope they don't charge the $1000+ most other hotels do per night for home games; would be a total waste.
The only positive aspect, was the lady at the front desk that checked me in; she was nice, efficient, and I felt she explained everything perfectly. No name tag though, but she was pleasant.

Good bed but the hotel is worn and has seen some better days. So if you just need to crash for a night, it will work. However, if you want to "unwind," you'd be better off spending a few extra dollars at a different place.

Looked good online. Said it was as newly renovated. Chosen due to easy off and on travel. When we got there tried to change us from handicapped to second floor. No reason given. We had an online paid booking. Finally, they let us use handicapped after showing medical need card for it. Shouldn’t have embarrassed us that way. Fortunately, there we’re no others in lobby when we checked in. They were still adhering to strict COVID-19 policy with pool closed and bagged breakfast even though everywhere else we went had their signs removed. Convenience or staffing shortage?? Unsure we didn’t ask just complied. 8:30 pm flooded water through the ventilation vent in bathroom. They said they had rain earlier in week. None that day..??? Why?! Moved us next door non handicapped suite. Still could get a shower in the morning for one of us anyways but no offer for a different handicapped room. 3 am huge crash and boom woke us from old room next door. Ceiling tiles down in hall too. No one at the desk was aware we were moved. We explained why our room number was different. Ah, we’ll live and learn. Check out the reviews better next time.

We spent two nights south of the Michigan border in South Bend at the Quality Inn University Area. It is a mile north of Notre Dame and Holy Cross College on Dixie Hwy., with easy access to the highway. There are 110 rooms, gave us long hallways to walk for exercise at the end of 2 days at a conference. They have a phenomenal pool that holds 145 people. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was quick to answer questions. It was so good to be offered a big, hot breakfast agIn.
