A group of us gals booked in for dinner and a comedy show that Kinross were hosting and a couple of us decided to stay the night in one of the cottages so that we could enjoy the wines on offer at dinner/the show. What a gorgeous night away?! The rooms were beautiful and cozy on a chilly early Spring evening. The bathroom and kitchen are well-appointed, and the local farm fresh milk in the morning is a lovely touch. The staff were excellent from start to finish. We will certainly be back!

Really lovely place to stay, the cottages are so nice and have everything you need. Good value for money - you get delicious breakfast boxes delivered to your room and you have a 45 minute wine tasting included in your stay. Stunning views of the vineyard and going for a walk around the grounds is so pretty, especially in autumn. Beautiful buildings and setting, very friendly staff. The only thing I think we should have been informed about was the grape picking that commenced on the Sunday at 8am as the pickers were blasting their music and the dogs roaming around came into our room. Wasn’t an issue for us, just thought it should probably have been mentioned. Thanks for a great stay.

My sister and I celebrated her 50th birthday here and everything exceeded expectations. The room price included hot tub and wine tasting (both of which we used) and an in room breakfast box (full of delicious options to suit every taste). The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they were diligent at checking everything was ok. They even left a Happy Birthday cake plate for her on arrival. The room was large, well decorated and had everything we needed. Highly recommended and we are likely to come back.

Beautiful winery and large rooms and bathrooms. Cozy beds and wonderful shower. Such a pretty romantic setting. Loved all the rabbits and ducks on the grounds too. The wine tasting was fun and delicious and included in our stay. We ordered 4 different fire roasted pizzas. The pear and blue cheese pizza was out of this world. The grounds were so well kept, there were swings for couples, lawn games and a sandy area with digging toys for little kids to play with. The live music in the afternoon/dinner time that was lovely. I highly recommend staying here. We chose Kinross to break up the drive from Milford sound to Mt. Cook and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and attentive.

Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in a cottage that overlooked the vines - stunning scenery. The room was large with good facilities including a microwave, small fridge and small stove top as well as an oven; tea and coffee supplied along with the best fresh milk I’ve ever had! The bathroom was a good size with a shower over the bath and it was great there was a step to get into the bath as it is quite high! I was worried about the interconnecting room but we didn’t really hear the people next door. We enjoyed the wine tasting, breakfast was reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed the platter we had to take away after the wine tasting. Friendly staff and great wines! This is a working vineyard and as would be expected there’s a little bit of noise, some flies but there were ear plugs and insect repellent which was a nice touch! It was just a shame the 2 nights we stayed the restaurant was closed at night! But you can get food to take to your room. We would definitely come back and next time stay when we can enjoy the dinner too!

Hi there, thank you so much for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback for our team. It sounds like you had a lovely stay! Our apologies for the bistro being closed - this is a temporary measure as we move through the Omicron peak to ensure we minimise our hours and don't burn out our staff. It's been a long haul over the past few years to get through and keep our amazing team members looked after. We cannot wait to be back to full steam really soon! Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to welcoming you back sometime soon. Ngā mihi nui, Nicky

Really disappointed in our stay at Kinross. The tasting for guests was an absolute waste of time and was one of our primary reasons for wanting to stay at Kinross. The young man running the tasting must have had a dinner engagement because he seemed to want to get out as quickly as possible. He talked down to us as if we had never had a glass of wine! The cabin was fine, nothing fancy but very clean. Cabins were not close to town and because the restaurant was closed for dinner it required a drive into Arrowtown. The hotel staff were friendly but they did not process my credit card correctly and it required followup after our leaving. The location of the cabins was in good proximity to many of the Central Otago wineries. I believe better accommodations could be found closer to town.

Hi There, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you did not have an enjoyable experience at Kinross. We have taken your feedback on board and spoken with the team. Over the last week we have ensured the Wine Advisors have had additional training so that they can improve the guest experience. Yes, our property is not in Queenstown, which is why many of our guests choose to stay here, on a working vineyard. Some people prefer not being in the town so they can enjoy the quiet our valley offers. Our Bistro is closed in the evening however we offer a takeaway dining service that guests are able to have in their rooms or around the property. We hope that you enjoyed the rest of your holiday. All the best, Katie

Visited their Cellar Door during our self-managed tour of Gibbston Valley.
$25 for a tasting that was very generous and with impeccable storytelling by Aussie, David. We arrived around 2pm on a Monday and there were no crowds. We had David’s undivided attention = great banter throughout our wine tasting.
Beautiful new cellar building (built last December) with luxurious touches yet the Kinross brand remains groovy and unpretentious. They highlight the region’s best (not just exclusively their vineyard) which was a welcomed humble approach.
We went home with the Coal Pit (women-led winery, with a young prodigy of a winemaker, and with a bit of Maori history)
100% recommend
(We visited Gibbston Valley, Moro, Chard Farm, and Amisfield… and this tasting was the highlight!) Although also recommend going next door to Chard Farm too 👌🏽

Kinross hosted our Xmas party and it was unanimous that the food and service was amazing. The venue was perfect for a big group and we all had a ball. There was plenty of space for us and other groups on the day and we never felt cramped or rushed. Great start to the Xmas season.

We really enjoyed our two nights at the Kinross cottages. The team at Kinross went out of their way to make for a comfortable, memorable stay--including a few last-minute adjustments to accommodate our changing circumstances. The cottages themselves were really well-appointed--the beds were comfortable, the shower products were great, and the kitchen was stocked. We loved the breakfast boxes each morning and the ability to stroll around the gorgeous property before wine tours arrived. Overall, we felt really well-cared for by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.

My wife and I visited Kinross for the wine tasting and lunch. The five wines selected for us were interesting to excellent but of course, this rating is subjective. I suspect the offered wines were on the table as an incentive to purchase a bottle or two, which we did, which waived the tasting fees.
The lunch was served outside which was fine because the weather permitted it. We ordered a "gazing platter" of fruit, nuts and cheeses which was excellent and filled us up. The winery staff were all cheerful and friendly. That said, buying wine directly from any winery is always more expensive than competitive store pricing. Kinross was not an acceptation to that rule. But we liked the Hawkshead Pino Gris so we paid the price and enjoyed the wine along our journey north in New Zealand.

Hi there, this is Christine, the owner of Kinross. So sorry its taken us so long to answer, I thought I had posted the answer to your question last week, but it didn't go through! So the answer is that we don't have laundry facilities, but some of our guests are happy to do hand washing and we have some drying racks we can lend you. The rooms are spacious so there is plenty of room to have the drying rack up, or else on a sunny day out of the deck works too. If you were in a real pickle, Jeremaia our manager would probably lend you his personal laundry facilities in his home, if you asked really nicely! Hope this helps, and happy travelling. Christine

Hi there, there are taxi's available to and from the airport, but Kinross does not offer a shuttle or transfer service. We are about a 20 min drive from the airport. Hope that helps!
