Nice hotel, great front desk staff. Travelling during the Coronavirus pandemic, the last thing I wanted to see was a hotel room that needed cleaning. I arrived with my usual germophobic kit of cleaning wipes, only to find a large number of tortilla chips in between the beds on the floor, in obvious site. This room was obviously not vacuumed, making you wonder what else they did not clean, if they were going to miss something this obvious. I typically stay at Hamptons when I travel, but the nearby Hampton was booked full during this trip. I have already booked a return trip to this area, and will be staying at the nearby Hampton. Housekeeping is the most basic of Hotel maintenance, should be first priority, especially around a time when travellers are already leery of being on the road.
Many negative reviews based around housekeeping of this location, makes you wonder how the current management is still managing this location, Hilton needs to up their game in looking into customer feedback and acting upon matters like this.

I am a huge fan of Holiday Inns and they are always our first choice, that is until we stayed at the one in Richmond IN. First the floors were dirty, the television in the bedroom stopped working spontaneously and we could not get many of the channels advertised so watching tv was out of the question. We are IHG reward club members so I asked for a late check out at check in. When I looked at my app I noticed they still had my check out time as 11, so I called down to get it corrected and the young lady who helped me (don’t know name) was very short and rude but changed the time to 12, which I’ve always been told late check out for members was 1:00. Unfortunately I do not think we will be returning to this establishment again.

Had a very nice stay. NOTE the property is newly renovated and is converted to a Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. The lobby area is nice but felt a little sterile (too much white). Staff was very nice and helpful. The cleaning crew missed making the bed and replacing toilet paper once, so slight room for improvement there. Breakfast was exceptional compared to many other places we have stayed that offer free breakfast. Kudos to the staff keeping the breakfast food stocked and the breakfast area very clean!! We were impressed!

I would highly recommend staying in another hotel. The staff was friendly and that is the only good thing I have to say about this stay. First, I was double charged for my room. I booked and paid for room through Priceline. When I checked in, I was charged again by Holiday Inn. I am still waiting for the charge to drop off my pending transactions in my bank. It has been 4 days. Second, the Hotel was not clean! After stepping off the elevator onto the 2nd floor the carpet in the long hallway to the room was DISGUSTING!!! The carpet had many visible large, dark stains. It appeared to not have been clean in many years! The smell was also very disturbing. Entering the room was not any better as the stains and smell continued. I ended up going to the store to buy disinfecting/cleaning wipes, glade plug-ins, and Febreze just to make the room tolerable for my two-night stay. Did I mention the dead bug that was stuck to the shower curtain and the stain on the curtain that looked like vomit!! I have stayed in many Holiday Inn's and never had an experience like this. I recommend leaving your shoes on the entire time you are in the room, do not walk barefoot from the bed to the bathroom. It was just gross. Also, if you want breakfast in the morning it will cost extra. I was unaware of this as well.

I am one of the lucky ones that still travels during corona. I understand the extra challenges.
Richmond is far from a big city which usually makes things easier
I entered the hotel a few minutes before 4pm
I stood in line for 25 minutes(4 people in front of me). Bad enough having to wait overly long. The staff kept taking phone calls making my wait even longer. 😡travel most of the day then stand in line 🤬
When I finally went to check in my room was not ready..... guess why I am not happy. After waiting in the closed bar area I was given my room key, get to my floor and there was no cleaning staff, I doubt they had enough time to put their cleaning gear away. I’m thinking I waited extra time for NOTHING
Next time I am sticking to a hotel chain that has online check in and I can use my phone to open the door without the waiting at the front desk hassles

I would give this Holiday Inn 2 stars at best it looks good on first view, but when you get to your room it goes down hill. First the key would not work, and the toilet would not flush. I am 100 % disabled, so I had to wait until my wife came down so we could go to dinner.
When we returned the toilet had leeked water all over the bathroom floor. We had to get a new room and my wife had to move allof our stuff by her self. The new room was large but had a few problems. The curtains had now way to close and there was a very bright light coming in. We had to move the rolling desk chair in front of the widow. We finally got to bed.

Absolutely avoid this hotel unless you get a room on the side away from the highway; the noise of the big trucks on Interstate 70 is very loud all through the night; neither one of us got much sleep at all. The building has four floors, and there is very little sound abatement between floors. We heard our neighbor on the floor above us stomping around quite a lot. In short, this place has a real problem with noise. For this reason, we recommend avoiding this particular Holiday Inn. We stay at Holiday Inn a lot and usually have a good experience; this was easily our very worst. Other than the noise, it is a standard Holiday Inn experience. Too bad there is such a terrible noise experience.

Arrived after 11 pm to check into our room and the clerk told us she did not have a reservation under our names. We then showed her our confirmation email and numbers. We confirmed that it was the correct hotel and it had already been charged to our card. The clerk could only say sorry and shake her head and gave no offer of help to find a new place or reimbursement for our reservation. We then had to travel over an hour to find a hotel to stay at way past midnight.

We dealt with several staff members who were very pleasant, hard working, and did their best to assist us, but were failed by the IT tab the hotel. We went to the assigned room and discovered we could not open the look with the key cards. a staff member went back to the room, and confirmed the lock was not working. We went back to the front desk and were upgraded to a suite because there were no other king bed rooms available.. The manager went to the second room, and used her key to open the room. She then attempted to open the room with our keys, but they did not work. she told us that she would get the maintenance man to reprogram our lock. we waited for an hour and called the desk once again. We were told that the maintenance man had gone home, but the second shift manager would attempt to reprogram our lock. He made several attempts, but could not do so. The maintenance man eventually arrived after being called in, and he also made many attempts to get the lock to work. he was unsuccessful. The manager told us that there were no more suites available, and that he would comp us a basic double bed room. Three hours after check in, and three room changes we were finally able to get in a room. We ate in the bar, and watched a steady stream of guests return to the front desk complaining that their keys did not work. We heard one unhappy woman tell the clerk that these were her 3rd set of keys that did not work. We attempted to pay our bill, but the bartender told us that the computer at the bar did not work, and we would have to pay at the front desk.We waited more than 30 minutes to pay our bill while the overwhelmed clerk tried to check in guests, remake keys, and cash out bar customers. DShje told us that she had to add our bill by pencil and paper, because her computer was not working.

We stayed there in June and our room was clean and comfortable. As was the room next door occupied by other family members. The desk clerk said they would be doing a remodel soon but not sure if that has happened yet. They do charge for the Continental breakfast if that matters. If you are worried, you may want to cancel and find other accommodations. We just stayed at an airport Fairfield Inn on a trip to the East Coast. Some of the reviews were less than glowing but we stayed there both coming and going and found it clean, quiet and comfortable. Good luck!
