Detailed Reviews
Our stay was ok I say ok because the general manager of the hotel has been less than accommodating my wife daughter and emotional support animal checked in a few days ago room was great..one day my daughters toy ran out of batteries I asked the general manager if he had more he replied yes and just before he was about to give them to me he asked me what were they for so I explained there for my daughters toy it just ran out of batteries he then put the batteries back in the drawer and pointed me to Walgreens..the same day I found out the room we are in doesn't even lock I mentioned this to the general manager who says he wasn't aware of the door not being locked so I said ok can you switch us to another room on the 1st floor due to the emotional support animal he's then says we only have one room on 4th floor; so then I said that's to high when you do have a first floor can you let us know..I mean the area is real sketchy so I just wanted my wife and daughter to feel safe..so the next morning comes I get up and see the housekeeper getting her cart together so I walk out the room to get towels I notice the housekeeper board standing upright on her cart to where I can read it from stepping out my door the housekeeper had two rooms on first floor vacant dirty which means they just checked out this morning or she rolled them from yesterday..so knowing this information I proceed to the front desk where the general manager is and told him I need my room changed he proceeded to lie and say Thier was nothing available I told him I seen the housekeeping board and it said Thier are a couple vacant dirty rooms on the first floor he immediately gets defensive then he starts saying he doesn't know if the room will be cleaned then I replied shouldn't a non locking door in your hotel be first priority? Why didn't you mention it to the one housekeeper you have when she started her day then he replied you can leave and get a refund if you don't like it is this the way you guys conduct business I mean your main job is to accommodate guests staying at your hotel I mean the general manager made us feel like we weren't welcome here

Our first time here and had no idea you had to take your trash to the dumpster outside. We booked it for 5 nights, so far been here three nights and they haven’t even brought us clean towels or even never have made up the beds. That also must be there policy. They don’t ever supply your room with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, nothing. I have stayed in many hotels, and was unaware that those services were not available here. Needless to say we will never stay at a Suburban Extended Stay Hotel again.

Response from Suburban Extended Stay, General Manager at Suburban Extended Stay Hotel South Bend
Responded 19 Oct 2020
Dear Barry, We regret to hear that you were not happy with your stay at our hotel. The extended-stay hotel business differs in many ways from that of transient hotels, this would help explain some of your concerns. Regardless, we truly appreciate your feedback and highly encourage you to reach out to our GM so we can further hear your story and improve on our services. You may call the hotel at (574) 968-4737, press 0 to reach the front desk and ask to speak to the GM. Thank you again.

This could be a great hotel. However, the drapes were hanging of the rod and one of the overhead lights had a dead lightbulb. Second, the smoking area is never to the entrance door, but it should be at least 50 feet away.
If I owned the hotel, I would check each room quickly for maintenance needs. A maintenance employee could also do this. A little care and this would be a good place to stay.

Shady people hanging in parking lot, and inside as soon as we checked in late one night after a ballgame. Gave me wrong room with one bed, when my reservations had a two bed room for two nights. Had to go back down. Second floor smelled musty and nasty. Still never opened pool, so couldn’t even enjoy that. And to top it off PET HAIR all in the beds!!!!!! It’s one of those places that looks decent when you first look, but when you REALLY look it’s gross! Pet hair on sheets, on rolling desk chair, just covered everywhere. Only one trash can, no trash can in bathroom. Fan was broke in bathroom. Dust, dirt, and hair everywhere. We did check for bugs before we did anything because the way my luck was going that night was awful! Just won’t ever go back!
I never leave reviews EVER! But HAD TO, for this place!

I booked my room well in advance from the date of my stay. I booked directly through the hotel and not a 3rd party site. They overbooked and gave my room away. I traveled over 3 hours and had no where to stay after a concert I was attending and had no choice but to drive home which turned out to be almost a 4 hour trip home. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at this hotel for more than six weeks this spring/summer. The hotel said they had a management plan in place, with a local pest control company, to regularly spray for bed bugs as a preventative measure, they assured me there hadn't been a bed bug sighting in years. I found nothing in my own room, buy all of my employees (5 rooms) all had heavy infestations. Understanding how bed bugs can travel between the walls and ducts, I checked out immediately, I'm not willing to take that risk. My employees stayed because they were assured that all of the rooms would be treated over the 4th of July weekend, while they were away. Upon their return, they were told the rooms were treated, but my employees didn't believe it due to the condition of their rooms. They further questioned the management until they finally admitted that the rooms were NOT treated, which the employees already knew. My employees checked out. We're all worried, it's still a possibility that we've picked up bed bug hitch-hikers since we all stayed for such a long time. Shame on you, hotel management, for lying about the rooms being treated. The cost of treating and regularly spraying as part of a maintenance plan must be very costly, but it's a part of your business, it must be done! My company will never stay here again, even if they drop a nuclear bomb on this place and there are no bed bugs within 100 miles, never will I or my employees stay here. The management lied to us, not acceptable!

So dirty trashed.i will never stay here again. I got a great deal but you get what you pay for. I am now at the Marriot and there is no comparison. Suburban extended stay in Roseland was very unprofessional and unclean. Trash in the hall way and stair case and found bed bugs in their bed.

Came in for a football weekend and had a difficult time finding a room for a reasonable price. We are typically loyal to a couple of brand hotels, but challenging times call for thinking outside the box. Suburban Extended Stay came through at a very good rate and with other positives. The location was easy access to the main roads and they offered a shuttle ($8 per person) on game day. The room was clean and functional. We would have like pillows with more volume, but for 2 nights we made it through. Also, the television was on the smaller side by today's standards. Fitness room was adequate and served its purpose. The weight machine is in need of repair. The kitchenette was useful. Wifi service was stable and the signal was very reliable. All in all for a guys weekend, it was a good stay. Would stay here again all things the same.
