We stayed here due to a neighboring hotel not having hot water. Why we didn't choose LaQuinta in the first place is beyond me. What an OUTSTANDING experience! The lobby and adjacent breakfast area is modern and well kept. The desk clerk was very accommodating and we received a standard king room. Elevators were spacious, well lit, and fast. No complaints about our room whatsoever; clean, full towels, comfortable mattress, pillows, and sheets. Plenty of drawer and closet space; Wi-Fi is fast, large flat-screen TV, comfortable desk w/chair. Plenty of electrical outlets and USB ports. Bathroom was large with soaps (Dove) and the walk-in shower was most welcomed. The breakfast is excellent; sausage & eggs, biscuits & gravy, fruits, lots of hot or cold cereals, bagels, muffins...best we have seen in many travels! We did not use the pool but guest children certainly enjoyed it. Truly an exceptional stay and what was looking to be a lousy road experience turned out beautifully. Highly recommend the LaQuinta Inn & Suites near Notre Dame...even if we aren't Irish fans!

Great new hotel, lobby and halls on the 1st floor have tall ceilings and bright lights.
Room was comfortable. Thermostat is responsive and chilled the room well.
Lots of plugs for charging and usb ports. Space to put your luggage and shelves, closet to place items while staying. Also fridge and microwave. Bed was comfortable and we slept really well. The shower has great pressure.
Good breakfast, lots of options with proteins and variety of options.
The bath products given are way basic, but if you bring your own, even better. You can tell the rooms get abused the cabinet, floor boards and door frame were dinged up and need some TLC.

Nice hotel conveniently located off I 80 near Notre Dame. Everything was fine. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare. Coffee was decent. Room was very nice. This is one of the newer concept La Quintas with 2 "fireplaces" at either end of the lobby. Very attractive. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. No hot tub in the pool area. We would stay here again when in the area.

Decent hotel, clean room, bathroom shower could use a deep clean, nothing major, just a needed floor cleaned better and cleaning between shower doors, as others commented, no place to set anything in the shower. Convenient location. Breakfast eggs and sausage not good, rest of breakfast was fine. Watch elevator doors, close to fast and close on you while stepping in.

All in all, this hotel is adequate and a decent value for the price. Location is great - 10 minutes from Notre Dame's campus. Plenty of parking. Lobby is spacious, clean, and inviting. Front desk staff is helpful. Hotel is quiet and seems safe.
We had to switch from our initial room due to an issue with the room. Of note, this room smelled like cigarette smoke and was not very pleasant. Our new room didn't have the cigarette smell and was considerably better. However, the carpet was not very clean and there were sticky areas when we first walked into the room. Linens had some odd stains (one looked like lipstick that couldn't be removed, another looked like an old dirt stain) but appeared to have been freshly washed. The shower curtain was gross and clearly had not been cleaned well prior to our arrival.
Breakfast is provided (ends relatively early) but is pretty pathetic compared to most other US chain hotels which is pretty disappointing. Eggs and sausage were not very appetizing and items ran out early and were not regularly replaced.
Would stay at this hotel if absolutely necessary, it's definitely sufficient. But not the most glamorous or enjoyable stay if we're being perfectly honest. There are better options in the Notre Dame and South Bend area.

This is a wonderful hotel! I however will never stay when they have a hockey team in again. The hockey families that stayed the weekend of February 20th, 2022 were the most disrespectful people I’ve ever come across in a hotel. They treated the place as if the lobby was a bar and the front desk staff were they’re babysitters.
I had a room on the 1st floor and I was kept awake until 3am, 3 nights in a row due to 50-60 hockey parents gathering the lobby to drink all night while there 10 year old boys were left to run the halls and stairs all night. It was ridiculous! Those parents should be ashamed of themselves.
Every time I’ve stayed I’ve had an excellent stay. This is new hotel that is kept immaculate, and appreciate the front desk girls, they do all they can to make sure my stay is great, keep up the great customer service.
I’ve booked for the next time I’ll be in town and luckily there’s not another hockey team staying at that time, because I’d hate to have to stay somewhere else.

It wasn’t bad at all. We had a few complaints. But really great quality for the price. Biggest complaint was that the shower temp was way too cold in the mobility accessible room we were in (we had it maxed out and I was still shivering). Which feels even colder in the chair. And that under the bed was incredibly dirty. Most everything else was perfectly acceptable.
