Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a group of 8 guys from all over the Midwest. Swan Lake was an ideal location for all of us as it was no more than 4 hours from any major Midwest city. The accommodations were also spot on. We enjoyed the 2 person cabins, which had a nice grill and fire pit set up. We play both course twice and enjoyed the diverse layout. Courses were in great shape. Also dinned at both the clubhouse and Dixies. Excellent food and even better serve! We couldn't have asked for a better weekend plus it was extremely financially reasonable all around! We plan to come in 2021!

We came for a class reunion that was great. Food was good, room that held the event was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Then after about dozen of us stayed to catch up and the hotel accommodated us nicely by providing additional sitting in the common area. The rooms were just average nothing really special about them. Bed was comfortable. The only negative was I did not find out till after I booked that we had a block of rooms set at the venue and that they would not honor that rate and felt that the room rate was very expensive.

I want to tell you of what a gem of a person you have running your bar. Heather Morris always makes me and my employees feel welcome, and no matter how slammed with customers she is she is always pleasant even when I know probably on the inside she is about to explode, but the customers only see smiles and hospitality. Not only the hospitality but from a business owners perspective I can see that she takes ownership in her job and does it with the most professionalism I have witnessed of a bar manager. I would be glad to have a group of employees with her skill set and true concern for the customer and her work environment.

All of your employees are great, but Heather is over the top.

Thank you,
Dan Bland

We camped at their campsites for 3 nights. The hookups are full 50/30 amp, with water and sewer, but they are on the wrong side. We had to back in our camper as it is a 5th wheel, and use extra connections to hook up. No way to pull straight in. First night was okay, Friday night was horrible. They had a huge group of men (28 sharing the four cabins in loop). They played extremely loud music (concert loud with huge speakers) until 11:15pm, then they played lower volume music until 1-1:30am. We contacted the front desk 7 times Saturday evening, they don’t have security, nor did they have anyone on staff to come talk to them, even though quiet time is at 11pm.The men were drinking heavily, speeding through the loop. Hubby had a golf tournament to play in morning, he didn’t get much sleep and didn’t play his best. Next evening the men weren’t quite as loud but still loud and we could hear them late in the night. The worst part was we didn’t feel safe, with drunk and obnoxious men. One of them came to our campsite drunk and wanted to pick a fight about the speed limit. The staff know about these men and their group as it is an annual outing for them. They never should have rented out campsites if they knew. We left a day early. Only good thing was they didn’t charge us for leaving early, but they should have given us a credit for two of three nights. Because it was a terrible stay and front desk people said there wasn’t much they could do. So sad.

We had a group of 8 for our 3 day annual golf trip and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Our group was made up of all skill levels (10 - max handicap) and everyone enjoyed their time on the 2 courses. Everything from the tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were in great shape. The greens were quick and rolled pure. Some holes were pretty wide open, while others were tight and required some shot shaping to put yourself in a good position. We only had 1 issue with pace of play, but the ranger did a great job of trying to speed up the group in front of us that seemed to be hacking the ball and not respecting a proper pace.

We stayed in the cottages, which weren't anything special, but served their purpose. Nice area to build a fire and a grill to cook up some dinner. Some cottages included 1 bed and a bunk bed, while others were 2 beds, so that was the only thing that was a bit of a surprise when we arrived. I expected a little better breakfast, but I've certainly had worse.

Kelsey helped us book the trip and she was FANTASTIC! She provided a great level of customer service and was extremely responsive in answering our questions when scheduling our trip.

Overall, this is a great value for a nice golf getaway and the golf was everything we were looking for. I highly recommend this and we will definitely plan another trip out to Swan Lake Resort in the upcoming years.

First off, the property is very nice from the outside. Also amazing inside! The room was a bit out dated with a rusty bath rub, stained carpet, and peeling wallpaper. Bed was comfy. Room was quite small, but fine as I was a single traveler. Now I know good help is hard to find, but you would think a high(er) end establishment like this would be able to conquer this hurdle. Yet the guy that checked me in was eating snacks during my check in, gave zero information, and was completely unknowledgeable on the property. Came back down later on and he had his headphones on. When a customer came up, he just put them down on his neck briefly. Manager lady was there the entire time offering minimal help and guidance.

Breakfast was continental and lackluster as expected.

The Chophouse attached restaurant…. If you don’t look like a rich PGA tour pro, you get ignored. Got the $49 ribeye and it was terrible. Sidewinder fries are bland and straight out of the Walmart freezer. Drinks were fine.

This place is perfect if you are a 60yr old retired guy that wants to show off his money and play golf. That is 90% of the guests already. If that’s not you, then this place might not be a good fit.

The Golf course wat immaculate. The greens and fairways were better than most country clubs I have played recently. There was an actual course ranger that patrolled the course to move players along effectively.
The rooms were older but mattresses were up to date and the rooms were large.
Pools were nice and the employees were very friendly.
My stay could not have been nices

My son and I were visiting Northern Indiana to check out a potential college for him and we stayed at the Swan Lake Resort while in the area. The resort is very nice, with extremely nice grounds. The rooms are large, quiet, clean and well-appointed. I wouldn't have any objections recommending the resort.

The only knock is that typical of hotels/motels built before 2000, it just doesn't have enough electric outlets for today's connected world. The room had one outlet between the beds which had a light and clock connected to it, so it wasn't available for use. There was another along a wall not really close to anything and the third was near the desk. Just be aware that you may need to bring an extension cord and/or power strip when staying.

My golf buddies and I did the Stay and Play. We had the best time together. The golf courses were in great condition and after our rounds of golf we had dinner at the Chop House restaurant. Great food and great service. Our table was ready for us and we were seated right away. The cocktails were the hit of the day. If you want to get together with your friends and play some golf you need to visit Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth In. It's a great place for a getaway .

How far away are you from Notre Dame campus?
Answer from SLR
Plymouth, Indiana
Good morning, I'm Kevin Smith, Swan Lake Resort's General Manager. In addition to hosting football fans attending Notre Dame games, we also have several visiting teams stay with us due to our proximity to ND. We are 10 minutes from US 31, which takes you north into South Bend and the Notre Dame campus. Total drive time, depending on traffic, is between 30 and 45 minutes. No two night minimum with us or inflated rates on ND homes games, unlike hotels in South Bend. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.
